  1. Next year will be 3 years too late to recruit ROK. It was highlighted on Monday we need run & carry with elite kicking skills. If we take Brayshaw as we should, after that it's all about trying to find our Paul Seedsman & Nick Malceski as well as a Haydyn Ballantyne.

  2. I think Collingwood showed us yesterday that we clearly need line breakers who can run, carry and have elite kicking skills off half back.

Young, Seedsman, the boy from Hawthorn who runs and kicks it beautifully from Half Back, Kolidjashni from Gold Coast are the type of players we need. 2 of these please.

Plus we need another 2 quality mids who can win their own ball but can run & carry, eg Steele Sidebottom, Dyson Heppel, the Hill brothers etc.

Plus we need genuine small crumbling forward eg Ballantyne, Betts.

We've all hoped Blease, Strauss & Tapscott would fill 3 of these 5 needs but I am afraid not.

  3. As long as we all remember it wasn't just Pick 2 for Tyson & Salem.

It was Picks 2 & 20 for Tyson & Salem. Let's not overlook the fact there seems to be some very good players have gone at 20 and beyond.

Very happy with the deal but maybe too early to call it the deal of a lifetime.

  4. 4 of us go every home game and it staggers me that anyone thought Lynden was ever a delist. I have been a great critic of us not going deep enough into many drafts due to hanging onto some players too long, however, I have never understood the over the top ridiculing of LD on this forum.

  5. Can't recall a Poster getting it so right as big red fire engine has. Has there ever been a game where Grimes hasn't had a couple of clangers.

Brave effort today and a lot to like but we will never be a top 4 side if you have half your back line that could be legitimately called turnover merchants. Read Grimes, MacDonald & Terlich.

  6. Every year there is a better ruck man than Spencer either delisted or able to be picked up for a very late pick. Read Deryckx, Ceglar, Jolly etc etc.

Please desist with the Spencer experiment.

  7. the nomination of 6 players is definitely one too many today when you see players such as Howe, Bail, Jay K-H & Pederson get the 1 point nomination.

Howe & J K-H weren't sighted in the 1st half and played respectable 2nd halves, Bail is another one of our midfielders who just doesn't get it enough and when he does is so poor by foot. I thought Pedo was ok and has moved from SPUD to Serviceable over the last couple of weeks, but to mention any of these players in the context of "getting votes" is laughable.

  8. We must face up to reality and come to an arrangement so we can perform the necessary "housekeeping"

We need to remove this extremely negative distraction of having our highest paid player on a permanent long term injury list.

Unfortunately there is so much more complexity to Mitch than just a debilitating foot injury.

We must face up to our problems and deal with them. Thankfully P J is best at this.

  9. I don't know if the full facts have been revealed or rumoured, however, as Jackson stated on Sunday, playing football is the least of Mitch's concerns. I strongly suspect Mitch will not play this year and quite likely never to play again.

  10. Best 22

    Clisby Frawley Garland

    Grimes MacDonald Dunn

    Watts Jones Cross

    Howe Dawes Hogan

    Kent Clark Viney

    Gawn Tyson Vince

    i/c Michie McKenzie Fitzpatrick

sub anyone from Salem or Jay K H,

The following players are just AFL depth at best

Terlich, Trengove, Blease, M Jones, Georgio

We're in real trouble if we are having to select Spencer, Bail, Tapscott, Pederson

  11. I was also there for entire session and like other posters I am not at all concerned about the players being continually agonised over in the Rehab group. I would expect everybody except Garland to be on track for Round 1 barring any future mishaps.

An example of this was the beautiful work today by Kent. His pace and disposal was a highlight when he eventually joined the main group. Clearly being carefully managed thru his patella soreness and me thinks even he will be good to go for Rd 1.

I think that the Bullies must be travelling real well if they can let Cross go! Probably not what we want, but Cross will probably finish Top 3 in our B & F this year.

I think we have improved our midfield considerably this year, however, anyone that thinks it will be a strength is kidding themselves. I really hope that Tyson plays 20 plus games and the body holds up as he seems to possess something we're so short of, being midfield class. Already got bit of grunt and more coming in with Mitchie, Cross & Riley, just need some midfield class.
