  1. Like many that have already replied I watched the first quarter and then did other things. I was barracking for the Swans. The one thing I am not looking forward to after Hawthorn's victory is Dermie going on about it for months...

  2. Sub AFL standard.. No positives to come from today. Like the supporters can't believe how players could miss shots and handbills. Difficult now with free agency because players have the option to go to better clubs eg. Franklin, Goddard, Dal Santo. Things can change quickly in football. First 14 weeks of the season AFL standard, now virtually back to square-one. PJ never sugar-coated where the club was at. Some players have already put the cue in the rack. Didn't speak to the players after the match. There will be wholesale changes at the end of the year who is up to it and who isn't

  3. I work with lots of Pies supporters. Every win this year it has been, "Oh, it great to see you get a win against...Carlton...Adelaide..." So damn patronising, like we are a basket case. I am just wondering if they will say the same thing on Tuesday morning if we beat the mongrels? I have a good feeling and I think the boys do as well. Jack Watts seemed quietly confident when he spoke about Monday afternoon on "On the Couch". Very upbeat.

  4. Anybody else listen to 'rumour files' on 3AW breakfast?

Ross's rumour, this morning, was that we weren't going to get a PP. Hate to say it, but he's usually on the money.

As the rest of you have said, it's outrageous. Their argument just doesn't make sense. You're a basket case, so you don't

deserve a priority pick. That's exactly when you do deserve one.

    Jeez, two wins all year...

Hawks get Roughy and Buddy (and are about to get a premiership) Pies get Pendlebury and Swan.

    We get zip.

Ross did also say that we were going to have Rodney Eade as our coach...

  5. OTC

Roosy being interviewed as the MFC coach, and special guest to OTC.

Opens with part of the press conference from Friday.

Outlines the contract and Roosy is in the guest chair with Melb gear.

GH asks him about the contract and Roosy talks about what PJ suggested about the role and that was when Roosy started to think about things seriously

GH suggests that Roos wants success in 2 years. Roosy suggests that he is setting up the coach and stability

Ling withdraws from coaching and have spoken to Simpson and Burns. Roos will call them

Neal Craig will not stay. Wants to move on if he didn't get the senior gig

Assistant put in place will be the next coach.

MFC supporters excited Mike wants Roosy to speak to the supporters and Roosy reassures them that this will not be a case like Malcolm Blight. He had knocked back some jobs and the timing is right now to be at MFC

Mike asks what changed? Roos asked to take a pay cut at the Swans - 50 %. Roos acknowledges his time there and things happened to force him to move. Change in the landscape in the job.

Melbourne needs a change in culture - Watts and Sylv important to the club.

Mike asks about the Tony Sheehan issue , about being approached on behalf of the AFL . Roosy approached after Mark Neeld was sacked.

Early draft picks? Yes, on the table and we need talent and we need midfield talent

Change captains? Same reply as usual - what is best for them (jack and Jack) will be what happens.

  6. On the Couch:

Gerard opens the show and introduces Roosy as the MFC coach and congratulates him. Mike jokes and suggests that the announcement was supposed to be tomorrow according to last week's show. Roosy says his wife is due back on Tues and he looks forward to the challenge of being the MFC coach.

    Talking about the pies now...

Will update when they start to talk about the Dees
