With JKH (1) it makes ten exactly (and on the way to creating an elite team)!
-
You cannot be serious? I am sure that JKH, Tyson, Salem, Mitchie, Harmes and Hunt will still be around and firing well after Cross and Vince have retired after doing us excellent service.
-
The best thing was watching last night's evening news and seeing Blease chunder in technicolour. Marvellous how such trivial sideshows can feature in a quiet (AFL) news period.
-
I would not fuss about these rankings as it merely will assist us to 'fly under the radar'. We are not on our Pat Malone in the alleged dearth of elite talent and GWS's only player is Heath Shaw recruited in the Trade Period. I suspect that they have a few more players on their list who are potentially elite in 2014 (as will we).

No need to back-track. Nobody has spoken about anything apart from Hogan.
-
Here it is for those not able to open the link: SHUDDERS went through the Melbourne camp on Friday when promising youngster Jesse Hogan left the training track with what appeared to be a nasty looking knee injury. The 18-year-old forward landed awkwardly after a marking contest and limped off the track in obvious pain. Despite early concerns, Hogan has since been cleared of serious knee damage. "Jesse had an incident at training today where he jarred his knee. He has since been cleared of any major damage," Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney told AFL.com.au. The Dees believe Hogan will be sidelined for 1-2 weeks with the injury.

I would be flattered if they pinched your ideas as it is a massive compliment [and i am sure that you sent them to CS with the idea that he may take you seriously]. Why don't you follow-up with a visit to the MFC Marketing Department or offer to be a facilitator for a focus group on marketing the MFC?
-
Any other reports coming out of training [apart from Hogan's injury]?
-
I am hoping so will Tyson, Toumpas, Viney and Hogan.
-
I don't disagree with you and suspect that we may even finish above the Suns and Eagles [given we can keep our three tall forwards on the park]. It was worrying however to see in the ranking of AFL players [by Club] in this morning's paper, that we are the only Club in the AFL not considered to contain a single elite player.
-
An aptly-named place for him to end up!
-
No need to shoot the messenger by defending the Club staff against fellow Demonlander's genuine concerns. I realise that they work within AFL constraints and do not have full freedom in how they operate their own website or phone app however I am sure that it would pay dividends if they could overcome the many obstacles and update it more regularly/thoroughly. It is not only news that is erratic but it is hard to find current information about players with their bio details sometimes a season behind. Having got that off my chest, can anybody enlighten me about Barry's current weight (as per my earlier post pasted below)? Post #58 Maybe they could take individual snaps of all players wearing the same jumper rather than the assortment that they feature now. Also regular updates of the player profiles would be good [or does Barry still weigh 70kg?).

Why would Monday week be too soon? At least it falls before our first NAB Challenge Cup match against Richmond on Friday 14 February and allows Roos to get some feedback on personnel and structures before we play against other Clubs. Personally I would opt for the earlier time which gives us a fortnight or so to fine tune or rethink prior to taking on the Tigers.

The MFC App describes Barry as 183cm and 70kg. Is this his current weight as it seems quite slight?

Interesting about Blease when some Demonlanders have picked him as one of their improvers for 2014 on another thread.

Four rising star nominations will suffice for 2014 however lovely to see jkh take out the ultimate prize. Loved his confidence to be named as a Round One starter in the latest interview. -
Then all others should go to the pub with their mates, leaving the teetotallers to watch it home on Foxtel. I expect all Demonlanders however will book flights/buses to the "G" when Roos gets us in our first Final!
-
I don't know why people bother subscribing to Foxtel? If the Dees are playing in Melbourne at the G, I never miss a game, If we are playing interstate (or Etihad) I head off to the local pub and watch it on their Foxtel with my mates over a counter and few bottles of red. I figure that way what I save on a Foxtel subscription pays for my F&B at the pub, plus I can enjoy the company of my mates! It is a no-brainer.
-
I also are for laying off Pedo. It must be soul-destroying for some players to come onto this site and read how everybody puts the boot into certain of their teamates. We have got him for another two years (unless we trade at the end of the season) so why not just accept that he is a depth player and let Roos utilise and/or develop him as he sees fit? We have got plenty of exciting new talent starting with us this year (Tyson, Hogan, JKH, Cross, etc) plus players who should improve on last year with a full pre-season under Roos (Clark, Trengove, Toumpas, Viney, Kent, Fitzy etc) and our core players (N. Jones, Frawley, Watts, Garland, McDonald, Howe, Dawes, Grimes, etc) so why not talk positive about their potential, after all they will make up the core of our starting 22?

Yes a very good option for the rising star [along with Viney, Toumpas, Hogan, Salem, Kent and Barry] -
i agree with your summation and I am quietly optimistic that JKH will surprise many Demonlanders and opposition supporters by proving to be that magic small forward that we have craved since the Wizard went West.

Maybe he was 'drafted at 40-odd' but he was also our 'second pick in the AFL Draft' after our astute trading to bolster the midfield. i am optimistic that when the season proper commences it will reveal that our recruiting team this year have done a good job and made some astute moves, JKH being a prime example and I am confident he will surprise many.
