T Macs field kicking is horrendous and why he was moved away from down back in the 1st place.

Please don’t remind me of those dark, dark days. Oh, the turnovers!

I have produced a 99 page Brownlow Medal guide based on my model's predictions and 20,000 simulations of the model. You can download it from the following page:

    https://www.wheeloratings.com/afl_brownlow.html

My model has Petracca 4th favourite to poll most votes at 17.0% (17.8% to win, ignoring ineligible players) and second favourite to poll in the most games.

I have Daicos favourite to poll most votes at 33.6% (35.6% to win) but unlikely to poll after round 18.

    Here are my top 4:

Daicos 33.6% to poll most votes (35.6% to win)
    Bontempelli 26.0% (27.5%)
    Butters 21.6% (22.8%)
    Petracca 17.0% (17.8%)

I plan on posting updated probabilities during the count under the following account on X/Twitter:

    YES

Desperately want a Lions v GWS grand final and wipe that smerk of disbelief off  Voss's face.

No  way Maynard goes after Mr Toby or any other player. They'd rip that dogs head off.

Melbourne are still  considered soft in some aspects otherwise Maynard wouldnt have slaughtered Brayshaw. Why didnt Melbourne make his game hell?

MFC have to shutdown all this social work nonesense. Ben Brown spent most of the season hanging with children. Hes the highest paid social worker in Australia on 650k ?

Shutdown Alice Springs and all that feel good nonesense that goes with it.

We look soft. Its  just a fact so get over it. If we dont toughen up we'll go out in straight sets again.

I reckon you made your point with the first comment.

It’s just a comment on a supporter forum.  Honestly, this whole “never question the club” attitude that some people here embrace is so sycophantic, bordering on idolisation. Goodwin and his selectors mystified a lot of people who support them financially. An explanation as to why it was an non-activated Schache on our bench, and not an All Australian ruckman, is not unwarranted.

I definitely don’t have that attitude. It’s just the ‘I demand an answer because it’s MY club’ type of comment really bugs me. You’re not going to get anything more than you’ve got at the press conference. That’s what they are for. But you’re right, I’m not flogging this dead horse further!

    Not on this aspect, no

Decision making process and governance for the recruitment

same for both finals re selection

could have neutralised Cox and freed max up

why not v Carlton - absolutely bizarre

Sorry, to be clear, you’re asking for the club to make a public statement on these things to satisfy your urge for what? Relieving frustration?

No  definite evidence in that footage  that was  enough to overturn the soft call .

Carlton are so lucky so often with adjudications that it really makes you wonder how.

It wasn’t a soft call. It was a goal and nobody asked them to look at it.

I’m not usually into this kind of thing but it’s a borderline conspiracy.

His first couple of game were very iffy then he hit a bit of form and was dropped straight away.

He is the sole reason Lever and May took about 6000 intercept marks tonight. Lever is a debacle when he has to man up on a KPF

Sure, tell me a team that won a premiership with Kossie Pickett, an underdone Fritsch and 5 VFL  players in the forward line

The intensely frustrating thing is we should have won both those games with exactly that

Our ruck and only key forward (and best goal kicker) were likely to fall apart at any given moment.

Hard to blame them for keeping tall insurance

Hmm yes, wonder where we might find a spare All Australian ruck lying around the place?

We need to worry about winning a single final...not about winning it all. On the evidence you've seen, what makes you think there's any chance whatsoever that we could win 3 finals in front of big crowds at the MCG? There's literally no chance with this group, who have proven to be massive chokers.

We're going to need to reload and hope that the next generation that come through have some bottle.

This. Genuinely think our window is done for now and it’s the Rivers, Bowey, McVee, Petty, JVR era that will be our next successful one

Max and May only have one more peak year and we are getting rid of our replacement AA ruckman and need to clear out 8-10 of the mid range or we will be going backwards fast.

Does that mean the header from soccer goes, the rebound from basketball, any action in any sport that has the potential to cause a head knock banned or as a participant you accept by playing that sport there is a chance of injury

Mate I’ve played basketball for 30 years at junior level, quite good senior level and old man ‘park footy’ equivalent and not seen a single person hit in the head on a rebound, let alone be concussed. This is a very silly comparison

As much as a I despise everything about this incident and the aftermath, I can't help but think why the hell didn't Gus just step Maynard once he had jumped in the air, or draw and give to Trac (Maynard's direct opponent)? Alternatively, why didn't Tracc shephard Maynard away from Gus? Watch the vision, Tracc just leaves Maynard and sprints inside 50 once he sees Gus break clear of centre leaving the sniper Maynard to have a free hit at Gus.

Lot of what ifs and maybes. I feel so sick about the whole thing and worry that its going to happen again to some poor guy/girl.

    Surely you jest

Given the tribunal's 'reasoning' it will be interesting how they can even make a rule to do what they want short of 'regardless how it happened, knock someone out and you are in trouble'.  Either that or they will effectively be saying last night's decision was wrong but next time we'll actually mount a case instead of waving a wet lettuce.

That’s exactly what they should be saying.

You knock someone out, you go.

It’s 2023, we can’t have people just being smashed and the old boy network going into ‘what else could he do’ overdrive. It just has to stop.
