Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Return to Glory replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well, haven't Asada taught them a lesson they wont forget. If they had have known what the outcome would be, I'm sure the Bombers would have brought on the horse steroids and hired Lance Armstrong's chemist. Same result really. -
Well said Carrot Top. The Hawks play hard and he would relish that environment. I can't think of the last time we made a mediocre footballer into a good one.
-
I blame Emma Quayle for all of this.
-
Dwayne Russell must have compromising pictures in his possession. A lethal combination of bias, bitterness, inaccuracy, lack of genuine colour and all pervasive smugness. As BBO so aptly summarized, the ultimate suckhole.
-
Would love to be wrong but I cannot see us getting within 50 points.
-
Two wins or less? I'm trying to work out where we could win a game. Maybe Saints at the G.

Roos sounding like Neeld (The Age)?
Return to Glory replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Chip may not have physically left the club but I cannot believe he is invested in its success. Gonsky. -
The AFL should have given us that extra pick but they are hell bent on making GWS a success. And I just find Gillan McLaughlin, or whatever his name is, a bit of a snake oil salesman so heaven help us if he takes the helm. His performance with the Essendon saga was an exercise in compromise and I don't see him standing up for our needs.
-
I like that Sassy. Chips ahoy mateys.
-
Trouble is, the more he plays this year, the lower the compensation. It just passes me off that he has seemingly cracked the sads because he's not playing in a winning side.
-
Love it Steve. I'm glad I'm not the only one. He plays with an 'I'm alright Jack attitude'. It will be on display this weekend.
-
Absolutely nailed it Steve. Plays like a defeatist. He's one of those blokes who looks permanently exasperated by what's going on around him but doesn't take charge. And I'll add that he would be in my top three players who I get extremely nervous about when they have the ball in hand. I'm actually coming around to the idea that Chip leaving may actually allow us to start assembling a back line with a bit of nous and verve. Lets get some value from him through a trade as I don't see him getting any better. Garland was significantly better than him last year and, whilst I concede they have different roles, Dunn is way better than him this year. Too often he plays dumb football.

Roos, as great as he has been, has to prove that he can markedly improve this team. I believe he can but, in terms of results, he has not so far. -
Is it too early to look at next years draft? Surely we are a lock for 1 & 2. Look, in some ways you've got to laugh.... Don't you?
-
The thing that concerns me is that, within 5 minutes it stopped being entertainment and quickly became lions v Christians.
-
I take it you're a little disappointed.

It may be worth Dayle considering taking a year off footy and seeking professional guidance, not necessarily for a football return but for him to work on those aspects that are holding him back as an individual.

For fack sake, cut Jack Watts some slack. He played well last week. What did you want him to do? He may play well or he may play poorly this week. If he plays poorly then do your thing and get stuck into him. But until then try being reasonable. -
Some young men are slow to mature, not so much in terms of body strength but more so in terms of making smart decisions and being able to cope with the rigors of the world in general. As an outsider looking in (as none of us really know) it would seem that Dayle Garlett falls into this category. Combine that with a background which may or may not have been as solid and supportive as that of other youngsters as well as huge expectations based purely on his ability and, in the final analysis, you have to feel for this lost boy.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 2
Return to Glory replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This game will be significantly closer than what people anticipate. We shot ourselves in the foot through bad kicking against St Kilda and we are a much better side at the G(perhaps more so with an improved midfield). Not brave enough to predict a win but will be surprised if the margin is over 30 points. Ps- for what it's worth, this is a game I would have loved Michael Evans in. Knows how to find space and I would have thought that he could cause headaches if allowed to float around half forward. -

Staying with a promise to undermine at every opportunity. Great outcome for Bomber haters. -
Doing very well at Carey.
