  1. As the article on the AFL website says it would be a shock turnaround by Carlisle if he chose Hawthorn. Let's see what you're made of Jake. Maybe the AFLPA could learn something from this if he does in do an about-face.
  2. Wowee Batman. I'm sure data collection must drain you of the will to live because it's definitely got your sense of humour. Binman made a funny, go back and read it, it actually made me lol. Cheers
  3. You watch Geelongs Sky-rocket next year with both Selwood boys there.
  4. Sorry, I read that wrong. My apologies.
  5. rubbish
  6. Are Carlton allowed to on-trade that future pick to another club as part of a deal during this period or, can a future pick only change hands once?
  7. Channel 10 news over here.
  8. If he's reported to only want a short contract of 2 or 3 then I would like to think we'll be up around the mark by then.
  9. What's that got to do with my response to your previous post?
  10. Well the news I just heard was that Ollie only wants a short term contract of 2 to 3 years. Does not want to be a long term Power player.I reckon he'll be a Demon yet.
  11. Isn't it ironic that the media report that the AFL have turned trade period into such a hyped up show, whereas in actual fact, it's root cause is probably found more at the fingertips of forum posters. Hacks like Barrett and co plagiarise and sensationalise it a little and fuel the big dirty trade period monster.
  12. This is the first time I've posted in this thread. I hope the content below is appropriate - given from what I've read on this page alone it looks as though a few can do with a chuckle. Read this today by a poet from Vic who is a long time Eagles follower. TRADE IS POETIC KARMA by Josh Vinecombe I'd like to reflect as an Eagle, On Carlton's trade for Judd, The one involving Kennedy, When the PM was Kevin Rudd. With Kreuzer, Gibbs and Murphy, And the cash of Richard Pratt, Carlton's hopes were growing, While ours was dashed with that The trade of the century, Our Captain and Number 3 For an unproven forward, In the shape of Kennedy. Which club would be the winner Only finals tell the score. Now it's eight years later We know who won for sure In the year that Judd retires, The Eagles are Number 2 Kennedy wins the Coleman And the Wooden Spoon is Blue
  13. Hawthorn have been top of the heap for nearly a decade following that model after getting the foundations of guns via the draft. Trade to fill needs to help execute game plan. Top up after top up until those A graders start to burn out, hoping that over the years you can pick some real talents with late picks.
  14. Considering we're going to get a similar value pick for Howe, giving up 25 on Melksham is reasonable in my opinion. FD thinks he'll be in the 22 on game day and he's a mature body.
  15. From reading a few of those comments, it really helps if you have an IQ in the negative to post on those Facebook pages. Just complete trash.
  16. And there's nothing wrong with that given the amount of contested marks he was able to take. You don't bother kicking short to a contest if your main forward is also in a 50/50 within range. Our conversion rate per I50's is pretty good. The offensive side of the game needs to develop and improve further up the ground.
  17. That and; we've got spare cash so paying him what he might be after is not the problem either. Club has something cooking which will no doubt lead to a greater gain than what we perceive is going on and that's why he's on the market. I really don't buy the whole "I've been shifted around so much" argument from Howie.
  18. Straight swap for that fella Fyfe too much?
  19. Well, after reading the drivel from Ben Niall about how Jeremy has apparently been constrained by the MFC and its coaches from becoming 'elite', I would hope that Ben is telling the Suns that a straight swap for Prestia is overs and the Dee's should be better compensated.
  20. If he's not getting a game with the Hawks, it makes me wonder why it's been reported that he's potentially going to head to the Eagles for 'greater opportunities.'It defies logic to leave the top team to get more opportunities at the second top team. A bottom 8 club is where I'd be looking..
  21. Omeara is the better footballer but Prestia has loads of hardness which is so critical. Injuries are the only variable I'd bother being concerned about if it was as easy as choosing.
  22. I look forward to the time when our season is more interesting than the trade and draft periods.
  23. Selwood is worth a look if he was a chance of regaining his form from 2011 - '14. Injuries have played a part in a poor couple of seasons and the emergence of other Eagle midfielders have not helped his selection chances this year.
  24. Well, I'm rapt, wrapped, wrapt and rapped. Crossy has been fantastic for the list and in this role he'll continue to add his experience and professionalism toward making the Dee's a finals ready side.
  25. So have we got the Wines for Toumpas deal over the line yet? FMD, it's taking forever.
