  1. Someone apparently did the same thing with Jon Giles' wiki page and put his club as Essendon. Looks like it's fixed now. Some hilarious trollage today.
  2. Best avatar ever, deefrag. Edit: also just realised you name is a pun. Well played, sir.
  3. What we really need is for you to have another shower, Nasher. Worked last time.
  4. AFL player ratings has him at number 5. http://www.afl.com.au/afl-player-ratings I have no idea how they measure that or even if it's a good measure, but it is interesting.
  5. I'm so glad I have you guys to relay this stuff so I don't have to listen to it myself. Must be torture.
  6. Time at work so far today: 3 hours Time spent working so far today: 3 minutes
  7. Amazing that a number one pick from only a year ago can even say he wants to be traded. Things are changing very quickly.
  8. Saw this on the road over the weekend, couldn't believe someone would do that to their car so I had to take a photo. Sigh,
  9. AFL. World's best practice.
  10. Certainly seems that way now doesn't it. This trade period is chockers full of players requesting trades and nominating clubs. I don't remember anything quite like it before. Our game has changed. Enjoying your holiday Gill?
  11. Interesting that it now seems like the "delay until we've turned the list over" strategy is now biting them on the arse.
  12. So Griffin and Cooney both want out. What was the deal with Liam Jones? Did the doggies want to trade him or did he want out? Either way, 2 of their most senior players requesting trades is a disaster.
  13. I see what you're saying, but if Port can't convince their own players to go to the EFC then they're going to have a hell of a time trying to convince another player from another team to do it. I think picks are as good as Essendon are going to get.
  14. Surely not, that's MASSIVE overs for Griffen given his age. I know he's a great player, but surely too old for those picks.
  15. Didn't he just sign a 1 year contract extension? As in, a few weeks ago?
  16. Yeah but what is Paddy worth? Essendon are excluding the possibility of sanctions when they are evaluating what he's worth. Paddy is an excellent ruckman, but there is a big question mark on his ability to play next year due to likely sanctions.
  17. Just makes all the time I waste reading Demonland that much worse. I think I've had about 4 productive hours at work all week. *shakes fist* damn you trade week, damn you to hell!
  18. As I understand it, it's the "steak knives" that are the sticking point. It seems Port can't convince any of their players to go to Essendon to sweeten the deal.
  19. I would say as soon as the lawyers work out how to sack him without paying out his massive contract.
  20. Here we go: http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-premiership/patrick-ryders-attempted-free-agency-move-from-essendon-has-been-blocked-by-the-afl/story-e6frf3e3-1227084258054
  21. Ah, good: Essendon had hoped that any Ryder compensation pick would be in line with its ladder position - theoretically pick 13 - in the manner of James Frawley and Dale Thomas. But the AFL says the rules mean the compensation pick has to be after its first selection - which, after the AFL sanctions on Essendon last year - has the Bombers' first pick at the end of the first round. 22. I heard on the radio that St Kilda and North did this exact thing last year with Del Santo. I must say I had no idea this happened. Seems to me that this is 'gaming' the system. Essendon and Port Adelaide are effectively exploiting the compensation in order to CREATE additional currency for the same transaction. I agree with the previous poster who said that at the very least Essendon's draft sanctions should force any compensation that is higher than their first draft pick back behind it. Loopholes in loopholes. And all allowed because the AFL won't want the force anything into court.
  23. Yeah but it's another crack in the dam, they add up Also I find it amusing that Bomberblitz have named their trading forum "Essendon is Not Appealing". At least someone over there has a good sense of humour.
