  1. Im sick of this club dismissing immediate success. Too much "negative talk" for my liking. As supporters, we should be pushing for success or at least, determined improvement. No compromise. To aim for 14th position is a frigging joke. Frankly, that's not what I stand for.
  2. Who gives a shite. Give me a Joe bloggs that is strong, fit and committed to winning. Just look at our current crop of winners; Terlich McDonald Cross N&m jones Mckenzie Garland Dawes Tyson Vince Howe Jkh Spencer Jamar None are first round draft picks.
  3. Bulldust, we very easily could be 2&2, and a real shot to be in the 8 thus week if we beat gc. Our team on paper looks rather good. I think frawley, hogan and Dawes, along with our bolstered midfield, strong disciplined backline and new game plan, headed by Roos, puts us in the position to definitely be aiming forca finals birth. Really, some of you supporters are morbid.
  4. Along with jetta, it would still be nice to have bennell and petered, bloody neeld.
  5. It is obvious that Kirk will be the successor. For the record, I picked Kirk as the man as soon as Roos was elected. However, I am starting to think our rise will happen rather quickly, and as soon as Roos gets a sniff of a finals campaign, he will find it hard to pass the team over to Kirk.
  6. Once again, thats the spirit, L. Todays message from the Dalai Lama (via facebook) " The very purpose of our life is happiness, which is sustained by hope. We have no guarantee about the future, but we exist in the hope of something better. Hope means keeping going, thinking, ‘I can do this.’ It brings inner strength, self-confidence, the ability to do what you do honestly, truthfully and transparently. "
  7. Its fine to have a losers mentality, however, it becomes an issue when it gets in the way of the people that can win. If you are a permament loser, just get out of the way for the winners who wanna take this club forward. Neeld was sacked predominetly useless because he thought we were crap. He was [censored] No.1. The worst coach I have ever seen. OMG. Now its time for the loser supporters to get out of the way of people who wanna get to the finals, and as quickly as possible. the best way to change the culture, is to change your goals. One contest at a time, YES One game at a time, YES One season at a time, HELL YES!!! Its 2014, not 2016, and I think we should be aiming to make the finals this year. No point looking backwards, we should use all our energy to 'smash' the moment and move forward. Gold Coast is the next task. I think we can beat them out our home soil. Do you?
  8. I think we can beat Collingwood, Sydney, Kangas. Port and Essendon, from the last that I heard, are running onto the field with 18 players, same as us. Lets give it a shot. Laugh away.
  9. Aiming to win the premiership is getting carried away. Aiming to make the finals should be the norm. We have a very easy draw, compared to others, and our list can play good footy, and we have the best coach in the league. Not aiming to make the finals is a losers mentality.
  10. "Footy is a simple game", J.Viney "I am happy with the list", P.Roos OK, lets do the normal thing, and strive to make the finals in 2014, like every other club in the AFL. 2014 Finals team FB: Terlich, T.McDonald, Dunn HB: Grimes, Garland, Cross C: Watts, Tyson, Howe HF: Kent, Frawley, Vince FF: JKH, Dawes, Hogan FOL: Jamar, Jones, Viney int: McKenzie, M.Jones, Bail, sub: Blease emg: Toumpas, Clisby, Tapscott
  11. Its not doom and gloom yet. We played well against the saints, Roos plan looked good. Carlton next week. They are the second worst team in the comp. This is it.
  12. Who actually appointed PJ? I dont like begging people to do things, who then agree to do it only on a temporary basis. Sounds like we are a charity case. PS, Roos publicly said he is happy with the list, albeit injuries. I really hope these 2 guys are winners and not quitters. Looks like they will be around for years to come, either that or their name is crud.
  13. Actually, Roos stated he is happy with the list. He can't take that back now. It is his job to motivate the team. Emotion is a key ingredient.
  14. Please view the historical record for my predictions. Actually, i have not got any wrong, yet. maybe trengove is he dosnt come good again. But I have been picking the right players since we started getting footage on the internet. I go for the Geelong type of players, gladitorial winners. Like Hogan or the freaky aboriginals. I think you need a couple of freaks.
  15. yze came good, then turned soft again. tj had mental problems. wines was a no brainer. golden ticket pick, and we missed it. shameful.
  16. If it was Viney's choice to pick Toumpas, Id be very dissapointed. Just for the record, I was pleading to all the merits of Wines over Toumpas. I should be a recruiter.
  17. Roos has been strangely non-committal to the Demons, looking ahead from the outset to a coaching handover in two or three years. It is hardly awe-inspiring. Does he really want to be there? And how long will the players cop public flak like that before they too lose faith in their messiah? very true. very worrying. we need committed folk.
  18. from left to right, Trengove, Garland, Jones, Roos, Grimes, Watts, Dunn
  19. Very True. Mark Neeld got rid of the players that I really liked, the ones that you have mentioned especially. Imagine if Neeld could have worked with the players you mentioned and even tried a little empathy with Jurrah and Wona. We would be in a very promising position right now. But ofcourse that is a contradiction, because any club with Neeld as its coach would never be in a promising position.
  20. Ok mate, tell your boss that. "ummmm, I'm not sure whether I wanna work anymore, considering I've already got enough money to live the rest of my life, but can you please keep paying my wage in full until I work it out" Yep, no probs stuie.
  21. I think the honorable and correct thing for Mitch to do is not to take money from the club while he is on indefinite leave and not contributing to the club. It is 'OUR' money, and I hope that we wrote into his contract that 'personal leave' will not be financially rewarded by the club. Offering support is one thing, taking charity is another. Right now, Mitch is a charity case and he should really consider the honorable option if he is unsure about his future. If he has plans to come back soon, that is a different story. A football injury is very different to a personal crisis. One should be paid, the other should not. Tough love, Tonatopia style.
