I'm starting to get really frustrated from 7 months of a investigation and 7 months of garbage opinions of some in the media. Fair dinkum 7 months! It takes 9 months to create human life it should not take nearly just as long to investigate a allegation. I'll say it again FAIR DINKUM!

Don stated we didnt manipulate or deliberately lose any games in 2009 which is what CW has stated as fact. That is a statement of innocence.

Hogan wasn't smiling in a photo again. That must worry some on here. I thing it's a great job by the club and to present the parents with a jumper. -

Let him play. I want to see him play. Give him a chance to feel like a demon and be amongst the boys. -
I'm a big fan of NFL and understand that head on head contact is a million times worse in the NFL. The AFL has big hits but not as often. Pretty sure it was Jude Bolton who had been smacked in the head 3 times in a game last year. He received a free kick on the last hit and was stumbling around and couldn't control his movements. It was a very bad look for the game. Anyone who would argue helmets are required in the AFL are wrong they are part of the problem in the NFL as they are used as a battering ram. I just hope that the AFL keep on top of concussions. I feel for Bell and Dean Kemp who have both had issues.

Strange time to quit. Could be nothing. Could be related to all things happening. If a player, coach, club administrator, club doctor or mascot farts at the moment I think it's related to PED's so probably nothing.

Dank is planning a lawsuit worth 10 million. How can he plan on this when no finding has taken place yet? -
I'm a bit each way on buddy. I want the marketing power, memberships and his playing ability. I don't want the constant innuendo that comes with him.

You may be right that it is not as big a problem as it is in the states. It depends on the style of game the AFL becomes. All clubs are like sheep when it comes to tactics. If the game stays as a contested ball style of game we may see more cases of CTE in some years to come.
-
If the AFL are watching what is happening in the states they will clamp down on concussed players being able to play. There are awful cases of ex NFL players killing themselves and players not having any short term memory at all. It is disturbing and I hope we never see any cases like this on our shores.

I wonder if the all mighty rules committee have some little bit of blame in all of this. I stress little but interchange rules and making the game quicker has pushed the required fitness levels to an all time high. You are correct bring back footy as we all knew it. -

Our old mate Caro said as much the other night that players were exploring legal options if they are found guilty. Most bomber fans I speak to think there is no case to answer and no drama's to come. They truely have their heads not in the sand but up their ass. -

Problem is the AFL has said that this investigation will go on for months. We all know how long and drawn out an AFL investigation can be. Bombers will be playing in 2013 unless someone spills their guts very soon. I agree though all players should be banned even if they had no knowledge. I really didn't know if a players punishment would be less or none if they had no knowledge. -

Is that the case that even if a player was unaware of what was in his system they are still treated like a willing drug cheat? If so they are worse off then I thought. -

For the bombers it looks as though a best case scenario would be that they were injected without their knowledge of what the drugs were. Which gets the players off the hook but surely the club is knee deep in it. -

Can anyone honestly say that the bombers aren't screwed? If the bomber players had PED's injected into them without their knowledge who gave the order to do it? You would think the club doctors were told by someone to do it. Why would someone risk their career without being told to do it? I can't see the heirarchy at Essendon not knowing about this. -

The story that has been buried a bit with all the latest news is the fact that the AFL passed onto to club doctors that player X will not play in certain games last year. The Doctor would then have to tell the coach but he/she could not give the reason why to the coach. Hence a hamstring injury for example. -
Not anymore we traded him to west coast for pick 88.

Sponsors - has the tanking investigation hit?
cowboy_from_hell replied to hoopla's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know nothing of sponsorships for sporting teams. At a guess I would say years of losing, low crowd numbers and not a huge membership base make it as hard or harder to find sponsorships then one investigation into something that happened didn't happen years ago. In these financial times it would be a damn hard job to acquire long terms sponsors. We found sponsors last year after losing Energy Watch so let's have some faith if possible. -
