  1. The group really looks galvanized, don't they?

    There is a sense of 21' with their outward celebration of 1%ers and unselfishness.

    The injection of Windsor has been immense, what a wonderful start to his career. He's clearly been told to back himself and take the game on, but he also has the ability to 'check' his kicks and go to the right option, not blazing away. Very mature young fella with incredible potential.

    Players like Windsor and Howes would have struggled to perform so early in previous Demon teams, so, credit to the boys and the coaching staff / on-field leaders who have made their introduction into the AFL seamless.

  2. 1 minute ago, Chook in Perth said:

    Clayton is a required player. But it's not unconditional.

    He has to decide if he wants to be a walk up hall of famer or a bloke who was very good at footy for a while.

    His choice.

    Oohh boy, now it’s real.

  3. Irrespective of how the criticism has been directed, the underlying fact is, we've fluffed two major opportunities over the past 2 years. It feels terrible because it is terrible, and criticism will continue to come our way until we improve in this area.

    Must win high-pressure games of footy, not provide commentary on reasons why we lost, that just adds fuel to the fire.

    Zip the lips and get to work, show the footy world what we all know we're capable of.

  4. West Coast is in a world of pain and I think picking Reid would work against them;

    • He doesn't want to be there
    • In a 2 team state the pressure will be immense as pick 1 during a huge rebuild, not to mention being the face of it
    • By trading pick 1, they potentially fast-track their rebuild with multiple first-rounders
    • Adding multiple kids will create some comradery ala Oliver / Petracca or Sheezel / Wardlaw, shouldering the load together

    Having said that, I'm not sure he suits us either. He's obviously a gun, but we'd be given up almost everything. Whatever happens, I have no reason not to trust Taylor and Lamb and I think we may see a mini shake-up come season end.

    Granted, we'll be drafting players that may not see a lot of game time initially, but it won't take long before we see a drop off in performance,  I think we're already seeing it. I'd prefer to bring in some kids when well supported by Gawn / May / Lever / Viney / Oliver / Trac etc - The right kids will make it, just like McVee.
