  1. From a Carlton perspective, best case, they land Oliver. Worst case, they let everyone know they have the interest and the capacity to land a top line mid. Let's hope it's the latter.
  2. Adem Yze being a Melbourne person is one thing, and, probably the least important attribute. He would come with strengths and experience that we do not currently possess enough of, most notably; Opposition analysis kicking coaching and Game day strategy I couldn't give a rats if he was Tony Antrobus, if someone was available that possessed these attributes, we'd be stupid not to chase him. He absolutely ticks all the boxes.
  3. Or potentially backing themselves to earn bigger $$ at their peak / after consistent performances. So much potential.
  4. I think ‘it’ moved. Awesome!
  5. Seems to have some baggage, I’m a little concerned.
  6. Do you think offers would have been put in front of Rivers and Jackson at the same time as Pickett?? If so, their management may simply advise that their price can only increase and to hold off. Doesn’t mean their not keen on staying. Rivers has captain written all over him.
  7. I would like to see him used more at kick in set plays. Set up at central CHB, and, break to the opposite side of the ground to Gawn for a potential fast play options. We were too predictable and too happy to force a stoppage. It would be nice to try and break the lines and force the ball into attack quicker.
  8. I’d strongly consider moving Melksham to the wing. He has the legs and the distribution. Struggled to get into games this year but also played some defensive roles, my enjoy the freedom. I think if we shifted him to the wing, Hunt could cover the role up forward.
  9. Now that may make more sense if Viney has in fact extended his contract.
  10. Spot on. Seems to have a great balance of competitiveness and composure, well beyond his years. Can see him pushing into the midfield once he develops his tank, and, being really, really damaging.
  11. Out coached and out played. Extremely disappointing but embarrassingly predictable.
  12. I miss the days of going to the footy and watching Lyndon Dunn trying to disguise paddling the ball deliberately out of bounds from the centre square. At least we knew what we were getting.
  13. Could this make Freo keen to pay overs for our pick 3, eg 7 & 10?
  14. Perhaps they cut the tape short; ”I’m looking forward to playing on the G......kicking off at 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon”
  15. Perhaps a ploy to raise the eyebrows of Freo, in a bid to secure picks 7 and 10 for our no 3... It's going to be a long month.
  16. Ahhh [censored] it, i'm not meeting my KPI's anyway; I've done a little light reading, below is a list of all VIC based players mentioned in the thread; Tom 'Basil' Lynch Jack 'Basil' Reiwoldt Joe 'Basil' Daniher Josh 'Basil' Bruce Mason 'Basil' Wood Jack 'Basil' Gunstan Levi 'Basil' Casboult Jamie 'Basil' Elliott Harry 'Basil' McKay Josh 'Basil' Schache Patty 'Basil' McCartin Tim 'Basil' O'Brien Charlie 'Basil' Curnow Ethan 'Basil' Tremblay' Ben 'Basil' Brown Mason 'Basil' Cox Shaun 'Basil' McKernan Luke 'Basil' Breust Tim 'Basil' Membrey Will 'Basil' Hoskin - Elliott Tom 'Basil' Hawkins Jake 'Basil' Stringer Tory 'Basil' Dickson Brody 'Basil' Mihoeck Esava 'Basil' Ratugolea Edit: went a little early without a few names
  17. I agree with everything you've said, we share the same view 100%. However, based on the description provided, not sure Ratugolea qualifies, unlike Hawkins.
  18. Don't be Hawkins Don't be Hawkins Don't be Hawkins Don't be Hawkins Don't be Hawkins Don't be Hawkins
  19. Cats might be looking to make a play for Cameron with Kelly’s compensation. Think they’ve tried before... Hawkins does perform well against us, and, being a Cat through and through, it would surprise. If I’m right, and I’m usually not, I don’t think I’d like it.
  20. This, along with speculation of Langdon and Tomlinson makes me happy. Not so much these specific players, from the outside, it seems we have cash, and, keen to bring in some troops. Unless of course, the reason we have this cash is on the back of a gun leaving.
  21. I think Christian was ok this year, without being great, however, still down on overall projected development. What I noticed as the year went on was his intent. He was taking on players, shrugging tackles, and, his overall energy and aggression at the contest was noticeably different. Previously he would float around the contest like a basketballer, so, i'm hoping he is starting to realize where his value lies. A super fit Petracca (no I'm not saying he's fat) with a clear mind, and, given the mandate to take the game by the ??'s could be just what we need....along with a lower ball drop...
