...and Terlich finished 3rd in ours a few years back. Collingwood were a very average team this year and Howe was one of their better defenders, whilst not a great kick he was entrusted kick in duties at Collingwood. Shows more about them than him. Not sure it backs up your point about him as a quality player. I thinks he's not a bad player, quality is probably pushing it a bit.

I think we are using the category B picks well with Smith & Maynard. If we find a good Irish prospect so be it but as 'Sat' says they are a bigger flight risk...

You almost had me until "Lloyd (on-field)"...

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS

Good luck collecting... -
He might have worked harder than anyone else but no one is going to build an elite tank in 8 weeks away from the club... Remember this is only the first week of his first full preseason.
-
I think they are both talented young players. In making your point on Parish though I think you pushed it a little bit over the top by insinuating not all clubs would be keen on Oliver. If he was OOC I would be more than surprised if he didn't have the same level of interest as Parish. ...by the way, I haven't contacted all clubs to confirm my thinking here.
-
Yep, agree. More that I don't see the point in De Boer if we are letting Grimes go. Given it's a Hagdorn rumour probably nothing to it.
-
I guess the successful team thing is all that he has over Grimes. If we were looking to rookie him I would rather throw Jack a lifeline if no one else picks him up.

Follow your own line of thought 'stuie', I was answering your question about me.
-
I work for myself 'stuie', which means I work for the people who want to pay for my services. If my service is not up to scratch or I am out of favour then it reflects in what I make. If you work for a company (not government) then whether you understand it or not the financials of that company have an impact on your salary. If the company is failing for whatever reason then chances are you will get the ultimate pay cut.

You must be a government worker 'stuie'...

It's going to be interesting to see how this goes. From a personal point of view I'm not particularly interested in watching the womens game. I think it's a good thing that we are involved as a foundation club and will support our team from afar but that's about it for me. Now I'm not really into popular culture as such and would be the last person to say I have a handle on what the public wants. I would be a terrible TV programmer, I would scrap the footy show and get rid of all those cooking shows and so called reality TV shows. All a raging success. Because of this I don't profess to know how the womens game will go. I don't think we will really know where the womens game sits until after a couple of seasons at least. At that time we would know how much money is being brought to the table (currently the AFL's table) and how it should be divided. Currently the game is riding on the back of the AFL. Without the AFL name there would be no TV, no sponsors. This has to mean something, so lets see where it settles and if it's the success many think then the rewards will follow.

If we had Minson, on VFL GF form he would be our 2nd in line.
-
It was a one off 'stuie'. Lets wait and see how the figures look at the end of their 2017 season.
-
The ruck is a liability but picking a someone who is going to take time to develop is not going to help us. We already have King in this role...
-
A leading question 'Bob'?
-
Interesting opinion 'Bob', probably close to the mark. I would add work rate to contested ball as a major requirement. He definitely needs to work harder against the good defenders to create that space for himself. He's got the pace to do it so he will be interesting to watch in 2017.
-
He may be injury free now but you could almost guarantee that he wouldn't be by the start of the season. ...and we can't employ ex players just because we like them. He has to have a role to play. Chris is looking to continue his playing career, it will be interesting to see if another club picks him up. As far as we go, we've definitely made the right call.

Big jump from if to that Ron... We don't know the details and a lot are basing their posts on a rant made by a kid who appears to have problems.
-
There was some talk around of us being interested in Josh Watts in earlier posts. I wonder if we are still interested? If he could get his injuries under control he certainly shows a bit and would be well worth looking at as another tall defence option.
-
Just shows that despite all the talk of the great Clarkson and Hawthorn culture you win some and you lose some. There were a few on here concerned about Fitz going to Hawthorn and how he would materialise into something he was not. In the end he has been better than most, he's played at the highest level but hasn't been able to sustain his career any longer despite being sprinkled with the Hawk magic dust. Enter Ty Vickery, will the magic dust transform him...doubtful.

Wearing a hat...must be bald.

Time for him to move on... If he wants a coaching career I think it should be at another club. Our FD list is well balanced currently and we don't need a novice coach. Our team is now past needing someone to absorb the physical pressure, particularly if they are not on the ground (injured) and more particularly if the opposition defenders don't show you any respect.

North is a positive... I think they will finish bottom 4 this year.
