  1. Would love to have a separate thread for Hogan's contract head-banging and one for Hogan game play so I don't have to read through the crud to get my Hogan fix.
  2. And it was on this day that the Demonland admins could no longer deny what had been so obvious for so long. A statement will soon be made announcing mandatory drug testing before posting. Just waiting for Dee-luded to get a 'mystery finger injury' preventing him from posting for a time, as he will likely use his first 2 strikes within an hour or so.
  3. I was listening to Triple M this morning joking about Vickery, I hadn't seen the footage so had no idea. I thought it was funny. Now looking at that, I can't believe they made light of the situation. This is really serious. As to the state of the AFL, I struggle with many things: - Compromised draw - A broadcast rights deal that doesn't benefit fans - Self-interested position on the EFC/Doping scandle - Expansion club concessions and the ripple effect it's had on entrenching the power clubs - A flawed free agency plan that further entrenches power clubs - Incorrect and inconsistent MRP and tribunal decisions - Intrusion of betting advertising - A system that allows a #1 draft pick to up and leave after only 1 year - Bad stadium deals - A draft system that is supposed to help equalise the competition, but doesn't - A salary cap system that is easy to rort - Cringe-worthy commentary teams (not necessarily the AFL's fault though I guess, but it reduces my enjoyment of the game) - Inconsistent umpiring (make a call and stick to it, don't have it officiated different ways WITHIN THE SAME WEEKEND OR EVEN THE SAME GAME) I think I said this in another thread, I wish I could just leave the game behind but I can't. I just love the GAME. I honestly love it. But the leadership and administration of the entity known as 'The AFL' appals me.
  4. I had a lot of hope that the change of leader might actually result in some substantial change in policy, but it appears you are right, nothing seems to have changed. I find it incredibly frustrating that I used to hear Malcolm talk and think "that's a real leader". I can only now think of 3 possibilities on what happened, none of them good: - Turnbull's previous appearances and statements were populist fluff and he never believed them - He is handcuffed by a hostile right-wing faction within his own party, meaning he is a weak leader - He's just saying whatever suits him at whatever time it's of political benefit in order to hold onto the prime ministership Australia's quest for a real Prime Minister continues.
  5. I not religious at all, but I must admit that whenever father Bob was on TV, I listened. He was so direct and undogmatic. It'd be nice if there were a few more father Bobs around and a few less Cardinal Pells.
  6. Expanding that twitter convo, AzzKikA, reveals A LOT of people who share your opinon. Seems like Fox Footy hasn't responded to any of them though.
  7. lol, you realise you stuffed it up there as well? You've used a conjunctive apostrophe where you shouldn't have. I'm not usually someone who likes to correct grammar on the internet, but this one was pretty funny.
  8. Not a bad idea. Might do that tonight.
  9. Damn, only works for current customers. I was going to write in there that I was considering purchasing Foxtel until the appointment of Heppell. Oh well.
  10. I actually wrote a whole post on how this is complete bs from Beveridge, but this is better:
  11. I hope more people do this.
  12. Oh I'd forgotten about Rita! Her last CAS/Essendon piece was really good. Fingers crossed.
  13. I wonder if there is a 'journalist' anywhere who'd be willing to point this out. Hell even a Titus O'Reilly tweet wouldn't go stray.
  14. Heppell's appointment just shows the AFL aren't serious at all about the drug issue. It's a tacit message to the fans that "they did nothing wrong, CAS stuffed up and we can't change it". The guy is serving a suspension for DRUG CHEATING. Even if he's technically allowed to to media for the AFL, there's no way he should be doing it. Sends the complete wrong message. I wish I loved the game a little less so I could walk away from it.
  15. Fantastic, I'll give this a try for the port game. Thanks Redbeard!
  16. Ooooooh, android emulator for pc: http://www.andyroid.net/ This might work...
  17. ah here we go: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/store/apps/afl-live/9wzdncrdsg53#app-details Only runs on Windows PHONE OS, not Windows OS (which is what windows TABLETS like the Surface Pro run).
  18. I don't think Foxfooty streams over Foxtel Go. If you're lucky the game you want to watch will be on Fox Sports 3, which I think Foxtel Go does stream. Basically Foxtel isn't allowed to stream AFL to mobile devices, as Telstra has paid for those rights. It's a stupid mess and consumers suffer. Another issue for me is how 'tablets' are defined in the rights deals. The Telstra AFL app will work on android and ios tablets, but not windows tablets. The simple reason for this is that if they allowed windows tablets to stream, then people could also do it with normal pc's, which they don't want. Personally, I think if I own a tablet, I should be able to download the AFL app and watch it like on any other tablet.
  19. I was thinking "The Bombers' Swiss [Miss] Adventure"
  20. I like this idea. Also how great is it that the team is at a point where we can consider putting NATHAN JONES out of the midfield? I'm really looking forward to this year.
  21. I'm thinking of doing this this year. When you say 'watchable', how big is the TV you're using? Obviously the bigger the TV the worse it will look. I've found screen casting is very hit and miss. Native chromecast compatibility is pretty much flawless in every app I've used, but clearly the AFL will never integrate this because it would [censored] off foxtel. Also I assume the sound is still coming from the phone and isn't being cast to the TV? BTW does anyone else think it's completely moronic that we can't just buy an AFL subscription that lets us watch it on whatever device we want? I'd love a native TV streaming app I'm never buying foxtel. Ever. $50 per month to watch 2 hours of footy a weekend? No thanks.
