Got off to an early start... -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
rjay replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who will it be next week...it was Mathieson last week, Oliver this week. I can't wait until the next batch of AFL videos come out so you can tell us who the next mistake of the decade will be. -
What pick can we get Gilbee for?

If Goodwin & McCartney think he's worth it then we should trust them on this...my only reservation is what WADA have to say. -
Happy with both of them 'rpfc', I think Tyson is a bit stronger in tight over the ball but Viney harder at his attack on the ball. My original post was in response to someone calling Tyson an outside mid which he clearly isn't.
-
Not yet, maybe in 2016.
-
Tyson is our best inside mid...
-
Forget about it, if Martin wasn't such a d.... then him.
-
We won't have to worry about picking him up. Funny how the profile talks about him compared to Kelly at a similar stage, from the games I watched Kelly was a far better prospect. I guess time will tell.
-
I would add CS & the board to that list...

Thankfully... -
I'm not a fan, has some good games but falls into the category of athlete not footballer for me.
-
I reckon Brayshaw, Tyson & Petracca for a start...but time will tell.
-
I rate him as a good hard at it ball getter, he reads the ruck contests well but his kicking is all over the place at the moment. Do we need another hard inside mid?
-
What a great look away...sucked him into the kick then pulled off the smother. Cornes always rated Hartlett as a future Brownlow winner...injuries have held him back a bit but he would be a good get.
-
Don't know where all this Vince v Hartlett stuff is coming from but Hartlett is a gun...would be a real bonus if we could get him.

That might be the case. I think it more important that we are not after Melksham if he is part of the WADA case. It doesn't take a footy expert to figure it wouldn't be a good move to recruit him if he was. Don't remember significant criticism, maybe some reasonable discussion on whether we should have taken a kid with his pick. There was more criticism of the 'H' trade, and so far that is hardly a winner. At least on ground. -
They always have a 2nd ruck so don't need him to pinch hit but he has a lot of talent. Anyway, as I say I was just thinking aloud. Freo will have to give up something if they want to get McCarthy... I don't think we need a ruck/forward, we do need a forward who can pinch hit in the ruck.

Totally agree... -
Taberner...wonder if we will get involved in the move to get McCarthy to Freo. They won't have enough currency unless they give up a player or 2 but GWS will need picks to satisfy their academy bids. Just thinking out loud.
-
I think this one will have some surprises at the top end. Instead of Hogan & Cameron we might have a few Ace Cordy's...
-
With Fitz being moved on and Dawes maybe on the trade table if rumours are correct we will definitely be in the market for a tall forward/ruck... I don't think this is the one but am interested to see what we do over the trade period.

If he is one of the players involved in the WADA case then we can't look at him. It's really that simple for me.
