When "The Footy Show" started the idea was based on the old "World of Sport", mixing football with larger than life personalities like Dyer, Davis and Richards among others. Light on football & personalities it has fallen way short of that goal.

I hope he sees more than Jack (Viney) did with Jimmy Toumpas. Whilst Max might have been consulted I doubt his opinion would have carried the weight a lot on here seem to think.

Dawes played very few games at Casey, so I wouldn't count his contribution. Maynard will add a lot to Casey this year as will the improvement of Smith and I see King being a much better prospect than Mcinnerney plus we have Filipovic in the wings. Grimes and Michie were terrific contributors last season and will take some replacing but the new signings should cover them. Who knows what role injury will play this season coming but... I think the Scorps will be ok.

I may have to eat my words a few years down the track but I don't think McInnerney is up to it, nor likely to be. He did well to get a few games in at VFL level but that's as far as I see him going. I would be looking elsewhere for the backup ruck.

'Hemingway', most of us have made poor decisions in life. Just not in the public limelight. Some decisions hurt others, some are irresponsible and often selfish. In Gary's case the story we got was that he had an affair with Billy's ex wife... I would think Gary's wife and family would have felt hard done by and betrayed if they were still together (I don't know these circumstances). Whether or not they were Billy took the moral high ground, seeming to claim some kind of ownership of his ex wife which is more of the boys club attitude to my mind. As some on here will know, I'm not a Gary fan at all but I don't think what he did was a hanging offence. Just another situation that shows footballers for all their ability on the field are just normal people off it.

Speaking of Garlett... Where is he? haven't noticed him in the training reports.

I wouldn't be reading too much into this 'Lucifer', Worsfold like Roos is a master of "smoke & mirrors". Don't know what the end game is here but you can guarantee the headline isn't it.

The Tiges have come through a period where they overrated their list. They were good enough to make a few finals but not to win one. They've made some poor decisions, they overpaid for Yarran (I thought so at the time so this episode has no bearing on my thoughts) and Hampson to name a couple. ...but their biggest mistake was in re signing Dimmer. They were too scared and scarred to make the move they should have made a couple of years back. Balme will add some stability but will he have enough time to turn them around?

...and Terlich finished 3rd in ours a few years back. Collingwood were a very average team this year and Howe was one of their better defenders, whilst not a great kick he was entrusted kick in duties at Collingwood. Shows more about them than him. Not sure it backs up your point about him as a quality player. I thinks he's not a bad player, quality is probably pushing it a bit.

I think we are using the category B picks well with Smith & Maynard. If we find a good Irish prospect so be it but as 'Sat' says they are a bigger flight risk...
