  1. No, they're pointlessly arguing about Hanley.
  2. Personally, I'd rather keep for his contracted final year and give him the chance over pre-season to fight back for his spot. If doesn't he plays VFL and can do as he pleases at the end of next year as a free agent. Garland on the other hand, he's just finished his first year of a 3 year contract, I'd rather move him on rather than him sitting on the list for another 2 years without getting a game like old mate Terlich. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lions go after someone like Michie as well, but considering he's a rookie I don't think we can trade anything for him so he'd just be a DFA. If we do say good bye to Dunn, Garland, Dawes, Newton, Terlich, Grimes and maybe Lamumba over the next year I think we would have a bit of cash to lure a decent Free Agent next year, especially if we continue to make another positive step in right direction next season.
  3. Theres another player with no luck, hope its not serious for Salem.
  4. Agree, when was the last time that two sides outside the top 4 played off in the granny?
  5. Hard to be the worst when you're in the same side as Schoenmakers.
  6. They also got about 8 years of service out of Franklin before he got an offer he couldn't refuse. It would be incredibly disappointing to lose Hogan after 4 years.
  7. I'm going to play devils advocate on this one. McCarthy should have thought what signing a contract means before agreeing to stay with the club for another 3 years. GWS have enough 1st round picks on their list and high picks to go the draft with every year so there was no real need to force a trade for the sake of getting a early pick for a talented youngster. Basically they've kept a talented player who was out the door from playing against them for an entire season, and they can do it again for another year if they wish, they probably wont though. But if they did, a talented kid, 2 years out of the system and unable to even play in seconds league unless he went back to Sydney, that would be pretty hard to come back from. McCarthy on their list benefits them at the moment regardless of if he's playing for them or if he's sitting on his couch in WA.
  8. "I hope no one saw me take a [censored] on the bar last night"
  9. Good depth option for Demonland.
  10. Some of these posts make it sounds like we must have one of Vickery or Dawes! We don't have to have either, one is on our list currently, the other is not. If we get rid of Dawes it doesn't mean we must now have Vickery.
  11. I'm in the same boat, South Australian Cricket Association member. The caveats though, you have to hold an ID from that state, so while I've lived in Victoria for some time now I still hold a drivers license for SA purely so I can get into the MCC with my SACA membership. I know that sounds incredibly vain, but my friends are members and I like to go to games with them.
  12. Provisional members are the "new" members that they're trying to get through. At the moment each year they review the list and assign people a "restricted membership" but as there will be people who have their name put on the list at birth are not looking at getting their membership till they're in their 60's they introduced a new tier which is approx. 20,000 people. The additional 20,000 people were going to be added over a 3 - 4 year period, I still don't think it will do much for majority of the people on the list.
  13. I'm a little concerned about the GWS game, but there's still 2 matches to get through this round before I should even worry about that. I'd be more comfortable if North had to play them over there.
  14. I had something similar, I did us beating Carlton by 30 points and the Cats by 12 which got us to 106.5%. Then North losing to Sydney by 30 and GWS by 12 sees them finishing on 105.3%. I then got curious and thought what if both our wins were by 12 points which sees us edging North by a mere 0.02%, dare to dream, boys, dare to dream.
  15. Pathetic quarter, they better get a wake up call at 3/4 time. Taken the foot of the pedal way to early.
  16. How else were we to get through the past decade of football without it?
  17. The problem is we're relying on North to lose each game, which looking at that is quite probable. But they also need to cop a few beltings because we're about 10% behind percentage wise. We then need to win the final 3, as we've seen this year we're not very consistent. Hopefully yesterday was the start of something special, hopefully we back it up next week and beat Port, a percentage boosting win would be handy.
  18. Quality kick by Oscar, somehow we still got a goal.
  19. Weideman on par to kick as many as Dawes for the season in his first game!
