GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Return to Glory replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Spot on. Yesterday was, I hope, a positive step for both Mitch and club. It would be terrific, in time, if Mitch could return to football at any level in some capacity without a sense of dread. -
My guess is one of the expansion clubs will miraculously have the money.

Carlton was murdered on the spread. For this reason only I'd look at playing Blease.
-
No BBo, it's a poor attempt to add a literary component - he was the main character in 'The Big Men Fly' who could kick wheat bags across the Murray and Geoff Hayward was the prize recruit in 'The Club'.

Great post. I have said this previously but I actually lie to my daughter who is now 6. That may be worth considering but given Annie is starting to question some of my pronouncements, I suspect at 12 your daughter may present more of a challenge. Perhaps you could declare this year a time where the family goes back to basics I.e no internet, phone and newspapers and a little home schooling. On second thoughts, you may want to make it three years.

Old Dee, Salem?

Then she needs to do more or you need to end it now.

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 3
Return to Glory replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
You need to fix the system Demonland. Nathan Jones was not within a bulls roar of being second best,on the ground and certainly wasn't as good as Pedersen. People need to feel confident that the decision isn't purely on reputation but on what occurred on a given day. Otherwise you may as well just give it to Nat Jones now. -

I'm having a gentle jibe at you Hoges. The key word for you is perspective. We are pretty poor but this will eventually change. Unfortunately, you have indicated that the football club is dead so you will miss the good times. Anyway, what's it matter? Good times, shite times...you follow the football club and that's all there is to it. -

Oh for facks sake. Anybody would think you're in permanent traction. We are simply following a side that's not very good. I still enjoy following them. No problems. -

Or perhaps just follow Celtic for 5 years and get your fix then come back to the fold. -

You mean besides being the oldest club with 12 Premierships and perhaps the greatest era of them all? Listen Hoges, follow your logic and the Hawks, Saints, Roos, Swans and Brisbane would no longer be in existence. Yes we have had a horror run but it does not compare to that of some other clubs. As I heard Finey on SEN say, imagine following St kilda in the 80's. And one more thing, and this may be hard to get your head around - sport has its winners and losers...If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two impostors just the same; you'll be a man Hoges. -

HH, go to the kitchen, pour yourself a scotch then throw it into your face. Then slap yourself twice and hard. Get real. -
BBO, whilst I sometimes get caught in the emotion, I don't subscribe to the Henny Penny, the sky is falling art of football following. And btw, there's an Alpaca Farm in Rye. passed I today.
-
Relax. We've shown a little today. For starters, we don't have a forward line.
-
Geez, the Giants get a flocking good run in the 50 50s, don't they.
-
The bloke I think we need to keep an eye on is the Tasmanian Geoff Hayward. The other is McArthy, a Vic country boy. Apparently he's great. The other one ive heard a whisper about is Achilles Jones.
-
Stunning. Grandmaster at work.

DEVIL OF A TIME - Match Preview and Team Selection
Return to Glory replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems like a hell of a bloke but I'm not sure Trenners would make any other team at present. Appears slow and undersized and with little upside. Before I'm torn to shreds, I hate thinking this and would like to be wrong.
