Take out Gilles for Dunn and that's the team I would take in. -

I can't believe some on here have added a VFL scratch match to their wrist slashing file. -

Yep that sums up my thoughts exactly. Throw in Blease as well. As long as they all come up healthy I'm happy. -
One minute you see Lyon standing up for us with the tanking enquiry and then he writes this. Writing about Rivers seems to be an excuse to backhand the MFC. He has every right to but he should also state what involvment he had in as he wrote a train wreck of a club.

PRACTICE MATCH: CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
cowboy_from_hell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope all you guys down there today are acting like the secret service dressed in dark suits and sunglasses and are treating Mitch like the President. No harm can come to Mitch today. -
Maybe we could get Ricky Nixon on here to tell a few jokes to cheer old dee up a bit?

I'm happy with this sponsorship and potential two games. AD spoke today about teams not being able to pay 100% of the salary cap. We could be one of them. If we want to secure big free agents (Thomas),have a competent footy department and be able to develop players WE NEED CASH. If we want wins and a flag WE NEED CASH.

My entire family are bombers supporters. I watched the ox play when I was a kid and from that day Ive been a demon. Im 28 and he is still an icon to me.
-
If darwin games are to remain I would like to see some sort of package that a current member can upgrade with to promote members to fly to Darwin and watch the game
-
The longer free agency goes on the less sensitive clubs will become to losing players. You can see from the hawks with buddy that they are taking the line of what will be will be.that's a lot different to how Geelong went about it with Albett. The pies and other clubs will lose players but will gain players as well. If Eddie wants to sook he can shove it.
-
I couldn't care less about Eddie and his feelings. The pies have the same salary cap as us so they can't poach all our players. Snaring Thomas helps on field and off as well.
-
This new rule will be interesting. I understand the reasoning but it's natural for the ball carrier and secondary to lead with the head.

On harvin going he is a great player but a royal pain in the ass. I'm glad he is gone we can draft more WR with our added first round picks. Plus we made the playoffs without him. Very happy with Jennings (sorry macca) he can play but needs to stay fit. It also adds more unneeded fuel to the packers Vikings rivalry. We signed cassel. A backup who should stay a backup. Ponder is the man. Any big ins or outs for everyone's teams out there?

Some footy fans just aren't into it as much as most demonlanders are. I travel a bit with work and meet many types of supporters. I've meet the ones who know nothing but still support the club to the ones who know what side of the bed Nathan Jones sleeps on. Each to their own. As long as the casual fan can become a casual member I don't give a toss what their knowledge or attitude is towards the MFC.

Jack Watts coming out of contract ...
cowboy_from_hell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
The other school of thought would be to try and sign him up ASAP before he plays well enough to demand more dollars. As long as he signs a MFC contract I'm happy. -
Jack Watts coming out of contract ...
cowboy_from_hell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
He will sign up for sure. I think both us and Watts would agree we haven't seen the best of him yet. He is showing a lot of promise though and I would assume half way through the year it will all be done. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Goddard can captain coach himself. -
Dear Mitch, You have only be with us for a very short time and in that time you have earned our respect with the way you play the game. You are skillful and have no fear. I only write this because you are the most valuable player for Melbourne. I just ask you to get through the game and try not to attempt to kill yourself in a marking contest. Too many times last year I thought you were dead. Love always Cowboy From Hell.

If we could learn to attack and not butcher the ball any style would win us games. Our skills let us down with any style we play. I would take the corridor more and at the worst case try and create a stoppage in our forward 50. Our problem is our last kick into our forward line bounces ten times before reaching a player.

Best 22 for round 1 - your call.
cowboy_from_hell replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Evans and Blease would combine well together. We need pace and ball carriers. Blease is in if fit and Evans should play with him. I don't know if we go in with Jamar/Pencil or Jamar/Pedo as our ruck duo. Jamar and Pencil both struggle when resting forward and it's like we are playing with a man down when they play forward. With Clark more then likely out our forward line is stretched thin as is. I thought Sellar would be down back as he was in the last half of the year but he may hold clark's spot down forward until he is fit. -
Yes we can afford him. We can afford anyone if we want. We are lucky in a way because if we want a player all we need to do is drop some dead wood out of the cap to fit Thomas in. We don't have all australian players all over the ground who demand a high salary. Do what we need to do to get the quality in.

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE
cowboy_from_hell replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was surprised Evans didn't play. With his pace I would have thought that if blease is not fit for round 1 Evans would be his replacement. -
They did put in a special effort. Just not for the win.

I agree with you there mate. I'm a parent too and my kids don't want to come to the footy. It's hard and frustrating when I need to convince my kids to stick with the demons. It does need to turn around and I believe it will if we stick with Neeld and Craig. They are the key to our success in my eyes.
-
I agree that no one should be exempt from the blow torch. For the Neeld knockers I would love to know who they want to replace him and why.
