I cant belive how there is no info about the game! Did anyone who is a member here actually go to the game? Really need a good detailed report! How was Zomer??? how did Jetta go? Ive found some info on Bigfooty from a Brisbane supporter who gives a bit of info for us. Posted by Sniff12 As an impartial observer who was actually at the game here is a little bit of info for any dee's fan that obviously didn't get much coverage of hte cairns game down south. 1. The weather wasn't that bad probably 3 quarters of the match was played with no rain and the surface was fantastic. 2. Melbourne played a style of footy that suited the conditions a lot better for example brisbane's midfielder's (ritschelli, johnson, etc) tended to be way too cute with the ball whereas Melbourne's players (such as Bruce, Jones, Maloney?) tended to get the ball forward as quick as possible and by any means. 3. Was really impressed by the fullback (#1 Buckley) who played a great game on Bradshaw and looks really classy, frawley was also a good player for mine and the Melbourne backline really held its own (Stefan Martin?) played a good game on Clarke. The only dissapointing thing I saw in the backline was players like Garland? (Redhead) flying when he should have stayed down a few times letting players like Hooper come into the game. 4. Spencer could really be anything. was told by the a few Melbourne people that they thought his tapwork was great but his skills lacked a bit. I don't remember him getting too many kicks but am sure that everyone hit the target and he contested very well particulary against Luenberger & No. 15 (big Lad) 5. Rivers played the 1st half and did well he came off and had treatment on his ankle which looked like it was always going to happen. 6. Johnson did leave the ground with a hip problem during the game but came back on during the last quarter which would strongly suggest that there was not too much to worry about. 7. As an overrall summation I would place Melbourne in a much better position then the same stage last year. I left after the game against the tigers last year and told my wife that it was going to be a long year for the dees. If any one has anymore questions feel free to ask And again..... posterd by Sniff12 Buckley might not have played fullback but he definately played on bradshaw, warnock had brown for the 1st half and did a pretty good job Brown got a few kicks and a few soft free kicks and as I said Martin did well on clarke. Newtown was ok but not BOG, bruce had a lot of it, you could probably go with the old "Team Effort" in the paper.

Unfortunatley its not that easy. Visy supply 55% of all packaged goods in Australia, that includes cardboard, plastics and paper. Heres a link to Visy's website which has a picture of just some of the things Visy produce. http://www.visy.com.au/packaging/ For anyone who doesn't know or understand about the whole Richard Pratt/Visy thing, here are a couple of links to articles you should read. http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2006/s1614186.htm http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/09/2054451.htm http://smallbusiness.smh.com.au/growing/fi...-903791168.html As a very brief summary, Visy and the other rival packageing company made an agreement to up the prices of there products. As there is no other big company who does packaging, product produces small and large were forced to pay jacked up prices on all their packaging. This resulted in the produces having to up their prices to the public. Costing you and me, the everyday Australian more money for your milk/coke/just about anything. This made Visy an estimated $700 million.

Why wont we revist then? Because you said so? Clearly we all must bow down to your opinion. Just because you make the same point over and over again doesn't mean that its right Freak. Damn it guys! if only we had listened to Freak before we appointed CAC! Clearly his knowledge of the game is better and we wouldn't be in this mess!

They are no longer on our list. Who from our current list? The truth is that Sylvia gets a game because he is our best option at the moment. There is a reason why we finished last in 08. We dont have players who are challenging for postition yet.
-
Maybe you should listen to the people at the pub mate. IT IS A NAB MATCH. IT'S A PRACTICE MATCH THE SEASON DOESN'T ACTUALLY START FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS.
-
Im still going to stick with Colin untill the 1st round of the season. I dont know why people are getting so upset about a pre-season match.
-
Wishing injuries on our players? Worst post ever. After the last couple of years we have had, I cannot belive you would even joke about this.
-
Yeah i agree with you Rhino, The Nab cup match isnt that exciting. Its warm up matches. Thats it. I admit that if we were in the final I would consider it more than a practice match, but lets be honest. We have a slim chance of making it that far. I just find it interesting that Hannibal is not even bothering to watch the match. Don't get me wrong, Im not questioning his support for the club. Anyone who is here as frequently as you and I clearly have a love for the club.
-
So your not joking. You really couldn't care less about our first official hit out of the year. I cant wait to see the boys play. Im pretty shocked that someone who comes on here and posts as often as you do isn't inching at the thought of seeing the boys play.
-
Are you being serious? or joking? I cant work it out. We have the youngest team in the leauge! Not everyone can fit in! I'm still in london, so it will be tough for me to actually see it, but im really excited to see the boys play again. Grimes is the one I will be watching.

Ha Ha! what a smart guy! I reakon that everyone in Australia could have come to the same conclusion without doing any reserch at all! Doesn't mean that its going to happen though! For a start North Melbourne are in alot better shape than they have been in the past, and while I would say that they are not quite out of the woods yet, they are a hell of a long way past meger talks to survive for the next 5 years. Unfortuantley we are in the worst situation. A lot rides on this sponsership deal. As soon as we get one, a lot of pressure will be taken off, then we can focus on the rebuild. once this year is over then the rebuild will be complete and we will be playing good football, the crowds will come back, sponsership will be banging on our door, we will have a strong team for a good 6 years at least. It's simply a matter of surviving the next 2 years. Its going to be a question of who is going to have to rebuild next? North, W.Bulldogs, Demons? I dont know if any of us would be able to survive yet another rebuild.

I prefered the old red clash jumper rather than this one. Personally I dont like the new demon logo thats printed on the top. The new red one seems to be lacking another element, while the white one has the blue 'V' which seems to look alot less like a training top.
-
Heres the incident. His eyes are on the man, not on the ball. And makes contact to the jaw/neck/head area with the full force of his shoulder. If he had hit him a bit lower it would have been a perfect bump. Has anyone seen the wikipedia file on matty whelan? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Whelan Did anyone on here do this?
-
Does anyone else think that GC17 are getting way too much? They are going to be unstoppable in years when the 2010 group mature.
-
Ive joined too!

He is exactly where he should be. On the rookie list, with another year ahead of him to prove what he has got. If he has another year like he did this year then he should be elevated. He is a great player to have as depth. Alot rides on Moloney's health. Can we re-rookie him at the end of the year?
-
as i said. I dont think we should rip him off completly, just showing that we should have a mascot that is a bit more appealling. Leave the diaper off, put a demon top and shorts on him and its looking better.
-
Wow. He's gotta go. that was terrible! what a brain fade. As for Welsh, im starting to feel pretty sympathetic to Essendon. I was browsing Bomber blitz last night and heard that they only had 27 players capable of playing in the intra-club match as it was. If you look at the footage on the Herald sun, you will see that the ground that they are playing on is completley brown. no fresh grass.
-
Im in london so i cant get there. However I would like someone to put forward on my behalf a proposal to change the design of the Demon mascot that walks around before the game. You know the one, hes the one who looks like a scary yet smiling man from the 70's with a pencil mostach, with a big red head. Its truly terrible, have a look at the essendon hornet thing that they have got, clearly more appealing to kids. In its place I would have something like the Havey comics 'Hot Stuff' character, for those of you not familiar with the character he is a small child devil who is from the same company as richie rich and casper the ghost. Obvioulsy we cant completley rip him off because of copy rights and that sort of stuff, but something similar would be better http://home.att.net/~thft/hotstuff.gif Chuck a demon top on him to start with.

Nomad 1. A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land. 2. A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer. He is refering to the fact that we didnt have a permanant training base.
-
He had enough time in the forward line to develop. He just wasnt good enough. Looking forward to seeing what he can do this year. Question: Who was the better tagger? a ) Dunn 2008 b ) Bartram 2006

The tune isn't too bad. It sounds like it has been made on my sony ericson phone though. Needs a bit of work on the lyrics. I cant belive that the Afl let them have blue, red and gold as there colours. You would have thought that they would have tried to seperate themselves as far as they could from the lions colours. Do we really need another team with red on there top? The song isn't as bad as Freos 'old heave ho' crap.
-
Interesting to see what some of the training guys look like. Also interesting to see the Melbourne Logo on the wall in the background. United, Disciplined, Hungry

Sylvia is set to deliver. I know its pre-season and all. But he was playing some good footy towards the end of last year. I really think he is set to go. Sylvia, Buckley and Grimes are my big 3 this year. YzeMagic will go ape [censored] if Sylvia finally starts to play well.
