Am I the only one worried that the influence of unempirical shamanism is a bad thing to expose our already scarred playing group to? Bad treatments for real problems are worse than no treatments at all. Trained professionals only please.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Personally, I hope we don't get a PP. That way when Essendon are 20 players down next season, we can argue against any sort of AFL sanctioned relief because "it was their mistake, they should deal with it. Also they'd probably just inject new players with drugs anyway, so what's the point?" Seriously the argument against our getting as PP is weak as [censored]. The only reason we won't get one will be the AFL bowing to public opinion again. If that's how it's played, then Essendon can die by the sword too.

I would guess that this single-mindedness is what allowed him to flourish in an environment where all his contemporaries were failing.

Players to target at the end of the year

My nightmare is that this happens the other way around. -
..... was that a Dawkins reference? I'm not a member of any other footy forums but I'd wager not a lot of them have Dawkins references in one thread and Shakespeare quotes in another. This forum is so awesome :D

Australian Rules game for iOS/Android
Bluey's Dad replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like a good idea to me. How does the actual kicking work? Do you swipe backwards from the player with the ball angry birds style? So the longer the swipe the bigger the kick? And then what determines if the next player marks it? I reckon I'd be cool to be able to pick an individual team, so a player with a high "marking" stat has a better chance of grabbing the mark. Similarly, the better "kicks" will follow your swipes more closely, the crappier ones don't. From a personal standpoint, my interest would be in team building and management. Trying to unlock the best players and have them all in one team or something. Then my team evolves and gets better and can play against better AI team as I add better players and remove bad ones. Maybe even a trade system? How awesome would it be trading players with other coaches! Sort of like dream team I guess. Anyway that's just what would attract me to a game like that. Of course the gameplay itself would have to be solid and polished as well, to give me an incentive to build a better team. -

From my understanding, if he says Essendon requested a "joint investigation" then it sinks their case because they are arguing that any such investigation breaches the ASADA legislation. However an "afl investigation with ASADA assistance" is not a "joint investigation". Semantics. Same [censored] different smell IMHO. -

Campbell playing the semantics card methinks: 3:02pm: Campbell agrees Essendon requested an AFL investigation with ASADA assistance, but denies requesting a join investigation -

The Age is doing rolling coverage, I guess it's the next best thing to a video feed. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/essendon-supplements-saga-federal-court-hearing-20140811-3dh9h.html Not sure what the implications of this are: 2:40pm: The parties are currently arguing about whether a recording should be allowed which ASADA claims is improperly obtained evidence. 2:42pm: This "secret document" is a recording of an ASADA briefing to players last year at a time when Star said Essendon has "health and mental" fears for its players. -

From my understanding, no, not the infraction notice. I would think through if he gets put on the registrar of findings or whatever the next step is, that he would have to. Or there would at least be a public outcry for it. -

I thought the AFL had already sanctioned the club? Now it's ASADA trying to sanction the individuals involved, the first step of which were the show cause notices? I get really confused with this issue. -

I assume their strategy is that the longer they delay the actual penalty, the more players they can move on from the club (trades/delistings/retirements) and therefore lessen the eventual impact of the sanctions. -

As someone who can't watch this at work, I'm going to be refreshing this thread a whole lot today... -
I really enjoyed Walter Mitty too Can't back you up on the latest Godzilla though. I thought it was aweful. Also the adds heavily implied Bryan Cranston would be the lead. I was sorely disappointed. Seeing Guardians tonight, can't wait :D

I must admit I'm in the same boat. Even the possibility of witnessing some beautiful BBO/Moonie sexual tension wouldn't be enough to get me to the game.

I read something the other day in one of the papers that said people should just pick their 40 favourite members of the Liberal party and send them their resume each month.

Yep, was just thinking this today. We're a 10 goal better side than last year but it's still not enough to get over the line. Coming from a loooooong way back.

Why? I love paying $9237820983740732 for a small coke. Makes me feel like such a big man when I can afford such luxuries.
