  1. Much like Orwell's Big Brother, decisions made by the AFL do not need to be based on fact. And if the facts contradict Big Brother, change the facts. I wonder if those who work in the AFL's PR department feel like Winston. The chocolate ration has been increased!
  2. Oh the burn! If anything needed to be a meme, it's this.
  3. lol this is my point OD. I know how bad it is, but for some reason I'm continually surprised when they say and do idiotic and hypocritical things.
  4. From that article: "ASADA has previously provided clear advice to the AFL that he should not be working in that role," an ASADA spokesperson said. Previously provided clear advice. Previously. So the AFL knew beforehand. Then they told the Bulldogs the complete opposite. I don't know how I keep feeling surprised by the AFL's [censored], but I do.
  5. Because I have clinical depression too and I can relate to him. The 'selfish' label is very harsh. When you have an illness like depression, you specifically need to do what's best for your mental health, even if it's to the detriment of others. This is because often a source of depression is trying too hard to please everyone, failing to do so, and then being unable to pick up the pieces (because your brain is quite literally not working properly) when you're ripped in several directions at once. From personal experience, some people in your life will understand this, some will not. If it comes down to being loyal to your employer or doing what's best for yourself, you have to do what's best for yourself. The employer will recover. You might not. Did it hurt when Clark left? Absolutely. Do I hold it against him? Absolutely not.
  6. I can't find it on the website In these new forums just cut and pasting a media link into a post seems to work, the forum converts the link back to the appropriate media. It's made posting gifs and twitter links easier :D
  7. Nah, there's no way Gillon reads Demonland for ideas. He goes straight to Big Footy. Where all the sane ideas live.
  8. The hypocrisy of drug cheats working as 'welfare officers' for AFL clubs in order to be employed and around the club while banned is exactly the kind of behaviour I expect from the AFL. 34 banned players. 18 teams. That's almost 2 extra welfare officers per team! The AFL could sell that to the fans! I make myself sick with these hypotheticals. I think what makes me sicker though is that the AFL's horrendous track record on this issue means it could happen.
  9. I feel sorry for him. The guy immense talent. Some of the games he played for us were unbelievable. I would have loved to watch him play in the same forward line as Hogan.
  10. I live in Berwick, 45 minutes away from the city. Optus coverage has never been a problem for me. Optus is cheaper and gives a bigger data allowance. I have FTTH NBN with Internode, which includes unmetered Netflix and free usenet access.
  11. I think he should be there. After the toweling he gave Rance I think he caught they eye of every opposition backman in the league. Changes the game when he's there. Double team him to negate and leave a hole somewhere, or leave him 1 on 1 and risk him clunking a contested mark. Which he happens to be 3rd best in the league at. You could see it in the Port game, defenders get paranoid with him on the ground.
  12. Depends on who the players doing the voting are I guess. I wonder if Gazza and Selwood would vote for Viney...
  13. Maybe his salary should be linked to fan satisfaction instead of revenue. Nah, the AFL is a business. Who cares about the fans. Moar Money!
  14. I don't know anything about the school. Except that they must have some pretty iffy ethics classes.
  15. Can't believe how good Garlett is, especially for the price we paid. Amazing forward pressure.
  16. Makes me so angry. What sort of example does this set? Someone needs to get the students in that school to take action I reckon. The administration is clearly ok with it. The students should galvanise and say that it isn't good enough having drug cheats training on their ovals.
  17. lol I just edited my post to attend to that BB! Too quick for me! FFS if I attended that school I'd have some pretty strong things to say to school administrators.
  18. Wait wait wait wait wait. A high school? AFL players banned for drug use ARE TRAINING AT A [censored] HIGH SCHOOL?!?! After the AFL specifically told schools they SHOULD NOT employ any of the banned players? I mean, I know they're not being employed, but still, that's horribly contradictory.
  19. I'm still waiting for the clubs to take a heavy handed stand with, you know, the actual drug cheating club. Where's the outrage and condemnation? Oh right, it's Essendon, better keep quiet.
  20. Sure! So we leave the contract talk here and move to the other one for other Hogan talk?
  21. lol, I can image that going down well in team meetings: Coach: We need someone to tag Viney *everyone looks at the floor* Coach: Well, [censored].
