  1. So Brayshaw "should" have kicked in a different way, but given that a collision was inevitable, Maynard is excused from ensuring he doesn't negligently collect Brayshaw high?? He turned his shoulder into the point of his head!! So many other ways it could have played out safely if he took more care

Just for a laugh Harmes should spend next Monday just following De Goey around, getting in his face and trying to interfere in everything he does.

Then he'll get done for 6 months as an accomplice

  3. Where did you find the training info? Or did you just show up knowing they train the same time roughly each week?

I'm looking to go Wednesday morning at Gosch's but the club website is showing April 23 as the last advertised session. Any tips on what time I should show up?

I'm a bomber am I, my membership for the last 22 years as a Redleg and Trident does not say that.

Think there was some confusion between posters. I will say that I never doubted you're a passionate supporter, that much is clear

  5. The endless negative diatribe from 3165 borders on unhelpful rather than useful to debate though

I honestly thought they were a troll for a while, but I'm thinking just a pessimistic supporter sadly

  6. I'll be at the snow, sorry...

But seriously, I will, skiing the slopes of Engelberg in Switzerland. But I'm actually bummed to miss it live, will just have to watch us rip the doggies a new a**ehole after the weekend (or while recuperating in hospital with a broken leg)

    Touch wood (on both accounts)

Category B rookies face enormous challenges if they are ever to make it. I've always believed a person with Australian footballing skills but who is not fully fit has a much better chance of having a successful football career than an athlete who has to learn the skills. There are exceptions and I admire everyone that has a go, whether they make it or not. It makes the stories of success for players not bought up with Aussie Rules, most obviously Jim Stynes, but also Sean Wight, Zac Touhy, Tadgh Kennelly, and even Mason Cox, something we should all admire. However, I suspect Oliver Sestan might have a better chance of success than any recruit initially chosen because of their success as athletes but without any Australian football experience.

Did you clench before writing this?

About time for an investigation into the AFL fixturing department to see what clubs they support and find any evidence of brown paper bags or "gifts" received from long lost relatives

Maybe a bit off topic, but I’ve always been confused by the AFL and media and the way they talk about players. Drawing attention to Sheezel’s heritage is just another unnecessary example and it’s not helping.
They are trying to stamp out racism (hear hear) but continually draw attention to race. They have the indigenous round,  and they champion our (wonderful) indigenous players as All-Stars.

     https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2022-indigenous-allstars-vs-world-team-exhibition-game-plans-date-players-lance-franklin-selection/news-story/27548be066a0bd91e2fe78a983bf4b7f .

Meanwhile the media ranks our 10 best indigenous players, https://www.zerohanger.com/marngrook-legends-ranking-the-10-best-indigenous-players-of-the-afl-era-84448/

They tell us our teams’ greatest indigenous player https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/celebrating-every-afl-teams-greatest-indigenous-player-of-all-time-as-australia-marks-national-reconciliation-week-c-7011990

When I was a kid, the media talked unnecessarily about Italian heritage: Barassi, Silvagni, Benetti and co.

I’m an old guy and i am trying my best to be a good and fair person. Kosi isn’t an indigenous player to me. He’s a Melbourne player. Sheezel isn’t a Jewish player, he’s a North player. And for that matter, Clarry isn’t a redhead, he’s a champion Melbourne player.

Does anyone understand where I’m coming from?

Hmm isn't that giving an excuse to the idiots that make racist comments on these articles? The problem seems to lie with them doesn't it

A bit like saying a woman shouldn't have encouraged or drawn attention to unwanted sexual advances because they were wearing revealing clothes

Hope you are right - at his best he would make us a better team and make life much easier for our forwards

His ability to kick accurately inside 50 to the advantage of forwards is his biggest asset to us IMO

Pencil in more goals to Fritsch in particular solely because of this

  11. Should have been us in the granny. Better team than the Swans but just couldn't find a way to beat them, disappointingly.

And the loss to the Lions. Even more disappointing.

The offseason is all about improving the team and list, coming back hungry with a clean bill of health, refresh the game plan and we should be seriously challenging again
