Coaches from Norm Smiths era coached from the boundary line with the magoo's coach as the assistant. That was it.

I'll be sitting with other MFC members. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get my head around being surrounded by a mob of imbeciles dressed in purple. Thanks guys for your opinions. Much appreciated.

BERNIE VINCE (Appreciation Thread #1245)
McQueen replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah it was good but i keep linking the true value of the compo pick for losing Sylvia to FA directly to Bernie. Hands down. -
BERNIE VINCE (Appreciation Thread #1245)

Hands down, the best value trade the club has ever made. -
The problem is Ethan, and you would probably know where I'm coming from, WA footy fans are generally quite feral if the opposing team actually wins. The amount of scraps I've seen at that ground over the last 8 years is rather impressive (quantity wise). Without the young bloke I'd love to smack the smile off one or two Freo supporters mugs if required.

Fortunately, that's not a problem I encounter.

I'm torn between sitting in between the Melbourne faithful at the city end of Subiaco oval which, is invariably the worst available for opposition supporters or, sitting in plum seating of the Freo members area. My dilemma exists because it'll be the first time I take my young bloke, who is five years old to the footy. Being an interstate member obviously gets me a ticket and I will need to buy one for the young fella. A close friend of my missus has offered up her two members seats to ensure we get good viewing and give my son the best chance to watch the game. He's still pretty Luke warm on the footy. What's the sentiment? Ed: have until the end of the week to get the MFC seats.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 17
McQueen replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It will be significant for us if Reiwoldt doesn't pull up for Sunday. -
There's good games and bad games. The two latest expansion sides, GCS and GWS have diluted the talent pool (for the time being because it will eventually correct itself) and they have also added an extra 46 games to the H&A season. This situation will improve naturally as the competition rights itself after significant growth. I agree that the sub rule should be shitcanned and rotations dropped even further. Sixteen per side on the playing field definitely allows for freer flowing footy because I've played many games like this throughout my career but it simply won't happen. With eighteen clubs in the league it makes me wonder whether we should just play each other once and then have a top and bottom 8 finals series but that would probably detract from the whole Grand Finalists making it all the way. Lots of issues within the sport but the more administrators screw with it the worse it gets. Good games and bad games. Unfortunately we play in the latter.

Watching the jobs they did on Freo and Sydney makes the 100 point spanking they handed out to us so much easier to stomach. I share your sentiment though and believe that Goodwin might see the games projection a little differently than Roos. Time will tell.

I'll miss the live telecast of this game because I'll be playing myself. So, if we beat the Saints this weekend, I won't even know about it.

How'd you go with your mail order missus from last weeks game? I reckon you should take up a Demonland subscription if we win this week.
-
Morabito for mine.

Interestingly, Roos was asked on 360 last night what he takes out of watching Hawthorn play.He said that "they really value a possession." That they place such an importance on it is understandable given the manic pressure they apply on the opposition but also when they have it, they have the confidence to play on, take risks and trust that the team mate they're giving it to will also be placing the same level of value in the possession. It makes sense when you view them as a 'whole' team, and how their recruits adjust to the style of play in short time. Sure skill has plenty to do with it but desire is everything and that is borne out of a supreme culture. They have it in spades, all over the ground and throughout their list. We just have smatterings of it at the moment.

To get Dangerfield via FA and then trade in another gun would be unbelievable. Makes you wonder though, considering Roos stating that he'd ideally like a mid and a tall, that if we snagged Danger via FA then we would trade in an up and coming tall.. Is Dixon Victorian?

"Guys, I'm becoming a Demon next year."

Reported on the news that Dangerfield is to meet his manager today.

Lol Sorry pal.

So what's the update on Kent based on his run in the magoo's? Went off with tightness? Strained again? Played required game time? ?? Anyone ... PS: didn't mean to give anyone a heart attack.... It's just a bump...

I think you're really clutching at straws here. Jones has shown great leadership and performed very well this year. He was tagged out of s large chunk of yesterday's game but still lead with some handy play. Your Captain doesn't need to be an A grader but Jones has played some A grade games this year.

For once I will watch Dave Missons injury report with keen interest...
