Beelzebub, if there's a way to pick a loser we will find it. Having said that, I agree with your sentiment. The only player in that top bracket I don't warm to is Salem. In terms of preference, I'm leaning towards Lennon.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

Manny, I couldn't find the 2014 Power rankings. Do you have a link? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

I've often thought sunshine overrated Biffen. His sister is of similar skin type to Steven and yet Billy could have been sired by David Rodan. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

Billy Stretch will be a welcome acquisition next year but, from my understanding (chatting to Steven Stretch's sister 10 months ago) there is still significant work for him to be up to speed. Certainly, I'm a little surprised that he will be part of the AIS but this is pleasing, I would have thought. If we don't hype the hell out of the kid he really should be a second or third rounder IMO. -
This is the list... there is no one else.

On reflection, it's not a busy day job at all. It just sounded go getterish. -

Lordweaver, in answer to your question let me say that starting a small business whilst you maintain a busy day job is a challenge that I'm not completely convinced about yet. -

Moderate The Hood at best, Springy YCW, Parkmore, Melbourne High, Noble Park and a couple of games for a country team as I went through second year Ballarat Uni. -

BBO has insisted I seek redemption in the wisdom of Lord Weaver. I'll go forth. -

Sabbatical TH. There were only so many ways that I could discuss pick 9. When is the draft by the way? -

So what you're saying is that this is the list? Wow. -
And you know this from where?

I have mentioned previously that if he stays on the park Michael Evans will be the significant improver of 2014 IMO. I would be shocked if Jimmy Toumpas didn't make substantial strides. I'm curious as to the thoughts of others. Disclaimer - I thought Lucas Cook was going to be a player.

So, where to from here with pick 2?

You make a good point HH. If we are backing the coach, then we are surely backing him to be able to develop young players significantly better than we have done before. -

Is it possible that we could pick up Aish and still trade our other picks for a decent mature pick? I actually think that's what will end up happening. The SANFL GF may give us a real indication of Aish's potential. I hope he burns it up and makes the decision a no brainer. Bottom line - I'd love us to recruit our very own champ and my blind optimism still thinks we can. -

Fluked is the word. I know we have mismanaged players but surely we are due some luck in that regards. To be able to fluke our version of a Nat Fyfe at pick 17 or whatever it is. -
Colin Sylvia going ... going ... GONE!
Return to Glory replied to burfy174's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well there's a comment as misinformed as your belief that somehow your opinions matter and as inaccurate as your assertion that you rarely go on this site. I really preferred when you wrote the Truth Heart balm articles. You know, where you started each column with, "I didn't think it could happen to me, I'm just your average guy" with real emphasis on the average bit. -
Awfully decent of you BH. Just when I don't think you can give any more to others, you go that extra step.

Colin Sylvia going ... going ... GONE!

Col was a very good footballer in an average to shite team. He wasn't always a star and his laconic style was misinterpreted by some as lack of effort. I certainly don't think this was the case. Good luck to him. -
Couple of posters intimated that he's still not fair dinkum in his approach. Not entirely sure what to make of it.
-
The other scenarios is that Aish plays a blinder in the Sanfl GF and we just hope GWS don't pick him up. I still feel there may be something very special about this kid.

Great minds

Choke, where does Bernie Vince sit age wise? There's always been a question of application but I wouldn't be overly surprised if he was in our sights, particularly if it was a two player deal.

I often approach the keyboard in full army regalia and a smear of black paint across both cheeks. It's warfare man.

Well of course we have miserable lives. Do you think I'd be posting if I was lying on a beach in Tahiti next to Miranda Kerr? I probably would post but you get my point.
