Priority Pick anyone??? as I duck for cover.
-
Probably right but he doesn't deserve one at the moment.
-
Sylvia will be lucky to get a game against us.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-06-29/nascar-losing-sponsors-and-money-despite-loyal-supporter-base/5556126 Just thought I would post the link. I was reading this before, although not the slightest bit interested in NASCAR I noticed many parallels to the way the AFL are running footy or some say ruining footy. Fans priced out of games, constant rule changes, trying to appeal to non traditional markets and disenfranchising their constituent market etc... The wash up is that they are losing fans, sponsors and TV coverage. I thought it might be of interest to some on Demonland.

Might be paid for interference, the problem for me is that all these interpretations are coming into the game and they're not actual rules.
-
Interesting, so those players trying to mark are really trying to spoil.
-
Just a question on the rule book...is there a rule called unrealistic expectation or is it another interpretation just made up and accepted by the commentators. Just saw one in the Coll/Carl game. I don't remember there being such a rule, maybe I'm wrong. Or is it what that modern day genius Der Wayne says is not a rule but an interpretation. Anyone out there able to help me understand the rules or have a Lamborghini that needs fixing.

Might have been the Malcolm Blight bad ball theory. Early in the game Vince, Watts & Murphy all shanked the ball and these are 3 of the best kicks in the game.
-
McCartin is the pick of the bunch, has a touch of mongrel about him like Hogan.
-
I thought it was going to go against him, he ran towards the line from a long way out. I think he was looking for options and was under no pressure at first but when he didn't find any and some pressure came on he took the point for safety. The Dustin Martin one a fews weeks back where he hand balled from 15 to 20 metres out was a definite, this one was debatable but I can see why it was given. Bail's indecisiveness cost him.
-
Lucas gave him 3 votes today as clearly best player on the ground.
-
I wouldn't 'pickett', if he gets another shot he's worked hard to deserve it. Good luck to him.
-
Probably the only class player on the ground today. His decision making is a step above.
-
I know this will be unpopular but having met Wayne a number of times through work I found him to be a good bloke. I was quite surprised the first time I met him after reading all the bad press and seeing him on the tele. Unfortunately I've met some so called Melbourne champs, one in particular who were absolute .....arrogant would be a starting point.

Players to target at the end of the year
rjay replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he is too big a risk all up and would have to question why he wants out after Freo have stuck by him to date. -
No you can't have it both ways. You back Newton because of SANFL form yet can Toumpas who also had good SANFL form. According to your logic on Toumpas SANFL form is no indicator of a players ability and really it's even less so on Newton who's exposed AFL form was nowhere near good enough. He was always a good VFL player but never up to scratch as an AFL player. I'm disappointed with Toumpas' output to date and expected more on the back of his SANFL performances. What it shows me is that there is a big step up from SA footy to the AFL. Toumpas has time on his side to make the grade, Newton has had his time..let him be a big fish in a small pond.

In general you are way off track but this comment in particular adds nothing to the debate. If the players are reading stuff put out for members they should know better and if they don't get more critical comment at the match reviews then they should. The relationship with Casey seems to have stalled and maybe the fault is on both sides. The club (MFC) need to put in to make it work or if it is unworkable then pull out. Only the club will know whether the relationship is positive or not, we are only going on the scoreboard which whilst it isn't good may not tell the true story.
-
What do you suggest? It's easy for people to say quit it but does that really answer the problem and are we in a position to do it? Do we take over or do we try and work a solution including investing in some good VFL players to bring the squad up to scratch?
-
Toumpas was BOG a few times as a 16 yo in the SANFL, don't you love him 'picket'?
-
If Barry comes in he will take McCrae.
-
I think the jury should still be out on the youth coming through 'nut'. There are a few I would rate like Guthrie and Duncan but can they be the next Bartel, Corey, Enright etc? Where are their key position players, if Hwkins goes down they are in big trouble. Hawthorn will be looking to top up their list with free agents but how long can this strategy work? we don't know yet.
-
Maybe Barry will take the tag on McCrae this week, it's the type of job he has been doing at Casey. Cross did it last time.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
rjay replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I get the same feeling 'Jack'. -
I wouldn't. I'm happy for them to keep screwing up.

Was watching Gary Wilson talking about this on open mike a couple of weeks ago, and having been in a similar position as him with numerous concussions I think if someone has been dazed or lose some comprehension for however short a time they should not play a further part in the game.
