It's the process, not the content that Roos and Jackson are worried are about. it worked at Sydney with Longmire and over time, with learnings and improvements, will be effective at Melbourne. At this stage, we have only an indication that the selection criteria was sound and Goodwin seems to be an astute choice, notwithstanding we went for Dew to begin with. At least Goodwin has some decent cattle now just like Longmire did.

Seriously? If a normal bloke had have gone up to Martin there may have been a confrontation, maybe even a scuffle. If a big burly Islander bouncer had gone up to Martin and told him to pull his head in he probably would've. On this occasion, a female took it upon herself to do it (just like the woman at Subiaco oval) and got threatened to be stabbed in the face with a chopstick. Make sense?

I don't think the Tigers have the capacity let alone intestinal fortitude. They were star struck by Harley Bennel and obviously saw it as beneficial to use Martin as an appropriate player to try and get him to the RFC. Their values are eroding before the publics eyes.

I can see it now. We smash all three teams in the NAB challenge games under Goodies coaching. Season proper starts and we perform miserably under Roos. Demonland erupts in chorus that Roos must hand over to Goodwin immediately.

A lot can change on the back of a successful season. thats what we're all hoping for with the Hulk, anyway. -

Second rate in comparison to getting stuck in the face with a chop stick. Also, what part of his behaviour is still only 'alleged'?

"RICHMOND has belatedly taken a much stronger public stance after star Dustin Martin allegedly threatened a woman in a drunken incident. Tigers chief executive Brendon Gale said in a statement that the Saturday night incident was very serious and it demands a thorough investigation" http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-12-08/tigers-incredibly-disappointed-in-martins-actions About bloody time.

Wouldn't it be handy to have a 'strike' coincide with a ban for the threatening behaviour. Some have suggested the AFL have form with disguising such things with other players.

No doubt most of us would have read about what behaviour Martin exhibited at a restaurant the other night when he threatened a female patron with stabbing her in the face with a chopstick. KB is completely right in his call that Martin should be given a substantial ban from the sport and I reckon 12 months is around the mark and a big fine to go with it. As he has highlighted, I'm amazed that the RFC has approached this so meekly and I'm even more surprised this women accepted his apology. How would any of us feel if our wives were threatened in such a manner? Surely the AFL needs to make a stance on this for risk that the sport turns into another NRL with players assaulting partners. I bet Choc Williams is fuming overt this as much as anyone. Who agrees with KB's sentiment? I do. dustin-martin-apologises-after-restaurant-altercation give-martin-a-12month-ban-says-barlett Oh, and a drug test would be a wise decision also. Or maybe he just has a weak bladder.

How long is the break over xmas/new year for the playing group?...
McQueen replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'll be passing thru Brisneyland on th 17th on the way to Papua. I might sneak over a day earlier and do a runner up the coast and catch a session. I'm sure the missus would understand. -
Not much to dislike about his post. All positive stuff that I'm confident is pretty close to the mark. looking forward to how the team progresses under Goodies guidance next year.

When I go to begin a new papragraph, I have to manually select upper case. anyone else?

I have an absolute confidence that we'll play finals next season. Now, where did I put my beer...

Pretty stiff to injure it before preseason even commenced. He showed glimpses last season before ultimately becoming a bottom 6 fringe 22 player, as the article suggests mainly through injury. Hope his recovery goes smoothly.

I reckon a border around posts would reduce a lot of the 'white' appearance comments.

Was that pun intended?

I'd love to know that as well. Last correspondence from Misson makes no mention of Angus. preseason-update-dave-misson

I'll definitely make the journey over from WA to watch him play in his first game back. I doubt that it'll get the media focus like the Cousins return did but nevertheless it'll be a very special day that as many Demons as possible should get too.

Whilst there's other threads regards Jack and the odd snippet of information here and there within training reports, I thought having a thread dedicated to his recovery from the Navicular injury would be a handy source for any details that 'landers might come across and want to share, catch up on and track his progress over the pre-season. Maybe something from his Twitter that the people who follow him can share with those who don't do Twitter or Instagram. Any articles that are linked online. Photo's from training. Etc. I doubt there's not one person who supports the MFC let alone the general footy public that would not like to see Jack back and playing senior footy. Along with his fellow 2009 draftee, Anthony Morabito, there's an enormous amount of talent we're still yet to see and the determination and hard work Jack has shown will hopefully pay the dividends he so desperately wants. All the very best, Jack! If mods feel it's duplication then merge away.
