  1. I think it's clear that when we picked up Bernie, we knew he was an good player whose best years may've been behind him. Saying that, he's easily exceeded all of our expectations and become an even greater recuit than any of us could ever have dreamed of. Bernie Vince will win our Best and Fairest this year and may carve himself a sneaky position in the AA squad if he continues this run of form.
  2. Despite the fact he didn't have a disposal in the first half, I loved Howe's game. Threw himself at everything and helped bring the ball to ground.
  3. Well....this was nice to come home to. Been reading over the results over the last half hour after not checking the scores all day.
  4. Close thread.
  5. He still panics under pressure but what's impressing me with Toumpas is that he's starting to work harder and racking up the footy as a result. That third quarter was nearly as good as any individual performance this year.
  6. 6. Vince 5. N.Jones 4. Hogan 3. Watts 2. Toumpas 1. Cross
  7. Have calmed down a fair bit now... Some baffling errors in that last 40 odd seconds: Jones (our best midfielder) not in the centre while we were playing one on one in defence when we should've had more than half of the team back there ready for the entry. Was delighted Hogan kicked 5 but he should've kicked 6-7 and and hammered the last nail in the Saints' coffin, lord knows he had the opportunities. Saying that, there are plenty of positives: Watts, Toumpas (second half) and Grimes all played their best games for some time and Vince and Nate Jones continue to rack up the ball. Still looking at a 6-7 win season (hopefully)
  8. Would consider subbing on Viv now and really push for a big win.
  9. If Hogan doesn't win the rising star award this year, I'll pry the trophy from Cripps' cold dead fingers.
  10. First time someone has booted 4 for the Dees since Jack Watts did in 2013. Edit: Garlett!
  11. We were probably stupid not to take it last year...
  12. Prepared myself for a loss today so the win feels even better.
  13. What a career turnaround! Went from a struggling utility with a dodgy moustache to being a clean shaven vice captain. Congratulations to Dunny on 150 games! Could be a future 250 gamer for the Dees if he continues playing well in defence.
  14. Depending on form, I wouldn't be surprised if the club played him in a couple games towards the end of the season so he can have a taste of the pace of AFL. If Garland were to leave at years end (hopefully not), O-Mac could be a possible replacement. But I love the idea of having a pair of brothers playing for the MFC again!
  15. I'm disappointed both our number 2 draft picks aren't playing .
  16. Fitzy out. Glad to see. I love him but we were way too tall down back.
  17. Love it! He was an absolute steal in the draft. Can't believe he slipped to pick 40.
  18. I'm unaware of his contract status, but is there any chance we could lure Luke Parker back to Victoria?
  19. How good was Gawns tap to Pederson in the second quarter that led to Bernies first goal?! Gawn has the talent and hopefully he can build a tank. He's still only 23 as well.
  20. First off, congratulations to Lynden Dunn who will play his 150th match against the Saints this weekend. On that topic, I thought I would compile a list of players who are also likely to reach milestones during the remainder of the year. Players who have already reached milestones this season Heritier Lumumba - 200 games: Round 1 v Gold Coast, MCG Jack Watts - 100 games: Round 5 v Fremantle, MCG Cameron Pederson - 50 games: Round 9 v Port Adelaide, Traeger Park Upcoming Milestones (These are based on the assumption that these players will play every game from round 11 to their milestone game.) Lynden Dunn - 150 games: Round 11 v St Kilda, Etihad Stadium Matt Jones - 50 games: Round 15 v Essendon, MCG Dom Tyson - 50 games: Round 19 v North Melbourne, MCG Jack Grimes - 100 games: Round 21 v Carlton, MCG Nathan Jones - 200 games: Round 22 v Fremantle, Domain Stadium Jeremy Howe - 100 games: Round 23 v GWS, Etihad Stadium
