What a great look away...sucked him into the kick then pulled off the smother. Cornes always rated Hartlett as a future Brownlow winner...injuries have held him back a bit but he would be a good get.

Don't know where all this Vince v Hartlett stuff is coming from but Hartlett is a gun...would be a real bonus if we could get him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
rjay replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
That might be the case. I think it more important that we are not after Melksham if he is part of the WADA case. It doesn't take a footy expert to figure it wouldn't be a good move to recruit him if he was. Don't remember significant criticism, maybe some reasonable discussion on whether we should have taken a kid with his pick. There was more criticism of the 'H' trade, and so far that is hardly a winner. At least on ground. -
They always have a 2nd ruck so don't need him to pinch hit but he has a lot of talent. Anyway, as I say I was just thinking aloud. Freo will have to give up something if they want to get McCarthy... I don't think we need a ruck/forward, we do need a forward who can pinch hit in the ruck.

Totally agree... -
Taberner...wonder if we will get involved in the move to get McCarthy to Freo. They won't have enough currency unless they give up a player or 2 but GWS will need picks to satisfy their academy bids. Just thinking out loud.

I think this one will have some surprises at the top end. Instead of Hogan & Cameron we might have a few Ace Cordy's...
-
With Fitz being moved on and Dawes maybe on the trade table if rumours are correct we will definitely be in the market for a tall forward/ruck... I don't think this is the one but am interested to see what we do over the trade period.

If he is one of the players involved in the WADA case then we can't look at him. It's really that simple for me. -
Not slow 'George', but has yet to find a place as you say.
-
You don't think Dom Tyson would have the same valuable information???
-
He's lost it more times than just this year 'steve', you can refuse all you like. Yes he has talent and speed but his kicking is either not so good or lazy at times and he has absolutely no idea when the ball is in the air. He's not what we need but could be an asset in a team like the Tiges where he won't be relied on as much.
-
Forget Yarran 'steve', if you are worried about sook factor & bad attitude then he has it in spades. Neither of the rucks you mention are forwards, both need the number one role so unless you want Max back at Casey then a no for them. Love 'Stevie J', one of the most enjoyable players to watch since Jurrah left the game but I'm not sure he brings leadership.
-
He's become a valuable player for us now. Can play forward, drop back when we need an extra, play across the middle and a very good 3rd man up. He will only get better from here on, I hope it's with us.

Out of that list Watts has the most value by far, I would keep him...but, you can never say never.

Nice move by Carlton... The Gibbs Cup, the Kruezer Cup, the Schache Cup... Not sure but isn't there a common thread here? now what is it....ummmm ...and another unrelated question...who is the Chairman of the AFL? which club did he play for? it's some guy that stands for integrity, good manners and ....it's just not coming
-
Underrated by the EFC fans but I reckon he's ok but probably not in the age profile we're now after.
-
Was thinking along similar lines the other day 'Chaser'. Always worth asking the question...
-
Tomlinson took Dawes to the cleaners when they played against each other last year...
-
Bring his brother to Melbourne 'Mach' and then they can be close... Although KK is supposed to have a big overs offer from Brisbane so that is more likely.
-
Very funny 'steve'...should text that one into KB I'm not that interested in where a player sits in club B&F's, particularly Carlton. There are some on our list playing at Casey that polled well in the past. I agree with 'Redleg', he is a dumb, lazy footballer who picks and choses when to go. He has the leg speed but he would have to be the most embarrassing player to watch when the ball is in the air. It's not that he ducks his head, it's that he seems to have no idea where the ball is once it leaves the ground.
-
I wouldn't go with Yarran, I just don't rate him as some. By the by, I notice the Denham has jumped off him after prematurely proclaiming him a champion a few years back. Would definitely look at Anderson, may need to do a Kennedy, McGlinn, Mummy deal to get him. He would definitely be in Hawks succession plans.. The ruck/forward role would be good to fill, maybe King is being groomed for it but if so they need to give him more ruck time at Casey. Sinclair was the one I was looking at last season but he's really locked in his place at WC now.
-
I would say Yarran has elite speed 'steve', that's it for the elite category for me. He's an inconsistent talent, a bit hit or miss in the kicking dept. probably more to do with a lack of intensity and being a bit lazy and he has absolutely no idea when the ball is in the air.

Mentioned this one somewhere before but would look at going hard on Jed Anderson...
