Brilliant game of football.
-
Hasn't even played 50 games yet. He'll improve.
-
I thought Stretch showed some promise off half back. Loved the look of Harmes as well.

6. Cross 5. Hogan 4. Gawn 3. Howe 2. Viney 1. Dawes
-
Looks like Tommy Mac is starting forward.
-
I count only four players from this team that are playing tomorrow. Jones, Garland, Dunn and Watts.
-
Good start but we really should still have Warner out there. Poor cricket from Davey.
-
Brisbane lack a true and established forward target. If Tommy Mac was to be given a week to play forward, it may as well be now. Maybe Fitzy can brought in to fill in down back.

How did you end up following the Mighty Dees?
Demon Jack replied to Frosty Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great thread! 1. The choice was either supporting Melbourne with my Mum or Carlton with my Dad. Happy to say I chose the Dees and I wouldn't have had it any other way. 2. When I was a young-un going to my first football games around 1999-2000, it was hard not to like Russell Robertson. Even from a young age, some of his marks had me standing up on my seat and will forever be etched in my memory. 3. Beating Fremantle from absolutely nowhere to chalk up our first win in 2008. Best game I've seen live (well...the second half at least). 4. 186 (2011) or 148 (2013). No further comment... 5. The Dees are on the right track. Our club is in the save hands of Paul Roos and PJ. Saturday was hugely disappointing but we're getting there....one agonisingly short step at a time. I'll be there next Saturday. Go Dees! -
Vanders in an absolute machine. Hopefully he's been reprogrammed to hunt down and terminate anyone wearing red and black on Saturday.
-
Vanders, H and Grimes are all set to return. Hopefully Gus is alright as well. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-07-07/trio-set-for-return

What is your favourite TV/Radio commentary team?
Demon Jack replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cannot stand BT and Luke Darcy on Saturday nights anymore. Hudson, Sandy along with Dennis and Bruce are the only commentators I can bare to listen to these days. -
Matt Jones and Rohan Bail.... Kent and Vanders can't come back soon enough.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 14
Demon Jack replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really looking forward to the Gawn v Naitanui matchup. If Gawn plays another blinder, we might come close to winning. The Geelong game showed how important it is for ruckmen to take contested marks. Saying that, it's interesting to note that Naitanui has played 12 matches compared to Gawn's 3 yet Maxy has taken 2 more marks for the entirety of the year. -
I think we'll be pushing around tenth to seventh place next year. We're a sneaky chance for finals but I wouldn't bet the house on it.

What a dull and uninspired game of football. -
To be honest, after the emergence of Brayshaw, the thought that springs to mind of Dangerfield joining the Dees is "meh".. Saying that, I ldont mind the idea of Motlop.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)

AFL TV on BigPond Video typically has the game available for viewing for about a week or so. http://bigpondvideo.com -
Seems a bit bizzare for a player to be re-signed only to be traded a few months later. Even though he's not playing at the moment, I would think he's a part of the Swans plans going forward next year and beyond.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)
Demon Jack replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Finished my first of what will be many, many views of yesterday's game. While Vince, Jones and Viney were all immense in the midfield, I loved the creativity and class Jack Watts added to the group. I don't think I've seen him as composed in all the time he's been at the club. Lynden Dunn's influence in the back half was huge. Reminiscent of the Essendon game last year where he was best on ground. Seems to be back to last years form. Spencer and especially Gawn played their best games for the club. I think Gawn finished with 8 contested marks which is ridiculous by anyone's standard. Both also hit the scoreboard which proved to be important as we lacked a real forward target. Garlett may prove be the most valuable addition to the team this year. It's great to have a proper small forward again. Brayshaw is Brayshaw...that is all ANB and Stretch already look like they've both played 100 games each even though they're yet to play 10 games between them. Stretch excites me when he's given some time to run and carry the football and ANB has potential as a small forward/midfielder (ala Ben McGlynn) I mentioned it in another thread, but Jeremy Howe's game impressed me despite him not touching the ball in the first half. Seemed like he was launching himself at everything, crashing packs and bringing the ball to ground. I cannot express how satisfying it is to deliver the final blow to what was Geelong's "golden era". Also a handy time for us to have the bye (I love going into the bye with a win!) -

Has this week's rising star nomination been announced yet? Surely ANB would be a prime candidate?
