  1. Kalojashnij (spelling wrong -am on phone) will be long gone by pick 20
  2. Want Strauss in as well. I really liked his game last week. Ran and delivered particularly well.
  3. I wouldn't want to be a player defended by saty - so far he has defended (to their departures) Schwab, McLardy and every board and staff member. His track record ain't great. Good luck Nicho
  4. Stephen Wells and Derek Hine have ALWAYS maintained that you take the best available. They're the best in the business. That'll do me
  5. I have rarely agreed with your posts, pm - particularly the pro Neeld ones- but sgree entirely on this one.Jamar is contracted for another 2 years and as has been mentioned is useful as a mentor/coach for our emerging young ruckmen. Spencer, at 23, is starting to emerge from his apprentiship. He is starting to show intensity, pace and ruck smarts. It is interesting how his career is starting to mirror that of the young Cox-even to his club's supporters calling him a [censored]. He is one player with real determination and would make us pay every time he u agsinst us. Jack Fitzpatrick has overcome more than most players his age, and is now starting to grow into (and having some faith in) his body. His genuine pace and athleticism, combined with his height (and increasing) size will make him incredibly difficult to match up on. Big Max, if his body can stand up to the rigours of AFL football, will be our Sandilands. IMO, we must keep them all.
  6. I have little doubt that within three years Kent, Terlich and Clisby will be part of the midfield rotations as well.
  7. One of the more ridiculous things I've ever read.
  8. Makes good decisions, kicks beautifully - his handballing needs to get better. I rated him just above Macrae as an under 18. I still rate him as just above him, but both will be very good.
  9. 5th on VFL list - 30 from 10 games.
  10. Disagree re Gawn 33 hit outs each to 3/4 time. Then Max ran out of condition. edit: typo
  11. 18 of them in the last qtr
  12. 6 Terlich 5 Watts 4 Frawley 3 Gawn 2 Nicho 1 Trengove Could have given the 3,2 &1 to any number of players
  13. Better be careful, Saty-you are fast becoming the Mfc kiss of death. As soon as you defend them, they get sacked. You'd better crawl back into your hole or the club will have no-one left to defend.
  14. Amazing how he and about another 6-7 senior players seem to grow an extra leg in the last quarter of games this year. Long term effects?
  15. I want him as midfield coach next year. PLEASE!!!!
  16. He's an ordinary writer, but at least when he quotes people he's very accurate - he actually listens to the recordings and writes them verbatim. For a propagandist - and I, for one, am glad we've got one - he's quite good. A necessary evil.
  17. Dmitri has had 2 hip operations -one on each in june and july last year. That is only a year ago. A light preseason followed. How odd that a year after his ops he is now starting to understand the speed if the game. I had him rated =1 with whitfield as an U18 He was captain of ths SA U18's last year, even though they knew he was injured. Will be a gun and a future leader.
  18. I actually have some faith that we will end up with a good coach. Re Roos - he was a passionate Fitzroy player who was basically sold to the swans and initially didn't want to go. This was during the period that Fitzroy had to get rid of Pert, Roos, Lynch etc so they could pay some bills. Lynch was the only one to willingly go - the first multi-million dollar contract (albeit over 10 years). Roos ended up doing pretty well for his new club after initial doubts. Hopefully it can happen again. Although he is not my first choice, I have no problems with his being given the job.
  19. A statement on the condition of the left the world over, n'est pas?
  20. All will be known in the fullness of time. A brave decision will be made and the (hopefully first) chosen one will ascend to the coaching throne and drink from what has been a poisoned chalice. Hopefully,in this case, it will be the elixir of success.
  21. He's had some great gamers in the past, had a really good one today, and will again in the future. He's a good ordinary footballer - as Dyer used to say. He's gone now, so he's just an opposition player. The inability of some people to move on is mind boggling. I seriously hope none of you are ever jilted.
  22. I have a bucket full of chicken entrails and many cups and mugs with tea leaves at the bottom. If anybody wants to read them-just ask.
  23. We are in exactly the situation that the AFL decided to keep the PP for - otherwise, why keep them going. Our pathetic recruiting in the past has nothing to do with deserving a pick.
  24. Sautner was 186cm tall and slow. No comparison
  25. As you sow... In this instance I am more than happy for the AFL to step in and save this club from sinking. Despite the apologists for the board, our problems are of our own making and we should all be grateful for the broadcasting agreement. It does seem the AFL are tipping in more than is being publicized, and want to make sure that we don't stuff up yet again. Once we are sailing smoothly again, we can poke our tongues out at AFL again - but we'd better wait 'til we're sure we're ok. Let's hope that they're a good judge of coaches.
