I remember those times - we'd won a premiership 3 years earlier, were one of the wealthiest clubs, an offer of a place at Melbourne High and an MCC membership was enough to get a kid to sign a Form 4. It's a lot different now. A rebuild requires time, astute recruiting through the draft and, now, free agency. It also requires good administration, strong leadership and passion. The MFC is bereft of all three!

I was there too, and by that time had been a member for 30 years. 1987 wasn't worth a 23 year wait - no flag. It's now another 26 years since then. I have no doubt that I'll be dead before this club wins another flag. Lucky I've seen my share.
