  1. That's your take on it and I see where you're coming from, but I'd prefer to hear something from the club and don't think that a 5 minute interview dramatically impacts on their ability to get the job done. Besides, doing interviews means the media stories are filled with the club's positive 'spin' rather than every commentator, past player and his dog ragging on us. The media's going to get a story from somewhere and I'd rather it come from us.
  2. He is responsible for ensuring the club has the facilities to develop players, he sets the brand and the direction of the football club. His direction impacts the culture of the football club. The entire club is under fire from top to bottom and there was a responsibility to either come out and defend it or explain how it's gone so horribly wrong.
  3. Hilarious.
  4. Throwing Pedersen in defence creates the opportunity for a straight swap with Gillies, that's if Dunn's still injured or Watts is sent back to Casey for a while. Davis must be all kinds of horrible if he can't crack into the team right now.
  5. Happy to appear simple-minded, but I'd be pretty shat if they didn't come out with this onslaught of interviews right now. Especially Schwab, it was about time.
  6. Big thank you to titan_uranus for the summaries.
  7. Think it's unfair to keep Toumpas in the team any longer. His confidence will be absolutely shot with any more games like last night's and we'd only be hurting his future development. edit: grammar
  8. It was really poorly done and I don't know why they bothered. Beretta came on live from the MCG and then Mark Neeld walked in from out of shot after an intro. It lasted all of 3 minutes. Beretta asked him three things, (all paraphrased horribly here): How do you recover after playing so rubbish last weekend?"We do the boring stuff you guys don't want to hear about. We give a review, show the players what happened and what we'd like done better" ...which I took as: "Nicho, see what you did here where you've punched the ball with two fists, mark it next time, that'd be better. Also, you're playing with no confidence, don't play with no confidence anymore." "Roger that, Coach." How was Jack Viney's game? You must be happy with that?"Yeh, Jack was great but he's only 18, so lower your expectations." Can I remember what this question was?"No, I cannot." Was pretty disappointed with it and I've been a big Neeld fan, at least until my confidence was rocked pretty heavy last weekend. Still happy with him, but less blindly optimistic right now.Turned the tv off before the Nathan Jones interview. Cheers for the link.
  9. Don't think this has to come from the coach, he's only been there a year and the ship was already in a sorry state before he took the helm, something should be coming from the board or administration. Would genuinely like to know what's gone so horribly wrong.
  10. Hard-hitting interview from Mark Beretta. Inspiring stuff.
  11. Think he was found out, mate.
  12. Thanks for sharing. Great article.
  13. Agree entirely.
  14. Think he would be the perfect person to bring in right now. Too drunk to give any more than that. Will post more on this later.
  15. Remnds me of the science teachers we kept getting rid of in grade 9. It was a challenge to see how quickly we could get them to take off on stress leave. 1-2 months was the norm. If Neeld sticks fat than we might be alright, and it's about all we can hope for at this point.
  16. That's more positive than I was expecting from you tonatopia, and I appreciate it. I don't know where our improvement will come from anymore. The entire supporter base has gotten so emotional that every single coach, player and administrator's head couldn't stem the pitchforks and cries of mutiny. And really, I'm the same at this point, and I think it will have to come down to the players. If you guys don't start putting in, we're signing out as a club. Backs to the wall, fighting for existence and all that. Like, I was drunk already, but thinking about the dees is just depressing.
  17. Our club seems to be doing well enough off field but all this crap about oldest club in the land, the bugler, the blazers, all that crap, screams of a club that doesn't know how to take a step forward. Have we become too politically correct to say "get out on the field and play like demons"?
  18. Digging the new stuff by the strokes. Sorry for the lack of video on this one.
  19. Signed.
  20. Watching Farren Ray get plenty of the ball and butcher every one of his disposals in the GC vs StK match. Not heaps disappointed we missed out on him in the trade period. Am disappointed we missed out on Aaron Hall in the rookie draft though.
  21. Probably won't bother looking for that.
  22. He says "Cale, you kick it up the fkn line", but I liked 45HG's comment better.
  23. No issues with the article. Generally agree with him.
