  1. None of those players have reached their full potential and that draft is already a win. Damn that's a nice list.
  2. "Sylvia at his best was a match winner, but sadly his career will be looked back on largely as an unfulfilled disappointment. Reportedly a chain smoker throughout his career," WTF? What part of 'professional athlete' did Colin not understand?
  3. I think the round ball makes all the difference. The last time I watched an IRS match the Irish were just much cleaner with disposal. The Aussies couldn't hit [censored]. It's probably fairer to make us use the round ball as opposed to making them use the oval one though.
  4. Yeah but then you'll just have extremist atheists, who'll try to apply Darwinism to society where it doesn't belong. Eugenics and stuff. Although religion is a huge part of the problem, IMHO the bigger problem is that people suck. We have a tendency to see the whole world in "in" and "out" groups. The more homogenised we get, the sillier the distinction between those groups becomes. It won't stop up drawing up lines to divide people though. Once we all think of ourself as "one people", corny as it sounds, it'll make all the difference. If we think of everyone in our "in" group, everything changes. I'm just not sure the human brain can see the world that way. And if it could, you'd need EVERY human brain to do it, and a lot of us don't even want to include other societies as part of a larger whole. Full disclosure - I am an atheist and do think the world would be better served without the often destructive influence (physical and in discourse) of organised religion. At the very least, religions should be taxed. Probably solve the budget black hole right there. Lol, imagine how much money Italy would make if the Catholic Church paid land tax.
  5. I must say I've been pretty impressed with this too.
  6. Part of Wrecker and ProDee's contention is that increased CO2 doesn't actually contribute to global warming. That's not my understanding, but I'm pretty sure that's part of their argument. A graph showing increased CO2 is unlikely to hold any weight for either one of them. ProDee's graph is interesting. It pretty clearly shows an upward trend in global average temperatures. I thought the globe wasn't warming?
  7. Gotta catch em all?
  8. Looks similar to Petracca in that "[censored] dance" video. edit: t i t t i e is censored?
  9. I typed into google "climate change scientific consensus". First 2 links: http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/ https://www.skepticalscience.com/global-warming-scientific-consensus-intermediate.htm
  10. S. Marsh. Selectors have a sense of humour.
  11. Agreed. His impact on games is far greater than his 'low' possession count suggests. Feels like he's everywhere and in everything. Love this kid.
  12. No longer by scooter I believe. Haw haw.
  13. The Age says the exact opposite of this: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/bombers-back-in-the-dock-for-appeal-hearing-20151115-gkzmdg.html Like the AFL anti-doping tribunal, CAS has no powers to compel Stephen Dank, the rogue sport scientist at the centre the supplements saga, or biochemist Shane Charters, who allegedly supplied the substance, to give evidence. I am confused.
  14. Actually it was your last line that I took real issue with. Language is extremely powerful and can be used as a weapon. It bothers me greatly when people who are offended by things are labelled as 'weak' etc. I think the PC brigade has actually added much more value to society than any trade-off we've had to make by 'walking on eggshells' linguistically speaking. I take issue with people who feign outrage and hide behind PC labels, claiming offence when there is none, but that doesn't change my belief that on the whole we are better with it than without. Anyway it doesn't matter, I don't want to argue the point. I'm never going to change your mind and I don't think either of us will learn much from the experience. Edit: I'm also pretty down due to the Paris news. Both in the event and various reactions to it. Not a great mindspace for intellectual debate sorry.
  15. Removed my post. I don't want to get into another argument with you wrecker. I don't have the energy.
  16. Anyone with the slightest ability in statistics or maths will tell you that the more Catholic priests you have in your society the greater chance of sexual abuse.
  17. Sorry, was looking for the 'good stuff'.
  18. Hal Hunter has been trying for a while now.
  19. That's because their away guernsey turns them all into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. So unless someone's coming out with a Ninja Turtles guernsey, Hawthorn will remain hard to beat.
  20. Although I would have thought my MFC membership would let me in to MFC women's games, I'd be happy to pay extra if it didn't. I very much doubt I will be the first, but yes I'll put my hard earned down.
  21. This of course means we shouldn't try.
  22. Yep. Unless the a guilty verdict on Worksafe opens them up to litigation from the players, the $305k is nothing. It's pocket change to Little.
  23. I don't know why. Surely there were all impressed with this size of his desk.
  24. Wow, amazing. Is there any way to find out who the 23 voters were? They deserve a prize.
