My point 'belzebub59' was that a midfield can be improved by good key position players , not will be improved . As an example , Moloney wins a clearance out of the middle , under pressure he might kick the ball forward towards CHF . Cloke , playing in front , takes the mark , thus making Moloney's kick more effective . At the moment , our current CHF's are nowhere near as good as Cloke , so in the same instance , Moloney might decide to handpass backwards or try to break a tackle . Carey improved North's midfield - mainly in their decision making . Neitz often did the same for us . Many times the Pies midfield will get a quick kick forward towards Cloke from the square - especially when they play against the better sides . It's a good percentage play .

I know in soccer they've made the player walkway/race 'spray proof' . Though in soccer it was a bit more than various 'Liquids' ! Wow ! Did Miami get serious today or what ? James was magnificent from what I've heard - some are describing it as his best game . I've heard the wrap-up but will catch the highlights later . A good/great key forward or in fact 2 of them can improve a midfield . Suddenly a midfield group have 2 terrific targets . The midfield can be more decisive in their actions , for various reasons . The good forward knows where to lead , can play in front all the time etc etc and in general provides a better target . Good key forwards have the effect of straightening a team up . It's hard to measure but it's a reality . And it can extend , and often does , to the half back line . As an example , Collingwoods half back line of Davis , O'Brien and Shaw grabbing the ball , running through the lines and launching it towards their twin towers (either down the middle or when they went wide) Good key forwards add confidence to a team . Cloke would be of enormous benefit to our team .

The '48 win might be a 'stolen' one as well . The Bombers kicked 7.27 to our 10.9 in the 1st 'drawn' Grand Final' . Of course , we won the replay quite comfortably in the end by 39pts . The Thunder win game 6 and the series 4-2 ! The Spurs were brave and had their chances . Congrats to OKC for making the final . A team that has been threatening for a while and now they get their shot at glory . Durant , Westbrook , Harden and Fisher have all played well in this series . The Spurs lead by 15 at the half but couldn't hold on . Tomorrow we're in Boston for game 6 . ESPN 10.30am . The Celtic's win and they're through . OKC can rest up and will be secretly hoping for a game 7 ! It's been a cramped season and an extra couple of days rest is a distinct advantage .

The important bit to remember is that if Mark decided to have a change in direction , then kudos to him . I see it as a sign of strength , not a sign of weakness like some might think . As I said in an earlier post , it becomes an irrelevency if we don't play footy like we did in the 1st 8 rounds - an abberation is ok though . We can't hope to play with the intensity we showed on Saturday night , every week . Not yet anyway .

He played limited minutes today but might be better on Friday ( our time ) . James' 30 and Wade's 27 just wasn't enough with Boston's big 4 all doing well again - Garnett 26 , Pierce 19 , Allen 13 and Rondo 7 (with 13 assists) . Bass and Pietrus stepped it up as well . Just a good team effort again . Boston weren't expected to make the final but one more win and they're in . Spurs are at OKC tomorrow . I'm going with my earlier tip - San Antonio to force a game 7 . Thought that we've been into Travis Cloke ever since the "Get your hands off our players" quote from EE some months back . I think we might be able to 'Front end' his contract (like we did with Clark?) so as to not effect our ability to pay our players more equitably post 2013 . GWS did it with T$ . If you take into account that 24 of our players are out of contract then there could be a decent amount of room in our cap next year . A big wad of cash in his 1st year is a huge inducement . Any player would love a big front ended contract . A bird in the hand ............. And he immediately adds wins to our team . If Cook and McDonald come on in leaps and bounds then we end up with a nice problem . You've got to take your chances when they come your way . Obviously there is the Neeld connection as well and right now we have a vacancy at CHF . I've made up my mind - go get him !
