I think it means that our future draft pick trading meant that we stayed above Essendon in the pecking order, not that we kept Oliver from them per se. This allowed us to pick whoever we wanted, which was Oliver. But yeah her wording is odd.

Maybe we need a new stat, like 'clanger goal assists' or something. A stat showing if a clanger resulted in a goal or not. Or maybe a different word it? Like 'clanger' is just what we mean right now, but a 'glanger' is a clanger that directly results in a goal? So Viney/Dangerfield/Ziebell would have might clangers, but Tmac has high glangers.
