  1. Does anyone know when they release the game times for around 16?
I’ve got a FNQ holiday happening and just checked the schedule to see we’ll be playing in Brisbane. Perfect chance to stopover for an away game.

I’m seriously starting to reconsider going to Richmond games.

Yea the game was spectacular. Petty was brilliant and I think Kozzie has definitely answered all his critics.

But really Tigers fans are getting worse than Pies. All day trying to boo out any cheers we had. Whinging about every decision thinking Dusty can’t do anything wrong (he overcooked his kicks several times) and the claiming the umpires for the win. I was abused by a disgusting fan (more of the tired thing about being female) and they just act feral in general. I never minded coming before they won their premiership, now they’re the worst. I hope we never become like that

I had 2 nuffies sitting in front of me who were saying Gawn was the biggest flopper in the game. Showed that they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about...

You’re correct…Chandler should have got a Free for push in back & kicked a goal but the goal umpire erred as it did hit the post & he paid a goal. Max didn’t kick the goal

I think the goal umpire was signalling a behind, but the field umpire came in and overruled… as the commentators were saying, it would have ended up a goal anyway due to the free kick. But I think it was just the field umpire making a mistake

I don't think players claims or celebrations or lack thereof should come into account.

Ask the opinion of the umpire and that can include other umpires but go by the visual or audio (snickometer) evidence and if it is insufficient then revert to the umpires call.

Whether Lynch's kick was a goal or not the umpire called it goal, the evidence was insufficient to prove either way so the umpire's call whether right or wrong must stand.

In any event they need to invest in better technology in the future so that this type of decision does not cost a team a flag.

It would be a simple fix with cameras in the top of the post looking directly up. Regardless of the angle that the ball comes in, you can tell which side of the post it’s going 🤷🏻‍♂️

If AFL team and VFL are both in the finals together then yes, anyone can qualify.

Had Melbourne not made finals and Casey did then he wouldn't be eligible as he hadn't played enough games.

    Thats a good rule

Well folks, I've just come out of surgery or so it seems,  to have the middle lobe of my right lung removed because of a growth in the collapsed lung and my diaphragm piltrated (stiched down).

Don't want to bore you all with the ****ty stuff, but I must say timing of this operation was of not my doing.

To my elation I was to be at the hospital at 6.30 am Friday to be prepped  for a morning procedure that would  likely last 4 hrs. So I'm thinking start at 9 finish at 1 gimee time to come around to watch the game. Didnt allow for the effects of the ongoing drip fed ketamine and oxycodone .

So to say it appeared as a dream is an understatement. In and out of consciousness but managed to see the whole game (I think) unless I have died and gone to heaven.

I had surgery the day before the Carlton game. I was delighted to find that the in room entertainment system had the Kayo app so I spent my recovery watching all our finals games from last year finishing with the GF just before I was discharged. I was very tempted to go to the Carlton game that night but would have definitely popped all my stitches when Kossie sealed it for us.

As with you Balls and Jaded, calls for Fritta to be dropped are just [censored] silly.

I remember years ago Boomer Harvey was accused of being selfish and not passing off. Norf coach Scott commented that Boomer's instructions were to take the shot if he thought it was on.

Fritta's job is to kick goals ( he does this consistently). The last thing you want is him thinking it through ..... "err should I pass .... should I take it". It is a split second game.

    Take the shot !!!!!!!!

If anyone is going to be wheeling around for a left foot snap I’d want it to be him. He’s there to kick goals. Sure he’s burnt players a few times but I’m happy he’s backing himself. Remember the days where no one had the confidence to shoot so we’d keep giving it off until someone lost the ball…

Those who are calling for him to be dropped either listen too much to David King, or allow themselves to be fixated on a single thing and be blind to everything else that happens

This is stolen from someone in one of the Dees FB pages:

    *************

To all the Fritsch knockers out there:

Bailey Fritsch is an opportunist goal scorer.
If the opportunity is there he will have a shot,

Melbourne's 1st goal in yesterday's match was Kossi's first from a pass from Fritsch.
Melbourne's 2nd goal was a Fritsch snap from a Petracca pass.
Melbourne's 4th and Fritsch's 2nd was from another Petracca pass.
Picket's 4th was from a free from a Fritsch pass.
Melksham's goal in the 4th quarter was a long pass from Fritsch.
Melbourne's 10th and Browns 2nd goal in the 4th quarter was a Fritsch pass to Melksham, to Brown.

Fritsch's stats from the Port Adelaide game:
    15 disposals, 2 goals, 2 behinds, 3 goal assists, 9 kicks, 6 handballs, 5 marks, 2 tackles, 7 contested possessions, 11  pressure acts.

He has kicked 36 goals this year and had 12 goal assists,
and don't forget his 6 goals in the 2021 grand final.
    What more do they expect?

What a grinding win that was.

Kossie, you are a little ripper. 3 Votes for you.

Forward connection still a problem. Thank heavens for our backline.

Melk.... your chase/rundown was something i didnt think you had in you.

    I'll take that.

I reckon there was a split second at the start where he was about to give up. Then he heard Goody's voice inside his head reminding him that everyone needs to put in that extra effort for the team.

  9. You forgot to mention our AFLW pickup of Rhi Watt. Ex captain of Saints. Was dumped by them while in rehab for knee injury. Dees were more than happy to pick her up while she won’t even play this season. She would have played with Shay Sloane for the Australian Volleyball team. I know her from playing volleyball back in the day. She’s got a great sense of humour and will be a great player to have around the club.

Personally I think both are about right

Chandler pinned the arms and tackled him head first into the ground. Crazy dangerous despite a lack of intent. By pinning the arms he has a duty of care to make sure the opponents head doesn't whack into the ground. Imagine the uproar here if it was the other way around and our bloke got ko'd or your son - would not be happy one bit.

Liam Ryan only takes 1-2 steps into the bump. It was certainly an intentional bump with bowzas head down. However ther really isn't much force in it and bowey isn't injured. Clumsy bumps happen regularly - he's lucky that he didn't generate more force into the bump and didn't connect. End result is a high contact low force knock - 1-2 weeks for mine - he got the lower end. I'm strangely OK with it

Surely the intentional part of it bumps it up

Goldie also, she goes in hard when she sees an opportunity. I think she has started to play herself into a bit better form now she has a couple of games under her belt.

How about that dive into the bottom of a pack and extraction of a perfect handball to a nearby player who delivered it into 50?

Alas, Perry only reopened the country after 200 years of Sakoku (era of isolation) in 1853. I believe prior to that Christians had been expelled from the country or if they were here by some way, they were living on the island of Deshima in Nagasaki prefecture.  😁 😉

The KFC for Christmas thing, I believe, started sometime in the '60's (?) when some US military types wanted to make an authentic Christmas dinner. With globalization not having kicked off entirely and the country still rebuilding after WW2, the nearest equivalent they could find was the dirty bird. For some reason, it caught on with the mainstream populace and fried chicken has been what you eat for Christmas dinner ever since.

Also to clarify, I've just discovered we are getting our fried chicken from a local joint in the country town I live in. You actually have to reserve it a good one month in advance from KFC to have any chance of picking up your 24 piece bucket. We were a bit late in getting in the queue.

When i was living in Japan in my early 20's we used to love the Fried Chicken from Lawsons (equivalent of 7-Eleven). I think it was in a dirty/good way 😄
