Would prefer Sanderson as he has had a successful working relationship with McCartney in the past....

Lennon looked really good as a kid, he's stalled for some reason. The Tiges certainly could be part of the problem and you seem to be saying injury is another. If the FD get into him I'm happy with that but just because he was pick 12 and a good player at junior level is not enough for me. We should know that better than any other supporter group.

I can't see any of them being worth much if anything 'steve'...

GC want players, not an unproven 2's player. If I was them I would look at pick 6 and Ellis perhaps. They would then be looking to offload 6 for another good mid. I'm not a big fan of what Ellis has put out the last few years but he needs a change of coach.

A talented kid but at this stage looks headed down a similar path to Blease, Struass, Gysberts.......maybe too far gone.

Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?

He has to be able to get a game though 'DV8' and I think he would struggle next year. -
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?

We need leadership no doubt. I would be looking at someone around the 26yo age group. Watching Thompson the other night, I think he is done and another year is not going make him any better. -
Didn't seem to bother Cross...with McCartney. McCartney wants a senior gig, even went for one last year. Any problem with him?
-
Maybe take him on as a junior assistant but.... One thing I've learnt from our previous 10 years, with a new coach who has never coached before it's not the time to be blooding new assistants. Even Roos brought his own experienced team.

I think your money will be safe 'daisy'....apparently this investigation has been going on since 2015. Surely it can't be that hard.

Rohan Connolly shames pathetic Dee's and Tiges
rjay replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
No excuses but this is the thing that concerns me most... We don't have enough senior leaders, they're not putrid, we only have 2 & it's way too much asking them to carry the load &/or blaming them. Our senior players apart from Jones & Vince are not good enough to get a game, we need to address it this trade period. A couple of quality 26yo will help. Previous attempts to address this imbalance have been mixed. We did pick up Vince, thankfully. Dawes & "H" are a bust. Crossy was terrific for a couple of years. -
Wonder how Ed will suck up to Balmy if Gubby goes down...

Pendles deserves it...

Has a lot to learn but still young with plenty of time on his hands. To me he needs to learn when to go and when not to, to open his eyes a bit more and take some pressure off himself.
-
Great news and well deserved. Good work Jack you're a true champion...

This comment is patent rubbish... "However, the 28-year-old is confident he has overcome the injury problems that dogged his first three seasons at Melbourne" He's missed too many games again this year through injury and/or "player management" for this to be the case.

Grimes and Trengove future rests with Goodwin
rjay replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, and you still don't trade out a first round pick...particularly in a strong draft which next years is. You want to trade down to a 2nd round pick and a couple of depth players you say are not best 22. So in other words we give away a first round pick for a 2nd rounder...I don't think so. -

You don't pay a future first round pick for depth 'stuie'. ...by the way, we're not interested in Tomlinson. Have told you this before and believe it is still the case. -
'Joey' Kennedy mark II....I think he has a few more tricks than you think he does. ...best years are ahead of him.

Can't stand the guy but Boomer would be a much better role model than Stevie J.... Would he add anything to our long term success? by this I mean would he leave a legacy or just one year of good footy? I guess this is the Q 'dazzle'.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
rjay replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think we've got clearance players 'Andrew', just don't think we played it smart today. I would have put Vince on to Gibbs early in the first Q to cut his effectiveness and cut him out from going 3rd up. However, I don't know what the agenda was in the box. It might have been more about the learning experience. -

Pretty obvious after todays game that we need someone like Hibberd. -
The Royal Scam is one of my favourites, love Carlton's solo on Kid Charlemagne...his best work for me is when playing with 'Dan' and 'The Crusaders', his solo stuff can be bland. The track 'Aja' is the highlight on that album for me.
