I would usually try and defend Dawes, but unfortunately he didn't show anything today. His comments from during the week make it even worse. The difference between his best and worse (like our club and most our other players) is way too far apart. Pederson has played three games this year and has already leapfrogged Dawes. Heck, Hogan has gone beyond him. I want him to succeed but he's not making it easy on himself.

Had a dream last night that we belted Hawthorn by 84 points. Lumumba kicked 6 goals and Spencer kicked 5. We got this!...maybe...yeah alright, probably not.

Neale Daniher was talking about his Motor Neurone Disease on the half time show. Still seems in great spirits but it's sad to see how the disease has affected him. Absolutely inspiring man. Forever a great MFC figure. Thoughts to his friends and family.

Channel 7 re-doing the "Sounds of the Game" segment with Andrew Swallow. Really highlighting now influential and vocal our skipper is when compared to other captains.

Worst team selection in three years? You do know we have the likes of Vince, Hogan, Brayshaw, Salem, Cross and Garlett on out list now. Trust me, we've had far worse. Think of 2013...(shudder).

Makes you remember that there's still plenty to be excited about. Good on him! The addition of a fit and raring to go Petracca and another quality player will be the final pieces of our midfield. Edit: Is anyone still gobsmacked that St Kilda didn't take him (or even Brayshaw) with pick 1? -
I have a strange feeling coming into this game. Not one of optimism nor dread...just a strange feeling.

We have the salary cap to make a play for a gun like Hannebery. Wouldn't mind Tom Mitchell either if we could work out a good trade.

Agree about Garlett and Hogan being set to kick 40 - 50 goals. Makes you think how many they would kick if we kicked it to them more often.

Would seriously consider moving him to the midfield midway through the season if not now. That combination of pure class and hardness is gold.

Now it seems he would be worth way more than those two third round picks Brisbane gave to us in exchange for him.
