  1. Pittard haven't touched it yet. I presume Bail is playing a defensive forward role again.
  2. Similar start to the GWS and Adelaide games. I hope we've learnt how to maintain a lead.
  3. Wingard, Gray and Westoff all yet to touch the football.
  4. When I opened this thread, this is what I was hoping to see. On that topic, Jetta's transformation has been unbelievable over the past 1-2 years. He's gone from a struggling utility to one of the best small defenders in the game. Garlett has been huge for our forward line this year and JKH will learn plenty from him.
  5. Garlands first half against the Dogs was fantastic. Remains a critical part of this team on and off the field.
  6. Can he play? His numbers don't seem too inspiring for a key midfielder playing in the guts. From The Herald Sun: The Demons have shown interest in the inside midfielder, who spent a week training at his old man’s club and was given a fitness program to follow during the early part of the year. Has has a solid if not spectacular season for the Dandenong Stingrays, averaging around 15 disposals a game.
  7. Granted this is from a couple years ago, but it shows that Jack's an impressive young man. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs-H8EKZ55g It's most likely that he's thought that he's in a similar position this year, out of contract and unlikely to receive another by years end. At the moment, it seems like he's gone back to simply enjoying his football. Reinventing himself as a defender might just earn him another contract.
  8. I'm always disappointed to see that set shots are rarely (if ever) nominated for goal of the year. Some set shots require even more skill and focus than most typical running goals. Jeffy's shot from the boundary is one of the best you will ever see.
  9. Just watched the final quarter again and it was honestly one of the best quarters of football (if not the best) that i've seen us play since 2010-11. Jones, vandenBurg, Brayshaw and of course Vince were immense in the midfield. All were hitting targets (Brayshaw had some cracking touches) and crunching the opposition (Reily's tackle outside the Bulldogs' 50 says it all). Both Watts and Toumpas had some important touches as well. Loving the Hogan/Pederson forward combo with Garlett crumbling at their feet. That handball From Hogan was Scott Pendlebery like. He was aware of everything around him and knew that Pedders was running towards goal. Although Garlett didn't have a huge game, he backed his talent and ability to kick the goal from the boundary. (Must've had a couple lessons from Fitzpatick) Speaking of which, how good was Fitzy down back?! That combination of size and speed is a rarity in the AFL these days and he applied it well in the defensive 50. He also allowed Howe to go forward as well where he looks far more dangerous and interested. No complaints anywhere....Bring on the Power
  10. Not too fussed. Yes, Hogan was more deserving this week but there's no doubt he'll be nominated at some stage this year. Chances are that he'll win the bloody thing too regardless.
  11. People suggesting that Brayshaw should be rested. How is he going to get to 400 games with that attitude?
  12. Agree GT, just finished watching the replay and they both played important roles yesterday. They might be considered unlucky with Viney, Jetta and Tyson nearly set to return.
  13. Will finish with 40 goals and maybe a spot in our B&F top 5. He's played an important role in all of our wins so far. Kick it to Hogan more often and we'll win more times than not.
  14. Still plenty of development ahead of Newton. But I'm liking what I'm seeing early. Doesn't hurt when your a midfielder averaging a goal a game.
  15. Pederson - Has surpassed Dawes I still like Dawes but Pederson has played better in his last two games than Chris has since he arrived at the club.
  16. Just arrived back home and have seen the result after having no TV or internet access all day. Go Dees!!! About to watch the highlights for the first of many times. Edit: Highlights watched. Vince is a champ, Spencer is a monster and Hogan is God...that is all.
  17. Wow, who was the genius that gave Carlton four Friday night games in the first eight rounds?
  18. I don't mind Tyson being withdrawn. I would prefer if he miss a couple weeks and get back to full fitness rather than play inconsistent football for the full season.
  19. Seems ironic that Jones goes in hard every single week and rarely if ever gets injured, yet it's gardening that takes him down.
  20. Agree HH. We lack a ruckman who can cover the ground, rack up the ball and take a grab like Jeff White in his heyday.
  21. I want this guy to succeed so badly. He's a ripping guy from all accounts but he can't stand up to pressure. Big 2-3 months for Toump. I can't see another contract coming at this rate...
  22. Still a gun midfielder or two short of being a really good team. Hopefully, we make some serious plays come trade/free agency season.
  23. Add Jetta to that list as well. Really missing him in defence at the moment.
  24. Well, at least we can take comfort in knowing that Gold Coast is worse than us. 2 goals to 17 at the moment against West Coast.
