Nice to see the spin's not completely wasted. -
Well said, Redleg

Wish spin won games -
All of my kids- the youngest is 21, and all of my grandchildren no longer support thid club and I'm a 58 year member. Two are no longer interested in afl. The rest follow other teams, but only one of them is passionate. That's 9 potential members who couldn't take watching losses any more

The club's rhetoric is good. The coaching and performance on the field is 10th rate Let's hope hot air can win games and change culture -
Just use the ignore function. I haven't read one of the liar's posts in days. And the collective intelligence of what I've read has risen markedly.

According to a number of reports, Burns knocked back Port Adelaide

No. He's not the inept one. At least Neeld doesn't write a book to say what can be said in a para. He's not verbose - just can't communicate or coach

Geelong are the worst clearance team in the competition
angrydee replied to Cheesy D. Pun's topic in Melbourne Demons
Geelong players rarely contest against against their team mates - either on the ground or in the air. We do. -
This is our fortnightly 'effort' game. Fitzy must play.

John would be so good to get. Polished public performer, successful businessman, media cred. One query - does he genuinely barrack for us or was that just politically useful as lord mayor?

Spot on. I can understand going backwards a little to move forwards. But we have gone from the starting line to the limit of the backmarkers

The Starting Point Of When It Started To Go Downhill

That was the first. Then the profligate Szondy and Gardner eras. -
Excellent post. The problems facing the club are multilayered, but the purpose of a football club's existence is to win games of football. We all understand that we are rebuilding. The signs that a coach is successfully implementing the build is incremental improvement (eg. WB, GC, Richmond). We saw it fleetingly between 2009-2010, before internal dissension and other factors saw it crash and burn very quickly. Under this coach we have seen a dramatic decline in form and a steady drop in effort and performance. He has asked fir another 12 months. If we had seen ANY improvement from last year, it could be thought about - but we haven't. Re how the team plays, I agree the buck stops with inept - and there appears no option but to stamp his papers and send him on his way.

What I reckon needs to be done is to hire a Roos or a Matthews to come in as a consultant for the rest of the year to complete a thorough and clinical assessment of the list from the inside. They would need to watch them train and play - both afl and vfl, talk to them and give their report to the incoming coach next year. Meanwhile, the caretaker (whoever that is) could concentrate on freeing up the way they play now - so they can stop looking like trauma victims every game.

How many supporters refuse to attend games while Neeld is coach?
angrydee replied to tonatopia's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are the most committed of supporters and a fair percentage aren't going to attend. Now multiply that by the number who can't be bothered to vote or post and the trend is very worrying. I know 11 members who will not be signing up next year. So instead of trying to score cheap points from other posters, why not try and come up with a solution to stop the bleeding. Mine is to get rid of the vacuum cleaner of hope and expectation. -
Perhaps you (and I applaud you) can take going and watching another heartless thrashing (hang on we are now due for our fortnightly 'effort' game). Quite frankly, I am not prepared to drive and walk for over an hour (and back again) to watch our overpaid bludgers not gut run and our losing mentality coaches be outcoached yet again.
