So?

He's been off the grog since his liver transplant - so imagine how good he'll be sober.

Ben Jacobs has stated that he wants to come back to Melbourne. I rate this bloke, who if he hadn't had a number of injuries over the past 2 years, would be costly. Have watched him in a few SANFL games - is hard at it and seems to have good disposal and makes good decisions. Was a terrific U18.

Now I feel ancient

Interesting that this is the 2nd ludicrous '1st post' posted at 3.18am.

I beg to differ from many of the views expressed above. IMHO, umpires have influenced events if not necessarily the final result) more during the finals than they did during the season. Evening up stats late in the game is also more prevalent. I think that the umpires (although Rosebury?) have been just as apalling in the finals as they were during the season - only in a different way.

And on their supporter sites they say the same things we do, and even point to how good our recruiting was to get Howe and McDonald where we did. Drafting is an inexact art.

Agree. Some of his work was terrific, particularly his decision making (unlike Wojo's)

I was impressed by the AFL's understanding of the intelligence of the crowd by informing them that thay would be standing for the national anthem of Australia - many of them must have thought it was Libya that was girt by sea.

3 Years for Jamar and McKenzie - seriously?

Another year on the backline. Then re-assess

Started supporting the dees in 1953. This has been my 60th year of following them. Couldn't stop now. Sad that. Still, I like Neeld and believe in him. I Dislike what the AFL has become - they have made a mockery of a great game. But I am cursed to love the dees and I guess I always will.

Hope you young fellows (ie 64 and younger) get to enjoy a number of flags. I was there in 56, 57 ,59 ,60 and 64. Unfortunately, I was also there in '58. 1960 was the one I enjoyed the most. We must win another before dementia sets in - now where was I? edit - typing as usual

Riley - the man who made sure we didn't get Kreuzer, and then went straight to Carlton. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Yes, a masterstroke by the coach of the century (at least seemingly rated as such by some D'landers) R.Lyon

'Shame' and 'ethics' are not words that appear in Vlad's dictionaries

And it appears (according to the hun, that is) that Giles has walked out of GWS
-
Yes. He played 2 games in 2011

Rivers in contract talks with the club - Neeld thinks that Riv needs to consider going to a club that's ready or staying. Sounded confident. Davey almost finished annual leave and doctor confident that the break in his foot healing well and he'll be ready for full training 29/10 - but is already training on the bike at the club. Expained the captain selection process and is rapt with the Jacks - sounded like Trenners has finished high in the b&f. Looks up the Hun daily to see who he's moved on and who's walked out. Explained the Jurrah situation really well. I like this bloke and he keeps rising in my estimation. Cool calm and collected.

PATHETIC post. This is the man who at the B&F said - I could never coach against you boys... Give me Neeld any day

In his egomaniacal quest to be a 4 time premiership coach he will send the blues broke - and there are already players there who are very unhappy with his appointment. Can't wait for the fallout!

Freo had a longer injury list last year than anybody else. Most of the injuries were to their senior players. Check you facts before writing drivel.

Agree totally. And they still nearly stole it.
