It was BH who claimed Pederson would be the recruit of the year. He has changed tact since round 1. BH is a dribbler at best.
-
This is a very simple way of looking at the politics of that time BH. For a self confessed intellectually superior person, you sure do look at things in a simple way WJ put it perfectly in another post. The Kennett bandwagon must have informed you the crap your dribbling in this thread.

This is the man who crippled the states Community Services. But hey... as long as the state improved its credit rating all is forgiven

The idea of this was good, but the exercusion was awful. Cringe worthy. I hope its the last time I get to see this.

I think Satryicon took offense to the Nic Nat reference to Jack Watts and is sick of the abuse some players cop on this site and takes a more positive view on the club. From what I have read, he watches football for the enterainment it provides. This does not mean he has little understanding on the game. RR has stated the obvious in his OP, I would go as far that all 46 players need to lift for this club to become competative. I see merit in most points of view in this thread. except the personal attacks. On that note BH has stated he sits in the political right corner of politics. So did Hitler!! Just saying :-) -
I have no idea who the microscope is on other than (maybe) Davey and Sylvia. But Neeld keeps on selecting Sylvia, so maybe not?? Pls enlightne me on who you say 'everyone knows'. Again, another broad comment with no substance

The only resinence from 186 is from the supporters who cant move on! The MFC is a completely different place to that day that led too 186. Yes some players and administrators may still exist, but that does not mean the club isnt singing from the same hym book now. If any players exist from this period and is being a continuing pain in the arse, Neeld would see past this and they will be banished to Casey until their contract is complete. WYL you harp on about 186 and use this as the means to provoke change. Stuie asked you a simple quesion. Who should the club be rid of that is still is at the club. Name players! From your constant reference to 186 I would suggest you have put some thought into this. Cough up and answer the question. If you cant, stop referring to this game
-
Regardless of why or how Tom left the club, for me the bigger question is why have the AFL agreed to fund such a contract. For me its negligence that Scully is in the top 10 paid players in the league. I think SEN said that Buddy is holding off his contract as stats said that 9 players last year received over a million dollars. Scully is one of them How can Scully receive more than Buddy? Its wrong! what makes it more wrong is the AFL is paying, not pokies revenue (or what ever else). In other words, The other 17 clubs in the AFL are compensating his contract. Including th MFC. Why is the club (indirectly) paying part of his wage?

If you could have one past player?
Demonsterative replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
If I could have back one past person, I'd have Norm Smith as coach -
It seems that Neeld is playing his cards close to his chest with NAB selections. Its a pity he only holds two two's. Somehow I dont think other AFL coaches will fears his hand as the player list is on show, and a third of the team has never played together!
-
I'm a little confused about your choice of words rpfc. In was never comparing Jordie to a grade one illiterate student, you were right with the metaphor part though.
-
Its just like Grade One. Show the apptitute and dedication therefore you pass and go through to the next grade. Doesnt matter that you cant read, write or are not toilet trained.

Grimes was average but the main thing IMO was getting on the park for a full season. He disposable is not in the same leagues as top 4 sides, but I agree it was movemet in theright direction. I've already stated why I think Jones was a relevation last year. Royal can take some sredit for this, but at the end of the day our midfield stats based against 17 other teams is very poor. Sorry RPFC, the stats coming from the AFL present a compelling argument as to why Royal isnt making enough of an influence. The argument regarding cattle only emphasises that he is unable to develop at a rate other coaches can. Look what Ratten did in one year at the club

Will Neale Daniher ever coach again?
Demonsterative replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Every F*#king supporter was there WYL. If it be watching on TV, sitting with the sponsors (BTW, only sponsors get suitable seats on Grand Final day)or ppl like yourself who would have sat somewhere near the back row of the Great Southern. We know what happened, we got flogged by what should have been one of the modern great teams in history. BTW, the best seat in he house is always the TV. Good commentary and analysis from experts. I would never trust your analysis becaue you sat and watched the game live. 15000 of your post are forgetable (and I'm being generous), why would I trust your opinion coz you watched the game live. You have a simplistic way of looking at things. We gotflogge equals ND being a bad coach. For the sake of this site hold back on the posts and wait until you have something intelligent to say -

The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah
Demonsterative replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would suggest that Liam was exposed to alcohol well before he reached melbourne (town). Either way, I have worked with people who have addictions for decades. One issue is the blaming of others for their predicament. This just means Liam is pre contemplative with his issue and will struggle for a while yet,or at least until he takes responsibility for his own behaviour -

You may be right in parts Dee-luded. But there is another side to your story Robbo - kicked bags of goals. As a HFF kick over 50 goals. Yze - All Aust with a fantasic left foot White - his athletic ability was amazing before the new circle rule for ruckman. HE was also very well known for his ability to play as an extra midfielder. Something other uckman could not negate. Nieta - His ability to lead men on field was very good. Always put his body in and hurt the opposition physicallly. kicked bags of goas. All Aust as CHB and FF. Games and goal record holder. In short, club champion I could go on but I will agree Danners went down hill in the end of his tenure. But his early years were very very good. -

My memory may serve me wrong, but didnt our backline fall to pieces in 2001 due to injury? Ingerson retired due to injury and we didn't have a replacment. Was that the year a very young Chris Lamb played as the only KPB and Bizzell was playing CHB at 187cm (or there abouts) tall. If this is the year, Danners played an all out offensive game with the knowledge our backline could not hold teams to low scores. So he focussed on offense trying to kick 20 goals a games outscoring the opposition. I would have thought that his coaching was inventive and creative knowing that he had to work to his strengths rather than allow the opposition expose our very inefficient weakness in the back half. If my memory is correct Danners coached very well in 2001. He knew he didnt have the backline to win a premiership, but he took the team into finals despite the backline falling to pieces. Either way, I'm not sure how 2001 is more important than 2000. 2000 was a bloody good effort against a team that only lost 1 home and away game. We were underdogs against the Blues who were full of stars in the prelim. Bruce and Green won us games as 1st year players in that finals series too. -
Is 3rd best tall backman IMO. He is behind Frawley and T Mac. He played some good consistent games down back last season. He is worth perservering with in a BP, or on the Gorilla's. He can also be the swingman and go forward but is better suited down back. He has very good skills too. Something that is needed down back. IMO, he played a VFL level game yesterday and should have dominated considering the opposition.

I read in one thread about Royal not having the cattle, but Daniher didnt have the cattle either. Yes he had Yze, Green, Robbo and Nietz who was our best player. But Nieta was a very very good player, yet he was not a Hird, Buckley, etc etc. Daniher got the best out of the squad he had. A very good coach IMO. His big failure was not caoching a solid defensive unit. But he never had the cattle to be defensive. -
I hope there is a change this season Rjay. I was surprised Royal wasn't given the boot at the end of last season, so it does indicate Neeld sees something in his abilities. Also, I wasn't baseing any of my arguments/concerns on 2013. All my concerns come from seasons past. Having said that, Neeld sees some value in Royal but the jury is still out if Neeld can perform as a head coach. Yes the club has turned its training regime around. The culture is improving and the club is a much more proffessional unit, comparing it to other clubs. But I think Misson and Craig have had a massive say in these improvement. I have said in other threads that I am sick of watching my club and only looking at potential. I watch a game and look for our youth to see the potential coming through. As they grow older and do not perform, I switch my focus on the newer recruits. I want to cheer the out put of players. I want Trengove dominating. I want to see McKenzie nulifying Ablett, yet gathering 30 possesions that hurt the opposition. I want Jones to perform at the same level year in year out. I want to see Blease play a Jetta type role on the wing. I want to see Nicholson wearing down his opponent and kicking goals in the 4 quarter. ETC ETC I'm sick of looking at our board and FD and looking at the changes they make. I'm sick of hearing the club has increased it FD funds but not seeing it transfer out on the ground. The fact is that under Royal the midfield is still 3rd world. He has been the midfield coach for a while. I expect to see our midfield develop and I'm yet to see that. I dont blame Royal 100%, and yes there are other factors, but be it a 1st round draftee, or a rookie, or many injures. Improvement is minimal compared to other clubs. I'm not really interested in shiny new coaches, and I'm not interested in rusting old coaches either. RPFC wants an argument why to get rid of Royal and some have made relevant points. I would like to hear an argument on why he should be kept. I dont care what he has done at other clubs. The argument needs to be with what he has done at our club.
-
I dont see the midfield working as a co-hesive unit RPFC. And, we can go down the bad recruitment vs bad development issue, but its been done to death. The midfield has been our achilles heel for years and Royal has had enough time to work some level of magic. One other point, Neeld has mentioned our lack of run and spread thruoghout 2012. In 3 games in the NAB, this has not improved well enough IMO. We have recruited some very good midfield prospect this year and we cannot afford to stuff this up, again
-
Assistant Coaches are very important. Ratten turned around an under performing midfield into a very good unit in one year at the club. I would love to see Cameron Ling prized away from commentary into our midfield coach next year. He is a smart likable person who knows how to lead men.
