  1. I'd like to see a solid bit of training 3 to 4 games in the VFL and come in when he is ready so would not think before late July for mine
  2. This is somewhat of a myth that Port turned their midfield around quickly, I would argue it has been a work in progress for some years in 2007 that made the GF on the back of some older boys left over from the 2004 flag and since then they have drafted very well and the likes of Kane Cornes have grown from young understudies to seasoned veterans 2006 - they had drafted Grey & Boak (pretty sure Boak played in 07 GF), 2007 Lobbe was drafted and took some time to mature into the version we have had since late 2012 to current 2008 Hartlett was drafted 2009 Andrew Moore no world beater but decent depth 2010 - Nothing 2011 - Chad Wingard & Ebert was traded in at the end of the season Meth Coast 2012 - Ollie Wines So I would think this is a steady building of the list and is they continue with this formula with constant turnover they will continue to have a decent midfield
  3. So why do we conform and wear white, red and blue that is us I am very big on these always being our colours, Home games (barring indigenous/heritage round) our traditional strip is a must but IAH for the life of me I am struggling to see any opposition where as an away game if our traditional strip clashes that a predominantly red strip would clash
  4. Lets get some matters cleared up on this, Trevor Nesbit is cast from the same mould as the fat controller and somewhat like Schwaby in the all important brand and how the club appeals to the supporters/coterie. I would suggest Nesbitts task in a two horse town was somewhat easier than Schwabs but at the time of Meth Coast falling into media storm with Kerr's Ketamine and prescription matter, Gardy leaving the scene of an accident and Cousins being stripped of the captaincy for other matters they needed a good news story. Fast forward to 2008/09 when their club was in free fall after Cousins ban and they had thousands in uproar at them for deserting their favourite son in Cousins, lets give our new media circus recruit Nic Nat the number 9 it will all be good and they will forget Ben in time, it worked. Juddy was a reluctant captain and those in the know in Perth are aware it was used by the board as some kind of leverage to try and have Judd commit to the club for another contract and to this day is still used by Meth Coast fans as a swipe at Judd as having no morals for being a captain who they believe deserted a sinking ship. And as for the comment in the club that gave him a flag, FMD I would argue that he was the most vital cog in that club getting the final piece to their jigsaw in being able to make a flag achievable. Juddy played the entire last 2/3rd's of 2007 debilitated with a groin injury knowing he was leaving at years end and he gave everything right to the final loss in extra time to the Pies, I would say he gave everything to that club and whilst he ended up choosing Carlton for the money he was always going back to Melbourne
  5. Argue all you like he is a Meth Coast untouchable and wont be put up for trade, if you ask them about releasing Frenchy what they would want to let him go is not worth it
  6. No, unique player but seen his best days and will not leave WA
  7. That may have been true pre Malthouse but certainly not the case now and part of the reason why Sumich was not given the job, they wanted a fresh change. Judge a West Aussie boy was highly disliked by the player group and player power won out and Nesbitt did not listen to Judgey warning of off field problems with experimentation so to speak with their young playing group. Judge was treated very badly in the end by Meth Coast, speak to him about it now and he has a lot of animosity towards the club. You are right to say they are only interested in success as was well and truly proven by putting a flag ahead of player welfare.
  8. They only exist because of us that is enough
  9. Comes from a Toffee Lady who used to walk around the ground before kick off throwing toffees into the crowd. I have been an Evertonian since 1976 and was there when we won our last FA Cup, magical day
  10. Wasn't sure so hopefully Salem will be in with a shot
  11. I really want to beat them and if we continue to play hard nose footy like we have and maintain improvement across the list we should beat sides like that most of the time
  12. Hawks were very poor today but Angus Litherland if eligible had a good game
  13. I said at the start of the season they are flat track bullies and many (Wyl you were one) sneered at me they have no midfield depth and don't like the hard stuff, champions of the game like Glass & Cox are done and I love it hate them more than any sporting club in the world
  14. I like the current emblem, has our colours, our traditional MFC logo and the Southern Cross of our flag, the rules of the game Cartoon logos are very unprofessional IMO
  15. It's an incorrect rumour, still living in Perth, a current business interest requires more travel to the eastern states but still living here
  16. On the games so far this round Salem so far will be contesting with Docherty and Paparone for Rising Star nominee
  17. Attended the game today and from start to finish Vic Metro were clear and away the better side, really good inside with clean hands and always had a loose man outside who once with ball in hand broke away easily and the delivery inside 50 was very good. Vic Metro could have won by 100+ had they kicked straighter. I went today keen to see Angus Brayshaw through the middle and whilst he was good and really looks to have a good tank and work ethic but there were others who stood out namely Christian Patrecca found plenty of the ball and his tackling was ferocious and he looks a good size and would step into AFL without any issues in size, Touk Miller looked good and was constantly putting pressure on WA defenders who had no answer to his tackling and his ball use was good and he was very good in congestion. Cavka I know nothing about but along with Petracca was one of the standouts, he caught my eye with his workrate and his willingness to run hard after feeding off the ball to provide an option. Number 6 for Vic Metro Ahern was very good with his run through the middle and showed a strong ability to break the lines. WRIGHT is some size and a very good kick for a young guy that big, whilst he didn't star he showed enough to suggest he will go high in the draft. A few glimpses of being good below his knees which will rate highly as a KPT and his positional sense and awareness of when to go to a contest and when to hang out the back is something someone so young usually needs to be taught. WA were really bad mostly across the field and bombed the ball into their forward 50 on numerous occasions despite Vic Metro's 2 big defenders Langford and Vickers-Ellis dominating their defensive 50, these two boys were very impressive. Mark young Waterman down as a monty to go to Meth Coast, his decision making is excellent and he uses the ball extremely well and he just knows how to read the play and finds space easily. The knock on Waterman is his pace lets be honest he has none otherwise he would be top 5 but still going to be a very good player and I don't see why they wouldn't take him. Clem Smith was undisciplined and gave away two silly 50m but was hard at every contest and laid some good solid body hits, one of which left one of Vic Metro's boys a little shaken up for a few minutes. Smith's ball use is good and he will stand out at the next level with players who know where to run and lead. Jared Hardisty from Claremont was very busy throughout and showed some very clean hands and accumulated plenty of the footy. Not sure at around 5ft 9 that he will go in the first 3 rounds but worth a late pick or rookie as his workrate and ability to find the ball were impressive. Jarred Pickett showed about 2 minutes of highlights and bursts of pace but my god he doesn't work hard and does not put in the effort to get pressure/body or a tackle on an opponent or get to a contest that is not to far away from him. I would imagine he will talked of highly by many because you would be able to put together a nice highlight reel for him but for me really needs to work harder. So for me if I was picking on today Petracca - big bodied mid excellent disposal hard at the ball and makes tackles count Wright - the glimpses were enough and I can see the ability to just impose himself Braywhaw - very good 1st quarter went out for a bit in the middle but finished strongly and has a fantastic tank Cavka - worked hard didn't just admire some good work went again to get another kick or provide an option Waterman - just a quality footballer and if he had pace would be an absolute star Ahern - line breaking pace and shows a lot of ability to cause problems breaking from clearances Smith - is developing into a Byron Pickett clone and loves to hit hard Langford - controlled the defensive 50 and plenty of sides need tall defenders Miller - really good decision maker and applies some good pressure inside 50 Hardisty - accumulated plenty of the footy showed the required workrate their will be doubters on his size
  18. Just finished watching it was at the U/18'S & WAFL all day so missed the live telecast, so knew the result but my god we are a totally different team and footy is enjoyable again 6. Tyson faded late but most of our boys did 5. Jetta have always liked the kid and did another quality job today 4. Cross like Jetta did a fantastic job for us and got the better of Polac 3. N Jones just maintains the same standards week in week out 2. Pedersen surely the most improved player on our list attacking marking contests and just full of confidence looks to be enjoying his footy 1. Dunn great job on Schulz, bad mistake late but gets the vote for his game over 4 quarters
  19. will get 2 weeks down to 1 with an early plea. Can't see it being any less
  20. Best I have seen him play since the 2012 prelim where he almost got the Crows over the line
  21. You come up with a lot of must targets and future guns you do know about list sizes and overlapping contracts, we can only take so many players and not to many of the same type
  22. No because he had decided to leave the year before if you remember how emotional they all were in Stuey Loewes last game against us when he handed the number 23 to Kosi. It was Rodney Eades Sydney at the time and he wanted Hall
  23. Really so Ablett looks around and says I am going to elbow this fella in the head I must be wrong then or my television set clearly doesn't show his intent. I would argue if it was me I was trying to get up and being held back down so I swung my arm back to initiate contact to his chest to break free.
  24. One from left field popped to mind on Saturday night wathcing Port vs Hawks as his body looks to have finally caught up with him. 2/3 years as apprentice - Luke Hodge absolute leader and has coached on field for many years
