  1. The terrible thing is that I will now go into every game not thinking we have the will to win. This will only change when I see them put in every single thing they have got. But even if we somehow manage to be leading a game, then I will only be waiting for the implosion and impending loss.

We need to be a club that takes the game by the scruff of the neck and bury the opposition. A long long way to go

  2. Just watching the press conference and interview with Watts and they seem genuinely shocked and have no answer to what happened.

This tells me the players have no idea how to translate training drills and strategy into games where the opposition does something they're not expecting.

Inexcusable really. They forget everything once the action starts and when the confidence drops everything goes to [censored]. It was the worst possible start to the season and I know we will recover somewhat, but I really think this loss has set us back quite a bit.

  3. 1. Having to wait for a team mate to actually make some space and be in the position to kick to. Should be able to look up and see a target straight away

    2. Port were manning the mark very well. The commentators noted that.

    3. They're spuds

  4. Something is very wrong. The players just couldnt be bothered. It was obvious. All i wanted was a bit of improvement with structures, spread, some signs of things settling down.

Yep I'm suspicious that something else was behind the lack of effort. Who turns up to Round 1 with so little effort after a long preseason and supposedly optimism for each and every side???!! It's like they have given up already

  5. If the club is losing the heart of the passionate supporters on this forum then I'm worried how many normal supporters are going to leave in droves. So many of our players could not give a [censored] or were not up to it. Not playing for the coach or team. No work rate. No spirit.

  6. Maybe Jack Viney can take a mentoring role with Colin Sylvia. Teach him how to make a genuine effort and keep working.

To be fair Sylvia hasn't been too bad, far from our worst. But hopefully he and a few other senior players can turn the game in the 3rd

  7. I'm watching the replay now and am looking closely at stoppages to see how we set up and how the game flows.

The supergoal Jacobs kicked was a great play to North (amazing tap from Daw) but they should not have got so much space in front of 50. At the throw in we have 8 players each at the stoppage and then both Jetta and Nicholson are standing alone 10m apart to the back of the contest inside defensive 50. It seems a few times several players are manning the same space rather than spreading defensively and covering the open spaces. Fast forward the play and they both end up chasing the ball but get there too late, where if one pushed more centrally then they probably would have prevented the shot for goal and forced another handball/pass into the 50.

I hate nickpicking on little things because generally I though we did pretty good in the North game (which is much more like our best 22) and there is reason to be optimistic

  8. Did spencer touch the ball? How much longer does this experiment have to run for? Surely he should be touching the ball by now. "Oh but we should persevere cos dean cox was unco at first". Please stop this joke.

Yeah I agree, gee I hope Gawn comes on well and quickly otherwise we're stuffed if Jamar goes down.

Not that Jamar contributed much around the ground though. Scrubbed a terrible rushed kick and gave away a stupid free kick in front of goal where he tackled a bloke already bending over into him

  9. You're kidding mate?

192cm, 95kg and gets rag dolled by a 22 year old in Vickery. Weak as [censored], Lynden, and almost as embarrassing as Spencer.

Don't mind him niggling them if he keeps getting 50m penalties with shots on goal. Thought he played a good game, just needs to improve decision making as he's got good footskills

  10. The boys need game time together to get used to each other. And keep in mind that our best 22 should put up a better fight - keep Byrnes, Dawes and Rodan in the team and we had much more maturity and bigger bodies. Can't wait for Clark and Trengove to return as well.

But yes we will struggle because our midfield is too young.

  11. Olisik, that'd be 'cause he's been pumping the protein powders and not the peptides, trust me, they can help produce a formidable scent.

Geejazzer, 3pm, Casey fields this Friday would be the go if you could make it.

I think you'll find that link is from last year! Isn't this Friday the intraclub at Casey but it's in the morning?? Can someone confirm the time?

  12. Cheers for taking the time and effort to make that! Although you'll probably be told to take it down as apparently the club doesn't like video being publicly available (even though it's an open training session I know)...

I know because I did the same thing last pre-season

Thanks for all the reports guys from London
