WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BERNIE VINCE
Demonsterative replied to Ted Lasso's topic in Melbourne Demons
Two years of very good trading, hiring and drafting Viney at pick 26 (steal) Toumpass (went one place later than expected) Hogan (mini draft) Dawes (solid player) M Jones (impressive first season) Terlich(impressive first season) Tyson (a good get whilst keeping a first round pick) Minchie (highly rated by many clubs) Vince (better than Sylvia) Pick 9 (assurance for the future) Peter Jackson (thank you AFL) Paul Roos (thank you PJ) Stone (credentialed and proven assistant Improving most of the above) That's a turn around on 10 players in the right hands -
Mark Robinson clearly has little understanding

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
Demonsterative replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I could not be more proud of the MFC. We are in one of our worst periods of our history and within the football community we are seen as poison. The club required a person to sell the club and turn it around. In came PJ and the flow ineffective was getting Roos to the club. As good as Roos is, even with him the club is a hard sell. With this in mind, IMO this trade period is a massive success. To some Michie may be seen as a minnow and maybe he is. But, within the footballing community he is seen as a massive talent. Free wanted him so did a few other clubs. He choose the Dees for some obvious reasons. He wanted time playing in a midfield role at a club he knew would give him opportunities. Regardless, he saw us as a club of choice. His manager said he wanted to play under Roos. The club threw out pick 2 to clubs to a top line midfielder at the right age. Shuey and Rockcliff were seen as the type of player we wanted. Realistically these types of player very rarely leave their club. What came out of this strategy was many options and the club picked Tyson because he is a potential top line player and we still get a very good 1st round pick. By all reports Freeman is a player that Roos has his eye on. In 2009 the club stuffed up it first round pick. Cook was a disaster. In 2010 the club traded out its first round pick. That's two years of not getting in top juniors. IMO that's the equivalent of what the Crows and the Bombers are currently experiencing with their sanctions, and what Carlton experienced with their sanctions A big win for our club. Last year we got Toumpas, Viney, Barry and Dawes. this year we get Hogan, Tyson, Michie, and what's looks like Vince. We are loading up on talent just as GWS have, and got in some experience -
Preseason has begun - some pics on MFC site
Demonsterative replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Went down to training, here is my report. Jack Watts looks to have lost weight but was training the house down. He will turn into Ablett this year for sure!!! Jordie was kicking the leather off the football, did not miss a target. He will be next seasons Crawley Nicho was running at the front of each pack. He is the next Scully Pederson was like a donut, he gave nothing and looked just as round More to come -
Tomas Bugg & Matt Buntine
Demonsterative replied to Weekends at Bernie's's topic in Melbourne Demons
According to SEN, the word out of today is the Dees have rejected GWS's offer of Bugg and Buntine and pick 9. This is a good thing IMO. Time for the Dees to counter offer with our choice of player and picks. -
If the MFC got one or two genuine midfielders for pick two, and get them quickly, it will only make the club more attractive to other midfielders wanting a move. I would have thought whoever we trade for pick two would be a selling point (if it get us a gun or two)
-
It seems to me every available player who has expressed an interest in going to another club equates (to many here) that they are turning their back on the MFC. I have yet to hear or read a comment that these same players have said "I do not want to go to the MFC"
-
When did Savage confirm he wanted to come to the us? I must have missed that comment
-
The issue here BH, is not your judgement of Cam Pederson, it's your judgement of your fellow posters. I had high hopes for Pederson too, but I did not go as far as saying he would be the recruit of the year. Everyone has an opinion, as supporters that's all we have. If you wanna pretend you sit on a higher pedestal, then expect to be taken to task. In other words, stop being the ego maniac!
-
What did you say about Cam Pederson last pre season?
-
The article says a lot. It's a message to the players that you sign extensions with the club or be traded. It also tells the football community that only players who are in the Rockcliff or Shuey mould will be on offer for pick 2. It's typical Roos, strong yet respectful.
-
Is a fringe player who may look for opportunities elsewhere. Has finals experience and when fit is a class player. Is exactly the type Roos would want. I haven't heard much about him this year. Has he been injured?

2013 Player Review - # 21 Cam Pedersen
Demonsterative replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lost respect for Cam when watching my only VFL game at Werribee. Spencer went down early. When the team was restructuring, And there was a throw in on the HFF, instead of taking the ruck, Pedersonflaoted around the the wing awaiting an easy disposal. It took the age and wisdom of Hogan to yell at Pedo to take the ruck. Stop being lazy and get in the ruck contest was Jesse's comment. Says a lot for me. Not even Roos can help this guy. Your first season at a new club, you turn up fat, dont lose all the weight. Sherk a contest in the first round and continue to be lazy in the lower leagues. -
Do [censored] ever win? Is Martin currently winning by creating this situation?
-
Did a [censored] write that post RGRS?
-
Didn't I read some MFC club employee was volunteering to keep Ology going but was no longer was willing and it was handed over to the [censored] brothers? I would see this as a club endorsement. Not sure if this is true. Either way time will tell. Some may enjoy the site better than what it has been. It seems to me this personal for many
-
Well it's looks as though Tim has handed over the reigns to ppl who you an others are bothered by. That's if what ppl on this site are saying is true. Also, using your connections from this site to work out what is going on over at Ology is meddling, and it seems you dis-regarded an approach fom a MFC supporter who wanted to get involved at Ology as you labelled them as irresponsible. I equate that to imposing yourself.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Demonsterative replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fact. Essendon players were administered supplements via injections Fact. There were over a thousand injections to its list Fact. Reporting procedures were poor Fact. Even the Essendon Football Club do not know what was administered Fact. The AFL have sanctioned Essendon severly for it's practise Jnr is on the money. Essendon players were administered drugs. We're the substances illegal? Well New Mexico is known for it propensity to provide drugs that are very suspicious and not available over the counter at a chemist. Alleged or not. It doesn't take a chemist to join the dots! -
It's bad enough having little diversity in the Australian meda. The MFC is even worse with its social media. Change and a different point of view can be a good thing. At this stage I'm only being philosophical about this, but for too long Land has had too much say in O'logy. It may be nice being Murdoch, but it doesn't always work for the ant colonies.
-
I agree with you Rog. I get the feeling Neeld took his honesty levels up100 notches and took his brief too far at the MFC. He was given advise and went too far with it. But the Pie players loved him. Which says a bit about the MFC

Any budding superstars lurking on Demonland?

- midfield skills

Or the candidate for senior assistant is in the running for t he Lions or West Coast main gig. Leigh Tudor is my pick if he is available.
-
Collingwood players would disagree with you. They loved his honesty. The difference at the MFC is ppl like Jackie boy gets his feelings hurt and announces to the football world he wants to leave the club
-
I'd take Jolly as a part time ruck coach. Roos loves ruckman and I imagine Roos will be employing a ruck coach.
-
I thought Brown did an ok job, considering the lack of forward inside 50 entries, the conversion rate for scores was ok, having said this the cub is seeking more experienced assistants
