  1. The beauty about having such depth now, as evidenced by these difficult changes, is that it gives us a much stronger foundation to target the A graders we still need to take the next step. Like it or loathe it, just like GWS, we will need to move on some of our promising youngsters in the seasons ahead because draft picks alone won't get it done.
  2. Holy [censored], we are the new Richmond. Ninth again.
  3. Given the age and capabilities of Dunn and Garland and every possibility they could be traded at years end, I disagree. Omac needs games and a carefully managed program that gives him VFL and AFL experience will be more beneficial than dumping him after one game.
  4. Jetta for Michie is the only obvious for me. Omac, whilst not a performance to warrant a follow up game should be persisted with for another game to give him some continuity. The backline functioned well today albeit against a dysfunctional Lions forward line. Hunt made some handy dashed today and he continues to show real promise. That said, 12 touches and 1 tackle is unders for a guy with his pace. He needs to develop more at VFL level before returning to the ones. I'm thinking Grimes might get rewarded for his solid block of footy in the same manner ANB has been, so Grimes for Hunt. Trenners hasn't been an emergency yet but that's purely been because he's only just out up his hand for a recall. For this reason, match committee should overlook that and reward him on his form. If Oliver doesn't come up from his corkie then I'd consider makin that change. Tyson will be right to come back in and I wonder if Roos will therefore take the opportunity to rest another mid - possibly Viney, Kennedy or maybe even the Skip? Not easy now that ANB has broken in to the team and Stretch has had it on a string for two games running. Geez, Brayshaw must be thinking how the hell is he going to crack the 22 after his recovery period. This is where success stems from.
  5. If Leppa is worth his salt as a coach he'd give him a clip himself and tell him to cut that [censored] out.
  6. People getting stuck into him via Twitter.
  7. Rubbish thread. Its called developing our young tall defenders. He had another taste of AFL level footy today and learnt a lot. I'm sure the coaching staff will make the most of his game today.
  8. Yeah, commentators reckon 6 high tackles. None of them [censored] legitimate.
  9. Lol. Throw them up with your arms or stomach?
  10. This is terrible viewing.
  11. We're over-sharing the bloody pill when it should be obvious to attack the goals. Should've kicked at least 4 more goals due to this in that qtr alone.
  12. Far less on the Lions bench though, dazzle.
  13. We need to be mindful of the exuberance and effort that 10 new young Lions players will bring into this game. If we bring really strong physicality at the contest I'm confident it'll set the tone for the game and their youngsters will lose their appetite for the hard ball. I have a feeling Hogan will get on the end of 6 goals today and Petracca will get an RS nomination.
  14. WTF Roosy? Asked if suspended Essendon key position player Michael Hurley was a player of interest, Roos said he was a player every team would love to have. “I think we’re all aware of what’s going on at Essendon and if you take a neutral stance, I think it’s great that they [Essendon players] are re-signing,” he said. “It’s been a really tough period for footy and a particularly tough period for Essendon but I don’t think there’s anyone who hasn’t been affected by the situation at Essendon. “We’ve seen that with Jake Melksham who came across to our footy club. Every club would love to have Michael Hurley but equally, I think if we’re all really honest about where we want to see footy, we’d probably all like to see him sign at Essendon as we’ve seen with a lot of the other boys.”
  15. Tipped Swans tonight.
  16. Exactly. The bloke is merchant banker of note.
  17. I've already looked at airfares to the Alice. Not cheap!
  18. Yeah mate. Probably saved myself a grand or so as well.. Still, the committment to travel anywhere in the country to watch his return to senior footy remains.
  19. I know that mate. It was a toungue in cheek remark.
  20. Nice of Jordie to put it to the top of the goal square with a rain-maker from 35 metres out.
  21. She doesn't even know who he is. All she knows is that I spend far too much time reading Demonland.
  22. A membership boost as well I'd assume..
