  1. I'd also throw in Maric as hopefully being able to achieve 20-30 goals a year, depending on his given role. Hopefully he can get his fitness up.

agree with your call, i can see maric becoming a porplyzia type of player. with improved fitness and delivery from our mids he could even get up to the 50 mark. hope he has a big pre season and can cement his spot in the team next year.

  2. how much leadership do we want? isn't scully, grimes and mc lean enough? and you could probably add a few others to the list. i reckon we need to take a risk, playing it safe isnt always the right option, just look at the tiges, deledio and tambling. Morabito is a rare kind of player, he is tall, can play midfield and forward, has pace, and also has the X FACTOR. And dont forget our recruiting staff have compared him to pavlich, who wouldn't want a pavlich in their team?

Morabito article, for any of you guys that are sussed out about the "go home factor", he is here to stay if we pick him.

"I have had a few meetings, and to play in the AFL would be a great honour so I would be happy to go anywhere - but to play in your home state would be a good deal as well,". He seems like a pretty level headed guy and it would be awesome if we picked him up, he looks like an absolute gun.

  4. the swannies have delisted 6 players so far, and its highly unlikely that they will pick up that many in this years draft. They also have a habit of getting the best out of "second-rate flankers". Paul Roos has constantly stated that his team cant afford to bottom out, and players like bartram or bell could be a solution to their list problems.

  5. I reckon we should take the risk and pick up Morabito, this guy looks like a gun and could be what the team needs in order to go to the next level. If we were to go with the safe option, like martin, trengove and cunnington, i could see these guys in the mclean mould. A team of mclean's wont win us a flag.

  6. just chucking this one out as a possibility, dunno if the swannies would take it, but the swannies seem to have a habit of taking the trade option, like with richards, shaw etc.

Pick 34 , Bell and Bartram for Pick 22 and their 4th rounder

  7. Pick 2 is going to be one hell of a decision. i have trengove, martin and morabito in mind, and atm morabito is who i would currently take. The thing i like about morabito over the other 2 is his versatility, he can play forward and in the midfield and as well has the X factor. The only thing that worries me about him is his kicking, i reckon he kicks too many up and unders.

Can't wait to find out the results from draft camp, i reckon it will ultimately determine who we pick up.

  8. Yeah, that would really work. We'd get nothing at the end of next year, just like we expect the Bulldogs to get nothing now. You don't sign up near-AA full backs for a year. Two or three years would be the minimum needed.

I wouldn't be averse to taking Lake, but only in the PSD. It would give us an opportunity to consolidate the defence and try players like Garland (or Warnock?) forward.

However, the chances are realistically about 5-10%. When the finals are over he'll probably re-sign with the Bulldogs for another two years, and all this hopeful scuttlebutt will go the way of most other web forum trade talk.

If he is available, then why not sign him for the 2 years. After 1 year at the club, surely there will still be some clubs looking for an AA KPD. And if so, trade him off for as much as we can get.

  9. Why? cause it's his fault that the ball doesn't get into the forward line. + Working with jets like Miller and Newton.

What about Paul Williams? People said he sux last year but is he now a gun cause the Bulldogs midfield is firing?

Doesn't Williams work with the doggies forwards...?

  10. Even though we are already developing a gun defence, i could see this working out. I say pick him up in the PSD for 1 year, and then trade him off next year for the highest bidder. We solve our salary cap issue for next year, and could potentially pick up another young gun.

  11. I reckon if we picked up Trengove with our 2nd pick we will not see him leave us. From the way jack comes across, you can tell he has a different personality to scotty. I think he will remain faithful to whichever club picks him up ( hopefully us).

For me, i would compare this kinda scenario to Brad ebert of west coast, a massive buzz occured when he didnt go to an adelaide club, but now he has adjusted to being an eagle and resigned til 2012. I reckon both of these players are alike and will remain with their repsective clubs for their whole careers.

  12. i would give and reckon Tom Scully will get the number 31. The club wants to recreate what we achieved in the 50's, and by doing so, i reckon past numbers will be apart of this new creation. Just look what happen with Jack Watts receiving Norm Smith's number 4. Although scully and barassi may have started differently, something they both share is the willingness to WORK HARD to get the most out of themselves and the team to achieve the ultimate.

  13. What I was wondering though, is whether or not it would be possible to pursuade one of the three or four top choices (e.g. Butcher) to only nominate for the PSD thereby enabling us to snare Scully, Trengove and Butcher? Probably a rule disallowing this - can someone inform?

Don't think this would be possible, the afl want equity in the competition, and if we some how enticed (e.g.butcher) to enter the PSD, the afl would probably see that as draft tampering, which could possibly result in the loss of our no.2 pick or some other form of punishment.
