This reads like some weird MFC themed haiku.

And like many haikus it is nigh on impossible to work out what the hell it is supposed to mean.

Take this famous haiku by Kobayashi Issa about Stuart Dew for example:

    This world of dew

    is a world of dew,

    and yet, and yet.

    That's an easy one binman.

The traditional Haiku is simple yet complex, steeped in imagery that jaxtapose the conflict in the relationship of 2 ideas or concepts at a single instant in time and looks to provide an intriguing and unexpected outcome or perspective. Here Kobayashi is clearly describing the moment in 2015 when Stuart is offered “yet” rejects the coaching role at Melbourne and thus denying “a world of Dew”.

  2. Andrew Leoncelli, Round 2 2001 vs Adelaide at Football Park goals in the rain after receiving an unbelievable hit out from Schwartz to put the Demons in front with 4 seconds left on the clock.

Interestingly, it was Simon Goodwin who snapped a goal from 45m just 30 seconds earlier to put the Crows in front and to seemingly seal the match.

One of my all time favourite footy moments.

Development is king - in some cases. Not here.

OMac has some traits that allowed him to have six seasons with us. Not a bad intercept marker, a good kick for his size. A good kid with his head screwed on by all reports.

But his lack of strength in the contest has always been a problem. His biggest deficiency by a mile though is his lack of pace. I've lost count the amount of times he would lumber in behind his opponent who'd take an easy chest mark, not to mention the amount of times the ball would sail/dribble past him for a goal when a faster player, heck any player, would have been able to get a hand on it. No development coach in the world can fix that.

I'm not suggesting he goes out there and doesn't try his best, but he doesn't have the intensity required for AFL footy. That game he played in Cairns was almost Tom Gillies like in its badness and thankfully Goody finally saw the light.

I wish OMac all the best, but let's face it. In the past decade only one MFC player has actually gone to a new club and flourished (Jeremy Howe). We overrate our players big time, in most cases anyway.

As far as future prospects go, I really like the look of Joel Smith. Excellent pace, good size and very composed.

Full marks to the encouraging young blokes down on the fence who were calling him "SOS" every time he ran past.

    "Nice goal SOS!!!"

  5. That interview almost brought a tear to my eye.

I loved the way he used the word "our" when referring to the club - "our club"

I don't hear that from Roosy. It sometimes feels like Roosy is outside looking in when he talks about the club - almost like he sees himself as a consultant employed to perform a job and nothing more (which is probably about right). I'm sure he's dedicated to the job but I would love him to embrace the club as McCartney seems to have.

But to all those who imply that talk is cheap, that these interviews mean nothing, and all you want is wins or all you want is a flag..........I'm with you guys 100%.

  6. I tried vegetarianism. My experience was summed up by Dave Hughes who said about becoming a vegatarian "I lost alot of weight.......because there's stuff all to eat.....and I don't like veggies".

I tried the low carbs thing but decided all that meat couldn't be good for my bowels.

I tried intermittent fasting and that worked as long as as I was training.

But everything about diet was trumped by my father who lived through The Great Depression and survived World War II. Whenever i banged on about diet he would look at me with an unsettling earnestness and say "the most important thing son, is to have food". Can't argue with that.

  7. Loved the bonus video, Demon Apocalypse. Was a bit sad that it was 'to be continued' but realised that I had seen end before and It's not pretty

Agreed. I really miss those "Facebook Comment of the Week" videos. They were therapy for me at the time and truly the highlight of the Neeld era. They almost made the whole Neeld era worth it.

When's the DVD coming out Adam?
