  1. Toump played alright. This could be his year.
  2. The conjecture is relative to the fact that the club and his management were openly reporting that 'contract extension' talks were underway. Had that not been the case, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion.
  3. I reckon the club would have been relieved when Hogans manager postponed talks to avoid the season long conjecture. It's the next best thing to re-signing.
  4. Not sure if this link has been posted before. Roos confirming the club also thought it best to postpone talks until end of season. Interesting that apparently 'others' out of contract are awaiting Hogan extending before resigning... McDonald and...? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/paul-roos-says-melbourne-agreed-to-put-jesse-hogan-contract-talks-off-until-seasons-end/news-story/cf578526fceee79b8767436ac126642e?from=herald%20sun_rss
  5. Also where he said there's a real belief the boys can achieve something special this year. I firmly believe this is strongly linked to the increased footy component in the form of match sim. Rawlings made mention of it in his interview and I reckon the boys mentality is fixated on 'training how you intend on playing'. Thats got to be comforting for the group.
  6. Whether it's being a competitive or skilful player, not enough attention has been placed on the psychological aspect of player development in the past. This, is going to be the differentiator moving forward towards success. The club has invested heavily in the development dept and whilst I have no doubt they have strategically targeted 'harder' players who show the desire to get the ball at all costs, I believe these same players also have the capacity to be trained to become mentally tough. I really don't expect to see any heads drop this year when the going gets tough. This in itself will be very telling to our fortunes.
  7. Still got 40 plus games MINIMUM as an MFC player. Media have given this far too much oxygen. No wonder Hogan has put off talks when round 1 is just around the corner. Feck me.
  8. Jack Viney will lead this club to a premiership - beginning with a LG position in 2016. Born leader.
  9. They overlooked the Golden Boy a seat back on the couch? I bet he appeals it.
  10. What a pity we won't get to hear Roosy repeat the same old rhetoric week, after week, after fkn week. Buckley and Scott on Monday nights..... Suddenly MKR looks pretty good.
  11. Hi Deevoted, Can you please slot me into a league. I'll carry over my RDT name from last year: The_Kaotic_Hunts Cheers.
  12. I'm going to give RDT a miss this year mate and give SC a crack.
  13. You'd make a great mod, C&B.
  14. I must admit this gave me a good chuckle. Well played.
  15. Horse steak is actually rather nice.
  16. For every study there is a counter study. Research into diets is forever going to yield varying results. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2016/02/australian-researchers-develop-low-carb-high-protein-and-fat-diet-that-fights-diabetes/ The thing about LCHF eating is whether it's sustainable from a food production pov. And to be honest, in order to lose weight it's as simple as creating a deficit in the amount of energy consumed via eating, to the amount of energy burnt via normal bodily function and added exercise routine. LCHF diet puts the body into a Ketonic state where the body doesnt rely on normal glycogen to operate. http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.com/ketosis.html Tim Noakes is the Sth African Scientist who has basically the instigated the 'Banting' craze that has engulfed much of Southern Africa and subsequently caused much conjecture about its long term benefits. He's currently in a court case after making a recommendation on Twitter regards an infant eating LCHF. http://realmealrevolution.com/
  17. Correct and I don't think it was hard core LCHF either. My missus is a Dietician and has tried the LCHF 'lifestyle' since the start of the year to satisfy her own curiosity. She now says that she feels ripped off by her degree and can totally see the benefits of this eating lifestyle - one of which has been 8 kg weight loss.
  18. Why is the post sequence this thread all up the [censored]? Is it just me?
  19. Toumpas tackles hard task to earn respect

    Jack Grimes

Apart from having to have a few guns to have finals success, you also need a handy bottom six of your best 22. Will Grimes thrive in a more attacking style of play? It could be argued that he was a better player under Bailey than compared to Neeld and Roos...
  21. I guess what interests me the most was Hinkley's ability to transform Polec into the player he is now. People labelled him a potato at Brisbane but arrived home to SA and killed it. Can the same be extracted from Toumpas? If it can, I reckon he can play off a wing.
  22. I'm interested to see how a change of scenery has influenced the Toump as he lines up for Port this weekend. Will a new role and different game plan be a key to unlocking his talent? No doubt some posters will be "wgaf" but personally I'll be keeping an eye on his development at Port.
  23. If Roos can have such an influence on team culture and leave a lasting trademark like he did at Sydney in this, his last year at the club, then see ya Roosy - you've done your job. I reckon the club will leave it up to him and how comfortable he is that his job is done. That said, if were discussing this without Macca in the frame I would be a little concerned.
  24. Reckon he's already covered a fair bit of those roads.
  25. It's a fair question. Maybe 'Webber' could provide an insight if he's browsing.
