WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Bluey's Dad replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's an opinion forum Stuie, you of all people should know that. I think if we have someone on our list who is a confirmed drug cheat, and he passed our character test, then our character test needs updating. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Bluey's Dad replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I had to dig around to find this: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2012-11-20/dees-clear-about-draft-targets-viney Viney's 'fourth pillar' of recruitment is a 'character test'. I believe Melksham, as a confirmed drug cheat, fails this test. Even if you're being generous and say that he was deceived by the club, I still think he fails this test by not having the character to stand up and say no. He did not 'handle being in an elite environment', as Viney requires, as he failed to act in an ethical manner whilst at the EFC. I don't want him at our club. He tarnishes us and any wins we have with him in the team. I am struggling to come to terms of how I can support the club and NOT Melksham. It's going to require some good cognitive dissonance on my part to keep my membership knowing he's on our list. Maybe if he makes a statement saying something like "I cheated, I was wrong," or something similar. Some sort of contrition and an apology would be good. -

I don't want to hijak your conversation with dc nasher, but for mine, even if Melksham turns out to be the next Ablett Jnr I think it was the wrong decision. He's a drug cheat. He doesn't deserve to wear the red and blue. -

I won't be cheering Melksham when he takes the field in 2017. I'm extremely disappointed that we have a convicted drug cheat on our list, and would prefer that the club find a way to delist him out of principle. I don't care that it'd mean we made a loss on the trade. This is bigger than that. -
Can you post some samples? Would love to know what lance is saying right now.

He's a journalist DC, like it or not that's where we get the bulk of our information, that's their job. Bolt, likewise, isn't a climate scientist but a journalist.

He didn't have to say that in his speech. Everyone knew it was a lie. I'm liking Turnbull so far, although he's going to have to actually CHANGE some policies at some point. Otherwise it's just the same crap from a different mouthpiece. Hopefully he does, still early days.

Check out Jessie in the back: Most amusing.

Should Demonland embrace the Women's Game?
Bluey's Dad replied to Bigred's topic in Melbourne Demons
This article states that there will potentially be a women's draft: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/clubs-fight-for-foundation-status-as-afl-paves-way-for-womens-league-20151209-gljoja.html I would be devastated if we lost Diasy, especially after her B&F speech. -

I had to manually change my theme (button at the bottom of the page) from default to Demons. Now it's red. Actually looks really good. Very professional. Love your work Andy :D -
From the same link: On the face of it, this is potentially good news for Pacific communities. The islands they call home may be less vulnerable than is commonly thought. But our findings also suggest that although the islands may not be swamped by rising seas, they are likely to change in size and shift their position on the surface of reefs. The rate of these changes may also increase as sea level rises. This raises questions for their ongoing habitation. How will physical changes to the islands affect drinking water supplies, and how will communities need to adapt their farming practices? Questions about island change must be addressed urgently in order to inform decision making and secure the future of Pacific nations. So, island change is still bad I guess?

What's the reason they are giving for not providing the data? If the data correction methodology is sound, just release both the raw and adjusted datasets along with an explanation of the modifiers and why they were used. Those links show the request for the data and their website, I am curious to know what the NOAA's actual response was.

I a legitimately surprised that not one draftee over the past few years pulled a Wingard and said "I will not play for you". Then again, maybe some did and we never heard about it. -

What ever do you mean? Their increase in size and muscle mass is easily explained by their state of the art cutting edge training sessions. Being jabbed hundreds of times by a dodgy 'sports scientist' is purely a coincidence. -

You think the law applies to Essendon? They laugh at our puny laws. They do as they please. Dank paid in brown paper bags exchanged in a the Maccas car park. You know, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Dank produces document that show he imported TB4 for Essendon, but gave the players saline injections so he could on-sell the TB4 to a third party. The guy's dodgy as [censored]. -

Lol, maybe Essendon will sue Dank. "Why did you inject our young players without being employed? WADA, we had no idea! This loon just came in and started jabbing people! Look, we can prove it, he wasn't employed by us! We are the victims here! COMPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!1111one" -

Of course it wasn't. It cures cancer don't you know. The players should be thankful that Essendon put TB4 on that document and not the REAL name of the drug they used and now can't remember. -
